  1. yup, for all people wanting to get in on this action, you need a few things before contacting me. First is a Google plus account, as this is the system that we use to do vid chat, and I personally like it better than skype. Next, contact me about wanting in on this through a PM. Finally, I will respond to you and set you up in person. I am usually free friday through monday, (although, some saturdays and sundays I am out of town, but I should still be okay if I am in holland). and as I said earlier the more the merrier.
  2. zekes, feel free to join us, the more the merrier
  3. A historian with a specialization in the space race from the 1950's to the early 1980's
  4. I lead a museum tour for 5th graders... found out that 5th graders freak out about wasp nests aboard a ship... had to calm down 15 5th graders... ate lunch, came back to work, hopped on a laptop and check the KSP forums before the next tour comes through
  5. Well, I have to estimate, but I would say the order goes something like this #1: Civ V at 399 hours #2: Spore at 200 hours #3: KSP 199 hours (on steam, much more if I added the unaccounted for time before it was on steam)
  6. Indeed, I have found that you don't need too many solar panels (yet), and the real trick about having a Mun base is having enough battery life to last through the night. That is why my landers for the Mun and Duna only have 2 panels, but they have tons of batteries to hold the charge.
  7. This video should help with SSTO design. I also have other tutorials up for docking and rednezvous.
  8. I am just trying to figure out what people think the hardest thing to do in KSP is.
  9. I would like to think the completed career mode is all I would want for beta
  10. haha, guess I should explain... okay, so here's how it is, I use a small rover/drone called "Crane"... I land it on the Mun, cluster drop the modules around it, then park it near the Base when not in use... (really wish I had gotten the base in the pic, it is only 10m away) The crane drone can grab the modules from below with these ports... with a bit of creativity on how I use the lander legs, I prop it into position and get a hard dock I am actually posting a "how to" on my method and should be able to demonstrate my technique in about a week (uni exam week). But yeah, rather than tackle the "how to build an overhead crane" design nut, I just build an advanced motorized cart to haul parts from A to B. In my mind it is easier to mess with the modules to fit the transit platform rather than the other way around, and as restrictive as this has been, I feel that I can open up with more exotic parts in the summer. Hope that explained the process well enough.
  11. yeah, that's correct... and while I have the base module down, they do have some science equipment and such on them... I will try to add some more diversity to it too, thx for the opinions
  12. Holy Carp, new episodes! Episode 11: Episode 12: Episode 13:
  13. no idea, I think that this is the right one as I am not advocating the space craft, just the layout of the base
  14. Howdy, this is That1Guy, asking for opinions on my Munar base... I am looking to make a video on how to build this style of base.
  15. My old thread about this seems to have gone walk about. In the interest of time, I am posting this to the playlist with my series, I will keep this link if you want to just swing by youtube.Episode 1: Episode 2: Episode 3: Episode 4: Episode 5:
  16. Howdy, once again, I am posting a Duna capable craft. this time, it has the ability to take three Kerbals to Duna and Return them safely. I give you, the 3M IP Lander! It flies exactly the same as the IP Lander I and my videos about how to fly the 1 man lander are still good Gravity Kicks: Landing on Duna and returning: Now, the question that I had to answer when going to Duna and back, was how do I get into orbit while preserving my IP fuel for the kicks to Duna? To that end, I made the heavy lifter that I use in most of my missions away from Kerbin now. I am posting both the Heavy lifter with a 1M pod and a 3M pod, in case someone wanted to design their own lander. As far as I can tell, the max weight I have had it lift is the 3M IP Lander, weighing in at 48.145 (Ladders are negligible and were not factored in). So, without further ado, have fun!
  17. looks sweet, one question though, can it return to Kerbin?
  18. I personally have not played with them much, but I do try them. I try to do all my KSP videos stock (so that anyone can either use my designs without having to find all the mod packs or try themselves what I did). One exception to this rule of thumb is when I built a space station from a mod pack, however, it was not the point of the video, I used it as a target to demonstrate rendezvous. That said, some of the coolest things I have seen on these forums have been either mod packs or custom built ships. I love the idea of people working to build a better space program through mods, but as I said, to keep my videos open to everyone (mods or not) I tend to not give mods screen time. My channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/ThePMilitaryCompany?feature=mhee
  19. truth sir, the farther I get from Kerbin, the less I care where the pod lands
  20. no idea, the screencast-o-matic is what is giving it that illusion... my KSP runs at 60 fps
  21. Heyo, I got done with all of my stuff today and am now able to make a new video. I think that this is a pretty good one. So without further ado: BAIN'S MUNAR LANDING
  22. Update: there is now a video explaining how to land and return
