  1. Kosmo-not, you\'re probably the most experienced person with the technicalities that I\'ve met here, so I\'d really like if you could help as much as possible. I agree with you. I\'d rather be in the trench for this, too. That\'s why I\'ve chosen to be one of the CAPCOMs. We can send real time trajectory info by having the astronauts use Mecjeb and point a camera at the orbital information table on blogTV and then promise not to use it for themselves. Yes, you should learn your slide rule. Where did you get it?
  2. And the thing I posted was a photo, like this. Not a naked eye visual.
  3. First, space was completely blacked out, to satisfy my own preference of how realistic it should look. Second, a terminator was added.
  4. Sunrise over Kerbin from orbit. Looking back at the darkness from above the terminator Boosted into a higher orbit. Here\'s our planet as a whole.
  5. Uhh... Nova... Write up a Resume and ask Harv if he\'s hiring... I don\'t know why you\'re not working as a dev... Anyway, I hope ALL of this gets made because I can\'t wait to orbit over the liquid mercury oceans and land on the new moons and planets.
  6. We can click on 'spoiler' and it will reveal it... There are some people who have a hard time loading a page with exposed pictures that are practically as big as the browser window.
  7. I\'m 15. I\'m three years ahead of you. So... I might beat you to becoming an astronaut. If you\'re going to NASA, you\'ll never walk on Mars. If you\'re going to SpaceX, like me, you\'ll have a much better shot.
  8. Seriously, people? You have these pictures that are THAT huge and you can\'t even spoiler them? It\'s not that hard. There\'s even a button for it on the table of buttons above the posting box..
  9. How old are you? What if I get to Mars first... Will I have ruined your dream?
  10. Description: You should edit this and customize it to help you visualize munar flights if you\'re new to the game.
  11. I think you can do both. Engineering is one of the qualified degrees to be an astronaut. Might be smart to first go into working on spacecraft and then become an astronaut.
  12. You won\'t go to the moon because you can\'t YET and you don\'t want to fail so you won\'t try. I was the same way. But keep at it. Do not give up. You want motivation? Get yourself a Command Module and make your first free return trajectory around the mun. It\'s simple. 100KM orbit. Burn at Munrise to increase your Apokee to 14,000KM (very high free return.) Now sit there and wait to return. Circumlunar flight is very important on your way to becoming a munar Kerbalnaut.
  13. Lucky son of a gun. I\'m 15 right now and I really want to be. My plan is to get a BSc or PHD in Astrophysics or advanced engineering so that I will be educationally qualified to flight into space. Physically, I\'m sure I\'m fine.
  14. You can be an astronaut with glasses. As long as it\'s correctable vision impairment. When I first heard that, I was like, 'Yes! I CAN be an astronaut!'
  15. If use Mecjeb data (my numbers DID NOT expect us to) we could just have mission control read the astronauts their altitude, AP and PE etc.
  16. I know. But it gets the job done... 100 KM apogee results in about 50% around the world space travel in less than 33 minutes.
  17. Behold, the new M-15 (Prototype) high altitude rocket plane. Designed to make quick and efficient ballistic flight to other continents with only one rocket engine. Landing gear has not yet been put on (I have no clue how people land planes... The wheels break off when I do it.) so the occupants must drop to Kerbin in a capsule like a rocket. More and more will be put into this, but so far, flight is really straight forward.
  18. Reminds me of an old bad guy KAOS assassin from the show 'Get Smart'. Lumocco. (May or may not be correct spelling). That\'s a good name. Hopefully we\'ll see that as a KSP planet some day. Giant crater = Nova Crater?
  19. I think the title is pretty sufficient to explain the point of this thread...
  20. Can you imagine how great it will look when clouds and weather is added? Hopefully they\'ll also had large tan deserts and make it more and more like the photos you see from the ISS. If Kerbin ever looks like that, I\'m going to completely forget about the Mun. Someday I hope to see the Earth from space, but becoming an astronaut will take years and years of hard work. I just really hope I have the motivation to do it.
  21. I went suborbital and got this really cool photo of Kerbin.
