  1. Thank you Reddey!!! Exactly what I was looking for... And yes I use the IJKL for RSC. Didn't know about H and N... Thanks again! - - - Updated - - - Not sure how light it is, i'll have to check. but its VERY light. Simple unmanned probe body, 2 small fuel tanks. 3 landing legs (the tiny ones) And a temp gauge, plus small transmitter. Thanks it. I think its under 1 ton. But i'll have to check. thanks PS: I don't think I have the 0-10's yet.
  2. To JT. That worked perfectly... Thank you very much!!! PS: I made your changes and I just did a reentry ... Very nice and shallow ... AP at 78k and PE at 62k on final orbit. Hit 70k at 2300 m/s, 2000 kelvin max temp on my capsule, I got it up to 1860 kelvin before I was able to deploy chutes. now THAT was close!!! No heat shield BTW. But this is how I like to do it. Very very careful (shallow) on reentry or BAM!!! Thanks again man. This game has just become challenging again!!!
  3. Hey guys. I made a VERY light little Mun Lander. I want to use the "Place Anywhere" little RCS engines to land on the Mun. These engines produce 2 Kn each and I have 4, so that's 8 Kn total. I have nice big rockets to get into Kerbin orbit, and a smaller engine to get to the Mun. But when it's time to land I want to use these little RCS engines after I De-couple the previous Stage. But I cant get all 4 to fire in unison. Either one will fire left or right or forward or backward. They are on the side of my vessel. One every 90 degrees radially. They are all pointing downward. I just cant seem to make them fire together. Is there a way to control them together? Thanks guys.
  4. Hey guys, I have a few questions. 1st: How do I set my heat levels in career to 1.2? I set mine to 1.0 but now I'm DEEP in my career and I've seen 1.0 is too easy. ( I don't even need any heat shielding ) So I edit my latest save and change the heat from 1.0 to 1.2 but it only works for THAT save. After I save again, somehow the NEW save is back to 1.0? Very strange. Any tips on how to KEEP it at 1.2 without starting my career over? 2nd: How do I (In career mode) open up the debug menu? I've heard some people talk about being able to edit some things in there to make the game more realistic and difficult (the way I like it) VS so easy a 5 year old can get to the Mun. That's fine and dandy for a 5 yo but im an adult and I want an adult challenge in this Sim/Game. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks you guys.
  5. Hi guys. So far im really enjoying KSP 1.0.2 or whatever its called. But I have one small issue. Since one of these latest tiny updates, the heating up of my ships and aircraft is very mild. (too easy) But the problem is I already started my career. I set the heat Multiplier to 1.0 (because that was ok at the time) But now with this new update to KSP, the 1.0 heat multiplier is too low. How can I change it without starting a new career? PS: I edited my latest save file and I found a line saying something like Heat Multiplier 1 So I changed that to a 1.5 My ships were getting much hotter so I was happy. BUT!!! as soon as I saved again the heat was back to 1.0 ?!?!?!?! Its as if only that single save was edited, but all subsequent saves following that were reverted back to the original 1.0 Can someone help my set heat multiplier to 1.5 and make it stick permanently? Thanks!!!
  6. I know about angle snap. I know how to turn that on and off. thank you. But im talking about something a little different. Im talking about the three angle arrows being offset or off angle. To match the part. But I will try what you said. "C" key. I will click it and see what happens. Thanks again.
  7. Hey guys. You know when you're creating a rocket or aircraft and you hit the #2? It brings up those little XYZ arrows so you can click them and move object in just a single plane of movement. So here is the question. Sometimes I see people streaming KSP and they hit some key or something that I cant see. Instead of the XYZ arrows being at exactly 90 degree angles, they will rotate to match up with the objects angle. So if an object is placed at a slight angle like a control surface, on the back of a wing. The XYZ arrows will match up with said objects angle of placement. This makes it easier to manipulate the object in relation to what its connected to. Does anyone know how to activate this mode? I tried the ALT key, but no joy. Thanks in advance.
