Orbiter looks so damn boring. The HUD and all that just looks like a boring game. The layout has prevented me from downloading it.
-
I was on youtube, going through some KSP stuff (sometimes I just type in Kerbal Space Program and see what awesome things people have been up to) and I came across this very old video of this person\'s series of epic failures. This must have been the first release of the game.

I believe -- not 100% sure -- that the LM emits some sort of gases from it\'s systems.

HOW TO: Rendezvous in orbit.
VincentMcConnell replied to VincentMcConnell's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
LOL. I did put that, didn\'t I? Stand by. EDIT - Done. Don\'t know why I put that and that I also didn\'t catch it in your response. It\'s fixed now. That is rather strange. -
HOW TO: Rendezvous in orbit.
VincentMcConnell replied to VincentMcConnell's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
The reason that those two things are practically required for rendezvous, especially for the average player, is because it allows all of your controlling (meeting up with the second craft) to be more precise. With circular orbits, you don\'t have to worry about changing velocity too much along your orbit. Side by side is simply an easier way to do it for most people. As long as your orbit is not too low below the target craft, you won\'t end up too far off. In addition, if you end up a little further off from your target craft, it gives you a lot of time to get the fine tuning maneuvers down and make sure everything is ok. You know... There is a reason why this worked for me to do a surface to orbit rendezvous from the Mun. Not many people (VERY few) have done that.. These techniques are user friendly and they work. -
A little while ago, when I first came to the forums, there was a guy with the title of Master Rocket Scientist who had the profile picture of Von Braun. I remember seeing his posts very often and it just hit me... I haven\'t seen his stuff in a long time. Anyway, just kind of curious because I just realized that.

At first, it was assumed that moon rocks were the reason for the shallowing reentry corridor, but it was later determined that vapors being given off from the Lunar Module were acting as a weak propulsion system, slowly venting the spacecraft off course, despite an initial reentry angle of 6.24 degrees. (6.5 is considered perfect). Because none of the other Apollo spacecraft had their LM attached during Trans Earth Coast from the Moon, this was the first time this problem had been encountered.

Question about Real Life Orbit vs. KSP Orbit??
VincentMcConnell replied to VincentMcConnell's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Rog. Giving it a test run now. Standby 1. EDIT - I did have some issues rolling it. I\'d disengage SAS to roll and the whole thing would pitch like crazy. I\'m adding some more powerful RCS but it doesn\'t seem to be a problem I can fix. It\'s preventing me from getting into orbit. I\'ll be working on it. Yep. This spacecraft can\'t execute rolls... Do you have any solutions? -
Question about Real Life Orbit vs. KSP Orbit??
VincentMcConnell replied to VincentMcConnell's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Yeah, orbit is no problem at all for me anymore. I can get orbits within about 30 meters and the only reason I can\'t get closer is because the AP and PE shake around like crazy and make it hard to know when I have to use the RCS. I will try to devise a way to get into orbit on only one burn and then do the circularization once in Orbit. -
So if you watch the old Apollo videos or even the modern Shuttle ones, the launch begins and the engines don\'t shut down until the craft is in orbit. They keep burning and burning and when they shut down, BAM, orbit. In Kerbal, I always pitch over and continue burning until my Apokee is at my desired altitude, shut the engines down, wait until I reach it and then burn again, which puts me into orbit. This isn\'t how they do it in real life, I don\'t think... Is there any way in Kerbal to launch and continue throttle until in near perfect orbit?
-
My first landing with a completely unmodded Lunar Module (all previous unmodded propulsion systems were used with modded RCS). This was done almost entirely stock and it came out pretty well. Not enough fuel to return, sadly.

I\'m not sure if this is in the right place, but other people asked questions here and I couldn\'t think of a better place. I would like to start making plug ins because I have many ideas but I don\'t know how. Can someone write up some kind of guide that makes it possible for people to learn how to make plug ins for .14 and up?

I need help for docking
VincentMcConnell replied to a topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
LMAO. You can\'t dock... -
I\'ll be holding out on KSP until the release of 14.2 anyway. I\'m excited for the new terrain and future plug ins. I need someone who\'s good at plug ins to check out my suggestions on the plug in requests board... If not, I\'ll just have to figure out how to do it myself.
-
Due to the unreliability of Squad\'s servers, I assume it will take all day just to attempt to download it... Even in parts.
-
Can you please release this for .14? Because the servers are down, nobody can download .14.1...

Making the orbit smaller

Efficiency . . . I am Lacking
VincentMcConnell replied to SiliconPyro's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Because the AP does slowly rise. Your orbit will become highly elliptical.
