  1. omg, i should start modeling for a hindenburg, with this you could take a small capsil up to the edge of space, then put it into orbit using rcs alone, awsome!!!
  2. wow this is awsome, also you should have rolled the ship, ejected the engine, and landed
  3. if your copying the bbc documentry, one of the crew should die of explosive cancer, which means, he should be sacrificed, i wish i could get rondevouz down otherwise i'd try to build a ship for this
  4. The United Socialist Kerbal Republic or the USKR would like to be the first to proudly present only the latest in reverse engineered fighter jet and interceptors, presenting from IG Works, The IG 17 http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=34481&stc=1&d=1349659425 The IG 21 http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=34482&stc=1&d=1349659430 and a variant The IG Speeder, designed to break the pitiful land speed record set by the united states of kerbal, http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=34483&stc=1&d=1349659435 What shall come out of IG works next? only the USK spy satellites will know! the 17 and 21 are very durable and easy to handle and they made it all the way to the second continent across the ocean from the runway with half a tank of gas left, its equipped with mechajeb to counter any roll just incase, also the speeder requires a 180 degree turn off the runway to fully utilize it's power
  5. Stargate sg1 was great till they defeated all the system lords, the whole ori invasion was good but not nearly as good as the first 3-4 seasons, same with Atlantis, once they established travel between earth and Atlantis things weren't as good, but still the epic space battles were epic, and the last season with woosy in charge of sga was good too,
  6. Effectively fund a manned space program while at the same time secretly funnel billions into genetic engineering research and create Arthur c Clark's simps from rondevous with ramas, then effectively man an outpost on the moon while mining platinum, Damn the regulators, I've Gota moon base, a natural monopoly over the moon, then create several large stations for space sustainability and crystallization of pharmacudicals and crystal computers and also build several quantum teleportation relay nodes that will enable the moon to still hook into the earths internet, develope orbital population, eventually go mad, leave thRest of the money in a trust to a pseudo governent on the moon, and walk out the airlock and have a beer ontop of the old apallo lem derbies with my Helmit off, stupid spell check
  7. Eh a few months ago I woulda said local solar system, but after this warp thing and the fact that in the last 3 years quantum teleportation, previously impossible has reached the limit of line of sight teleportation, so I think when actually developing warp tech, I think it will exponentially advance while we actually develope it
  8. Have you looked at cubesats or eggsats, which piggyback large satalites into orbit because rockets always have a safety margain in launches and carry some extra fuel so another kilo is actually cheap to throw up there (Cube says have very specific specifications)
  9. p forCurrently we are missing some fundimental base for ai, I believe some day we with enough power, we will be able to emulate human consciousness because it is only a matter of refining the algorithms and models of human being, which like the super computer simulations today, are getting better and better, but at what point does it become conscious? I can't say because you will always know its just a simulation and can be changed, I've always entertained the idea that ai of the future will be based on mirroring the neuron map of the human brain down to exacting detail, which will be possible with increasingly sophisticated scanning techniques like how DNA mapping has become possible on a chip today, To say if this is emulating a soul, that's up for the people living at the time, but I do believe it is a hard problem because if you treat them like people, you have an exponentially increasing population of virtual citizens who can all be edited, those decisions are not up to me, its up to whoever births the first true ai and unleashes it on the world
  10. eh for those who want to know, you can take the pannels from kosmos pack, go into the part.cfg file in the dsm_solar_pannel folder, copy the line : solar panel perimeters all the way from the first { to the last }, then go into the kosmos solar pannels and paste that code in the bottom, its not elegant but you have folding solar panels now, known bug, they generate power when undeployed, thats about it
  11. great idea, but wouldnt that require for parts to take damage over time? plus there should be some magnetic collector which generates a weak amount of power based on where you are in relation to a magnetetosphere
  12. wow i was just doing this the other day by accident, i landed in the water and had alot of fuel left somehow and was using my ship as a boat, this looks so awsome 8)
