  1. Stage 1 landing burn start! Such tension! Also, apparently SpaceX now also does the CGI visuals of their rockets. First time I've seen that from them.
  2. hehe, the guy on the comms is echoing us "good luck stage one". Now we wait... what, a day or so to hear if the landing was a success? Less? E/ Stage 1 boostback shutdown.
  3. Liftoff! Go SpaceX, GOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Scott Manley did a thing. Some of his landings looked like the last attempt a few months ago.
  5. Part of me wishes that its delayed so that I can get home and watch it in real time, but I would rather them just be able to land the darn thing in good weather. Godspeed, rocket!
  6. SpaceX posted a basic graphic on their FB showing how the first stage comes back to ASDS. 8/10th of the comments were along the lines of "It works in KSP!" "Crazy enough for a Kerbal!" "Is Jeb piloting it?" Well done KSP community
  7. Bah, when SpaceX sticks the landing, its going to get 5x the coverage that ULA would have gotten. Perhaps even some of the public press will mention it!
  8. Rockets in the factory are always so pretty... lets hope the weather holds for a good landing on ASDS this time. I want to see history made!
  9. Stream just went live, even though its another 'boring' sat launch, still tuning in.
  10. Aren't the names pretty much interchangeable? They are less then a mile from each other...
  11. Yeah, it got shredded in half. Sacrifices must be made... I'm pretty sure that approval was recently given for construction of a launch pad for landing return stages at Kennedy. I think the current plan for the barge is to land the falcon heavy boosters? I forget if that was speculation or announced.
  12. Jeez, no wonder they couldn't land in that. RIP shipping container, your sacrifice shall not be in vain....
  13. Well... this was well inside space.... Two small Eve probes, designed to gently land, get some science, and send it back to Kerban. But apparently, it and its sister probe discovered warp drives upon touchdown and got the hell out of doge. Also note the 15+g's of acceleration still...
  14. The Vega is basically 3 SRB's on top of each other with a liquid engine for the final stage. Thing has a stupid high TWR, considering the cargo it was carrying.
  15. I would think its from the pre-chilling of the engines.
  16. Excellent shot of the decouple there, even if the cams were slightly out of sync :/
  17. Looks like Dragon touched down safely. I had started to get somewhat worried, considering that it was supposed to land 7:00ish and hadn't seen anything till just a half hour ago when Elon tweeted the pics. Onward to tomorrow's launch!
  18. If all goes as planned, SpaceX will have completed all parts of a mission in less then 12hrs... Launching a Falcon9, returning lower stages of Falcon 9, and returning Dragon. Anyone have another weather update? Can they launch in current conditions?
  19. Launch in less then two hours, I hope everything gets the green light. Weather down here on the ground 400 miles north looks perfect...
  20. When you stay up till 4:00am playing KSP... then have a dream involving KSP... do I need a doctor? No, I just need more KSP.
  21. I'm with yah. Haven't been this excited for a launch since I got to see one of the shuttles lift off in person when I was a weee boy. SpaceX is life. SpaceX is love. All hail Elon.
  22. Anyone know if SpaceX will be live streaming their half of the launch, or keeping it under wraps like last time? The boostback and landing on the barge is the part I'm looking forward to, not necessarily another satellite launch.
