You want something that is going to get back again. Okay well I will get working on that, I designed this one to be able to try and escape the solar system.

Here it is. Probably one of the first stock munar buggies based on a kearth bound design the DI-00-ATJPRV previously posted here. Below are pictures from my mission. Probably my largest (and surprisingly stable) rocket yet purely for the purpose of carrying the buggy consisting of x6 RCS tanks. Below Pictures: After TKI Munar entry burn Decent stage landed despite snapping one wing lowering the buggy proved eventful, not to mention leaving a smaller buggy than expected it is free! after losing another tank :-\ Capsule can still travel on it\'s own At the furthest point from landing site. Back at the landing site, the Kermans prepare for their long stay... The final stats. The other photos can be viewed from imgur: http://imgur.com/a/kMsMt#18 Hopefully I will shortly getting a slightly less 'kerbal' mission and get to test out the complete buggy. Meanwhile enjoy... EDIT: Below are the photos taken from the 3rd mission using the 850. Second mission crashed on impact and only the capsule survived (the landing craft is a lot heavier than I am used to) Landed without breaking anything this time! ;D Also managed to get the rover down safely using a bit of RCS It moves! Top speed of 4.1 m/s now to climb the nearest hill After than managed to destroy the rover after testing if lateral jets work

Announcement: Darkside Industries will be taking the ATJPRV to the mun! Dubbed the MuATJPRV, it is slightly smaller than the previous version with a much larger lifting craft. In fact the larger ever rocket by DI! Watch out for the MuATJPRV coming to a thread near you!

It\'s been a while, but here is the deep space module. All it needs is a lifter to get it into a parabolic escape orbit. Introducing the deep space module the DI-1000-Argon. You\'re welcome edit the design if you need to.

Challenge : The most useless Launch.
Darkshadow replied to Shrike's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I raise this... Failed aircraft, somehow the engine detached and was still firing downwards... :-[ Only real use was a smoke maker... -
I like the look of this design. Very similar lander to mine, if anything the extra wings would make it even more stable. Will be adding it now. PS: I\'m afraid to say I won\'t be very active from now on. I\'ll check this thread every now and then for submissions but I\'m a little busy with my course. PPS: The repository now has links to 22 different threads!

Thanks for the review. I know that it can reach the mun but most powerful rockets can, I wouldn\'t class it as a mun design though as it wasn\'t designed with that in mind. Secondly, yes the tri-coupled engines were based off someone\'s design I forget whom. Given the number of stock components and the types of symmetry I am not surprised that more designs appear similar. I save on struts as it wrecks my fps. The toppling is a common problem with some of my larger designs, I think it\'s due to the centre of mass shifting as the fuel is used up. I\'m surprised as I had not occurred in my testing of the Medusa. Perhaps this is due from using 2x warp, I find that some designs sometimes do weird things they wouldn\'t do on a 1x warp.

http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=4137.0 This page taught me everything I needed to know to reliably get to the mun. You need to get into a equatorial orbit, before timing your TMI to get your apogee to about the orbital radius of the mun, but also position it so where the mun will have moved too once you reach apogee. I find that using the map view and positioning the screen so you are looking directly down at kerbin\'s north pole and then rotate the mun in your top right of the screen, you then wait until your craft is just about reaching the lowest point on the screen before you thrust in the direction of travel, until your apogee reaches just short of the mun\'s orbital radius. Hopefully you will have timed it so your orbit will directly pointing upwards on the screen. Fast forwards and hopefully your orbit will intercept with the mun, and it will be captured by it\'s gravity.

Nice that\'s a new category to the list. Looks like a nice design, how did you manage to lift such a large ship into orbit?
-
Great improvement from the editing, original post looked so bad I wasn\'t interested. Accidently clicked a link to the page and saw the update, now good enough to make the repository.
-
Well the sub forum looks more active, besides it\'s hardly spam when the threads are nicely made with pictures, descriptions and files. Much better than half the stock threads I check out to find a one line description and a craft file called something like BIG.craft or RocKet.craft
-
You can group them together into one thread, for all of your designs. EDIT: Ah I see you\'ve made the threads, good job they look like good designs. Included them above.

Updated high scores, Good work RedDwarf and well done Tosh you\'re back in 1st. Wonder if it\'s possible to break the 900m mark? PS: Guys do you crafts have names? PPS: Also if you can post a shot of the mountain\'s rough location that would be handy, then it might be possible to map these mountains.

Sounds like an idea, I purpose this design is designated the Argon I (keeping to the greek names). I can get working on the upper stage.
-
That is a good idea, lag caused by some larger designs can be annoying. However I\'m not quite sure about the categories, some of the larger orbiters are mun capable and most mun capable craft also fit into the voyager category. I will not include incomplete ships, or ships that don\'t have .craft files. (I\'ve updated the repository rules that all craft must have their own topic with description, pictures and attached file) Looking forward to including them when they are done.
-
Nice work you\'ve made the highscore, but for how long? Tosh has found a 905m peak. Also do you have a name for the craft and one you\'d like to name the ridge?

Hi Welcome to the forums. It would be worth, posting your design in it\'s own topic along with some pictures and more of a description of your design.
-
The easiest way is for the lander or whatever top stage you want to be designed first, then post it to allow others to finish adding the remaining stages below. We\'re using the base game, wing-lets make good landing legs.
-
Looks smart, how do you get all those lower engines nicely lined up? symmetry starts acting weird once you branch that much. Also do you have the craft file? Yeah of course, I\'ll add you as a lander designer. Of course, just download any of the craft files and get testing. Try out the Odyssey Iv1.01 design kosmo posted, I\'ve flown it the once and it flies quite nicely, but I didn\'t empty the tanks enough to test it gliding abilities properly. Also I\'ll add you to the list.

I\'m liking the greek style font. Not quite sure about the lambda, an omicron would be more suitable (though boring as it looks like an O) What do people think is the most suitable letter? Other than that it looks awesome.
