  1. Loving this mod, but the command module (sorry no pic) has the throttle handles and nav ball stuck in or clipping into the raster prop monitor display screens. Anyone else having this issue? Thanks!
  2. Great ship! I've had a terrible time making those MKII parts attach to the side of my space planes without being all loose and wobbly on the runway or in the air! How did you get those parts side-by-side like that and keep it one piece?

  4. No pics, but I took a very low tech trip to orbit, land, and safely return from the Mun with 2 Kerbals. I used the TAC life support system for the first time and landed with just 28 seconds left of electricity right when I recovered the vessel! It was an amazingly close call and I thought I was going to lose my two Kerbinaughts. I had to cut one of the two parachutes just so it would descend faster so they wouldn't get cut off from their oxygen. I didn't want to open the capsule after such a historical trip only to have them dead on arrival! I just can't get over the magnitude of creativity this game provides.   5. This is awesome! And yes, I too recommend the music while reading about your ship. Great job! I'm still figuring out how to attach objects to the floor of the Mk3 large cargo bay... nothing seems to connect to the floor!
  6. Hello, I still pretty new to the game. I have mechjeb and just got the engineer mod. My question is how do I know when I have enough radiators that handle all of the heat generated by engines? say 8 atomic engines or 4 landsail engines? Is there an easy check for this or rule of thumb I should know? X amount of medium radiators for this many of this type of engine... Thanks!
  7. Hello, I made a space only vehicle (see images for configuration of engines), docked it together, but it only flies straight if I have the rear 4 engines on (made it with 6). If I add two more engines to the top/bottom for a total of 8 placed symmetrically will it be able to fly straight? Thanks! Its a simple ship, but it was meant to orbit multiple planets with a high max liquid fuel load (14,000+) so I can send my kerbinaughts across the solar system. At least that's what I imagine being a high max liquid fuel capacity : p Tips and improvements welcome. A quick update after flying it around as is. Turning off the side engines allowed it to fly straight... Its slow as molassis! I might consider using large rocket engines instead. I was looking to make a ship that would launch or be assembled in space, but never land - just orbit and run science experiments with a full crew. I see a lot of SSTO's and one shot rockets - anyone have a link to permanent space ships that run long missions and refuel back at a station?
  8. Still trying lol, spent all night trying to get an SSTO (vertical) up in orbit, but it always flips once I lose the side boosters and switch to main engine. I think I'm going to take the design I have (MK3 through and through) and try to create a space only ship that is pretty much complete at take off and will never be meant to land : p First I got to get this flipping issue handled when I switch to nuke engines. They have no gimble and I think my center of thrust is off causing it to flip instead of fly straight... Maybe I'll add 10 SAS or something lol.
  9. I only started playing after the new aerodynamic system was released. I love it and I totally enjoy this game! That being said. I did not vote, because I have nothing to compare the new system to.

  12. Hello fellow Kerbinauts. I cannot figure out what the best ore deposit percentage is on Minmus. The best I can find is 8.98%. Is that good? I might try scanning Duna and the Mun to see if I can find a higher concentration. I have narrowed down the concentrations with the analyzer, but want to make sure I'm not missing a 15% or 20% node. Thanks! Bonus question: Are certain planets more likely to have high ore concentrations? Which ones should I plan an ore refinery on and what % should I be looking for. Thanks again!

  14. Took me a while to figure this one out. It's from a seemingly we'll know heat gauge memory leak : p. downloading the heat gauge mod that let's you hit F10 to show and hide the temp gauges fixed it!!! Haven't had a crash for an hour now. The mod is called temperature gauge killer.
  15. Update: A I having a possible memory leak? And from what? I have been launching missions to Eve and Moho, but I keep noticing my ram usage increasing until 5gigs and then the game crashes. It's working like clockwork now...   16. I've only been playing for a few weeks, but I too thought that rocket engines turned red and now they no longer do it. Maybe I am remembering it wrong or maybe I changed something by accident in my graphics settings?
  17. As far as I can tell its only the rate of data transmitted that improves. I haven't had any issues transmitting from far reaching planets with the basic antenna. Its the only one I use with the exception of the largest on my space station because they look cool
  18. Make sure you are doing the asparagus staging. I don't recall using that engine much because I worked hard to unlock the mainsail, but it will probably get you there. If you haven't done asparagus staging before you should definitely look into it on a vid/reading it up. Its easy and it will change your Kerbal Space life! If this info didn't help, share some pics or describe what issues you are having. Is it an orbit issue? Direct flight issue? Or "can't get out of the atmosphere issue? Good luck and happy building!
  19. I joined only a few weeks ago... I know, late start, right? But I absolutely love the game and all that is the 1.02 awesomeness (once I learned not to turn my rocket under 25km). I only use a couple mods right now (MechJeb*, lights addon, and Chatter). Looking forward to many more hours exploring! *Absolutely love MechJeb! It makes the game very enjoyable (wish I got it sooner, but at least I learned how to use those nodes and dock before I had it). MechJeb is awesome and even auto dock is really fast once I properly placed my RCS thrusters!
  20. And thanks to everyone's help and some Center of Mass lessons on RCS placement... I finally have my simple yet very functional space station completed! Thanks again everyone! On a side note - Auto Dock with MechJeb works crazy fast when I have my RCS thrusters properly placed! And Docked! Top View of Space Station I I think I'm about as happy as those Kerbinaughts feel!
  21. Gah, I checked other game modes. It appears to be a research issue... Super funny that it has been taken away until I research more: / Guess I'm going to be practicing my rendezvous and docking skills for the time being : p thanks anyways.