  8. Hi guys. It seems that FAR turns your airplanes into near frictionless machines. So now I need help slowing down to land. Someone was nice enough to suggest creating flaps out of control surfaces. Good idea I think. So I did it. But I try to assign flaps to my alpha1 action group. It works fine. But in flight when I try to activate said flaps I hit the 1 key and nothing happens. Yes I have right clicked the control surfaces and told them to be flaps. I checked both and be flaps is enabled. What am I missing ? Thanks
  9. Thank you eddiew. I appreciate the help. You know what? Yesterday when I was flying my plane around and I said it was flying perfectly fine. It was, but I was putting in mods and removing them the entire time because many of them I didn't like. Also a few of them were not playing nicely with some of my other mods that I had already installed "Like FAR" and "Procedural Parts" So I was removing and adding mods to try and find the conflicting mods. Well during that time I think I deleted the FAR folder inside the GameData folder about 3-4 different times for testing. Then I was just putting it back, and everything was fine. But I bet its possible when I was flying my plane around, that one time and it was flying more like I was expecting it to fly, I may have had FAR deleted and didn't notice because I was deleting it and putting it back in so often. In fact that's the only thing that makes sense. Before that, after installing FAR the 1st time I think I was only using rockets. Not Airplanes. Hmmm that's actually funny. lol Well TBH If this is how FAR works with Airplanes its not as realistic as I first thought. I can Coast my airplane at level flight for miles and miles and miles and it will only lose a tiny amount of speed without flaps. In a real airplane if you are not nose down you lose airspeed SO FAST its not even funny. You cant just coast along the way I do. Well anyway. Thank you for helping me figure out what I was doing wrong. Also, thanks everyone else for helping too. much appreciated
  10. Hi guys. Thanks for the help. Yes. Nav ball was set to surface. Yes. It was exactly the same plane from yesterday. I had FAR installed yesterday as well. The plane flew nicely. Only added this Karbonite mod today. PS: the Karbonite.zip file did have a few "EXTRA" folders inside it besides the Karbonite folder. I think it was a grouping of mods made to work WITH karbonite. I wonder if it was one of those grouped mods that caused the problem? Like the mod that added the new Jets and Rockets that use Karbonite fuel? PSS: Doesn't 0.21 drag sound low for a total amount? coming from a complete plane? ie: Cockpit, fuel tanks, Main wings, Tail wings, front little winglets, Engine, Air intake, 3 small landing gear? Thanks
  11. Hey guys. I just started having a problem. Today I was flying a simple Jet. Doing a contract that asked me to fly to a spot and take a crew report. So I fly there and take the crew report. YEA!!! I get credit for doing it. So I start to fly back to base. I get close to base and start my landing approach. I Bring the Jet engine down to about 2.5 Kn thrust. Just above being turned off. I would guess they were at about 1-2% throttle. I'm at about 3,000m above sea level going about 200 m/s. I bring it down to about 500m. Plane is barely slowing down. Now I'm was going 185 m/s. I'm flying level but plane is barely slowing down at all. So I turn engines to 0%. (0.0 Kn) I'm still going 175 m/s. Still cant slow down. So I touch down on the run way with brakes on. Slow down to 170 m/s and bounce slightly up. Now the runway is behind me. Dang it!!! What's going on? So I turn on the FAR flight data. It says be total drag is 0.21 That seems extremely low for some reason. My plane will just not slow down!!! What happened? Yesterday I was flying. I lower the jet power to about 5% thrust. The plane slows down from 150 m/s to about 70 m/s very nicely. No problems. But today its completely different. The only thing I did today was I added a mod called Karbonite. It added a few parts like Jet motors but I didn't use a single part from the new mod. Not ONE! I just wanted to be able to mine Karbonite from the Mun so I could re-fuel my ships. That's all. But now it seems like the drag model is completely broken. Does anyone know a way to fix this problem besides just deleting the new Karbonite mod? Thanks
  12. Hey guys im looking for a mod to improve wheels. Rover wheels, Airplane wheels. All the wheels. More choices, better physics, all that. I downloaded one that I found. It was ok, but extremely unrealistic. Small tiny wheels drawing the same amount of power as huge monster truck looking wheels. Small tank tracks drawing the same amount as HUGE tank tracks. Most all of these were the same price as well. Only thing that changes with size was mass. But not enough in my opinion. It was done very nicely in some ways, but just not realistic enough. Too much of an ARCADE feel. Does anyone have any suggestions for wheel mods? PS: one more thing. Lets say I get a mod and I like it but there are a few values here and there that I would like to make changes to. Is that difficult? Modding a Mod. lol ??? Thanks in advance.
  13. Oh I see. While being in orbit the Gravioli detector works? I didn't know that! Thanks! I've only been able to make it work on the surface of Kerbin. I wonder why it would work in Orbit but not in an Atmosphere? Maybe the aero disturbance from the atmosphere is too much for it to get a reliable reading? Maybe in orbit its nice and calm, but still close enough to the Gravity well of the planet? Either way. Thank you very much!!!
  14. Hi you guys. 1st let me just say I love this sim/game and I can't wait for 1.0 and beyond!!! Ok so here's my problem... I'm given the task of taking Gravametric readings. So I have 3-4 to do. I fly and land at the 1st one (supposed to be taken from the ground) so I do it and I get credit. Yea!!! 2nd one says fly above 18,500m or something like that, then take another reading. So I fly out over the ocean and I climb up to about 19,000m then I get the message that I'm "Entering the zone" it told me to go to. So I'm like "great!!!" I right click on the little meter, and then I click on the "Log readings" button and it says to me "You can't do that right now" I've tried to do it so many times. But the only time I can get the Gravametric meter to work is on the ground. I've already unlocked all the tech trees for my career, but I would really like to get the extra money so I could finish upgrading the last few buildings I have to upgrade. Could someone help please? Thanks in advance
