  1. It\'s service propulsion stage should have enough fuel to get back. The tank might be a little modded...
  2. Just started work on inventing an interplanetary rocket and spacecraft that will be used in my first orbital flight of Kerbal\'s Mars equivalent. I have no real name for it yet, so if anybody has any ideas, that would be great. The craft has had testing already. First in orbit, using its service module to boost into a 150km orbit from a 100km orbit before returning to Kerbin. Next, it was used to do 2 orbits around the mun and return. All is looking well for this craft, and I believe its injection stage has PLENTY of fuel to make the burn to intercept Martian orbit. Again, any names will be helpful. Here\'s a picture of the craft\'s service module on top of its injection stage in Kerbin orbit. It uses solid booster to get 2,000 meters off of the launch pad, then jettisons those and starts its first liquid stage which pitches into an apokee of 85km. The injection stage circularizes a 100km orbit and then makes the burn to intercept Mars\'s patch. Then the panels fall off and the service module flights toward Mars. It uses its SPS engine to drop into Martian orbit and then return. At 110,000 meters from Kerbin, the command module separates from the service stage and at 68,000 meters, it activates its heat shield and makes a dramatic reentry towards Kerbin.
  3. No, I understand how they work, the issue is, there\'s very little information given in KSP, so to calculate each of these, I need to open up the cfg files and look at the part parameters. I was taught things like delta-V while attempting to make a solid rocket booster. (Didn\'t have the money at the time to buy the propellant.)
  4. Really? So posting about how I downloaded orbiter in the OFF TOPIC THREAD... Seriously, if you\'re going to just complain about how pointless all the threads are, STOP LOOKING AT THEM.
  5. It\'s true. To me it just seemed like clicking some buttons and typing letters and numbers in. There wasn\'t much real piloting. While most of spaceflight is automatic, in the Apollo days, you still had to do a lot of navigating by the stars through a sextant manually. You also have to perform your own fine piloting etc.
  6. I\'ve been wanting to go to this museum for a long time ever since I heard the Apollo 9 Command Module was there and I finally got the chance to go. I got a few pictures of me with the CM but also some without me. In addition, they had Bill Anders\'s (Apollo 8) flown suit, several lunar samples brought back from the Apollo missions, some stuff worn by Neil Armstrong, someone\'s Gemini suit and a REALLY cool MaxFlight simulator that had full rolling motion and everything. (I flew upside down for more than 30 seconds at a time lol) Here\'s me with the Apollo 9 CM. It was awesome! Look how charred and crummy it looks from reentering the atmosphere. Here\'s the CM without me standing in front of it.
  7. Just played it a little bit. I really prefer Kerbal. Orbiter is very boring and slow and there\'s not much piloting in it, to be honest. What I noticed about orbiter is you click on one of the steps in the AMSO Apollo add-on and then the computer practically does everything for you... The only piloting and trajectory planning you do is just typing in numbers and clicking on things in the MFD. It doesn\'t even seem realistic... I wouldn\'t rate the game very high. I\'ve just started KSP back up again.
  8. Sure. I\'d like to orbit the moon tonight and successfully return. My next mission will be to make a free return around Mars.
  9. I was playing Orbiter and it seems like a really cool game. I went through the tutorial first so I may start trying my first mission tonight. Is it a considerably difficult game if you want to get to Mars (My goal)?
  10. I\'m trying to be more precise and realistic with Kerbal Space Program and use mathematical and scientific calculations (physics) to make everything in my game go perfect correct on the first actual mission. Does anybody have any calculations they use with Kerbal that they can share?
  11. I know. I\'m friends with Jarrah White and he\'s filing DMCA on some people who are also my friends. I hear about his justification for these actions all the time. I believe he is out of line.
  12. Yeah I know! I think the Mei Long is based on Dragon. Whenever I build Dragon and the Falcon Rockets, I use the Down Under parts pack.
  13. He lives in Sydney and is pretty well known because of his injection into the Moon hoax theory. He came around in the last few years.
  14. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-17439490 This is kind of depressing though, as I know I probably won\'t get to walk on Mars as one of the first people. There will be a thousand rich people signing up long before several astronauts who are qualified will get to go. 500,000 dollars for a landing...
  15. Hey guys. I\'m building a space suit (Fred Haise\'s to be exact). The PLSS backpack is coming along REALLY well! Actual size and everything, except I have an issue that I\'d like some help with. Does anybody know the exact dimensions of the Oxygen Purge system used on top of the Apollo Personal Life Support Systems?
  16. There should be a toggle in the menu of the game. [ ] realistic display
  17. Oh. let me see. I am building a suit, but I have had to start over several times.
