Hitler finds out there will not be a Mars in .15
VincentMcConnell replied to VincentMcConnell's topic in The Lounge
Thanks for finding this funny, guys. I thought it was just a pretty corny KSP rage, but apparently you guys liked it. The support is appreciated. I have ideas for other KSP Hitler videos, but I don\'t want to make too many. -

No. haha -
So before I 'offend' anyone, I want to emphatically state that Hitler\'s opinion on the subject does NOT reflect my views at all. In fact, my line '...they\'ve been overloaded as it is.' coming from Jodl, is more of my opinion. Anyway, you can tell how bored I was. To sit down and actually make a Hitler Parody about Kerbal Space Program. PS: Tiberion, NovaSilisko, HarvesteR and Tosh, you all get mentioned. I hope my disclaimer was enough to stop comments like, 'you dumbass! Harv is working hard! Why are you so pissed!' and 'Fuck you!' Anyway, I\'m really glad we\'ve gotten as much as we have from Kerbal Space Program, so I thank the dev team heavily. As for Hitler... Well... There\'s a reason he\'s only liked when he\'s parodied! He\'s trying to show that he\'s got some weird conspiracy theory... I don\'t know. -

Saying 'That\'s Kerbal' will never be an offense like starting every damned word with a 'k'. You want to see something SUPER Kerbal? -

I love that part. 'Getting to the moon is easy.' 'Well... Not entirely easy.' 'It\'s relatively easy...' 'What\'s hard, is getting him back!' 'So we started thinking... What can we do now? The moon!' Their plan turns out to be sending a man to the moon and repeatedly bringing him supply ships until they figure out a way to get him back... hahaha -

I have a near 100% success rate on both landing and return. I recommend modding your .cfg file until you get the hang of it. Also, Tiberion\'s NovaPunch 'MunRocketHeavy' is a great craft with plenty of fuel. -
I hadn\'t seen this around in a while, although I heard talk about how small Kerbin was compared to Earth. I never really looked up Earth\'s true radius to get an accurate representation of how small Kerbin really was, but I finally got bored enough to look it up. Despite having an equally strong gravity, Kerbin is roughly 10.9 times smaller than the planet on which we currently are! I made a very simple diagram using my Microsoft Paint (ha) to show the size comparison of the two of them right next to each other. Kerbin is about 10.9 times smaller than Planet Earth. It does seem equally appropriate, however, because our Kerbals are very small creatures. Another thing that I never put too much thought into was the size of the capsules and rockets we get as stock with the game... They have a diameter of only one meter. I will probably get the diameter of the Apollo Command Module and see if our Kerbal\'s are accurately sized to be the same size as humans relative to their planet. My question is, do you think we will ever see Kerbin scaled up to a larger size, what with time warp now available?

The Martian Rocket

I realized that after I typed up that comment, ha! Maybe I will use orbital rendezvous. As long as we are able to dock with a booster and use it when Docking comes out. -

The Martian Rocket

, because that\'s what the ship will be filled with when they can\'t get back home. :3 I\'ll be sure to bring extra urine collection bags. Remember, I said the ascent and descent stage have been modded to have a substantial amount of fuel specifically so return can be possible without orbital rendezvous and docking around Mars. (Even though such a thing MIGHT be my method. Martian Orbit Rendezvous. -

I agree. I\'d like to see big dramatic launches with huge plumes of fire and smoke when I take off from KSC. The RCS should look more like the OMS from the shuttle, too. Maybe when you press (.) to time-warp, your craft suddenly vibrates back and forth at the speed of light. lol -

The Martian Rocket
VincentMcConnell replied to VincentMcConnell's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
So, a little update today for everyone. I\'m thinking about naming my official Martian program 'Grissom' after astronaut Gus Grissom (RIP) and launching the orbital flights onboard the rocket in this thread and the landing flights on a modified Saturn V rocket. I launched my first Martian Module into Kerbin orbit about 20 minutes ago where it used its service stage to make two altitude corrections (224x200 --> 220x220km). The Descent stage was used to descend the lander into an orbit of 100km circular with plenty of fuel to spare. The Ascent stage deorbited the spacecraft and it reentered the atmosphere and splashed down off the western coast near KSC. It was a highly successful flight and has only one more test to go. This is to put the rocket into an initial orbit of 100KM and then use its injection stage to boost its apokee to an orbit of 100x1200km. The SM, the descent stage and the ascent stage will be used to make various corrections. If it can reenter with the launch to orbit of 100km and the Hohmann transfer successful, it will be qualified for the first Martian mission when the planet is released. I decided I will NOT take it to the Mun. This is a Martian program and will be treated as such. Anyway, it seems Grissom II was a highly successful test of the Martian Module in Kerbin orbit. If Grissom II goes well, the Module will make its first flight to Mars when it is released on Grissom IV. (III will be an orbital mission using the command module shown in this thread.) If no problems are encountered and the Kerbals are returned successfully the first time, Grissom V will be the first mission to touch the Martian surface. If anyone\'s wondering, here\'s a picture of hopefully, in the future, the first spacecraft to touch the Martian surface. -

I think I made a thread here and in it, someone explained how to properly do it, but we won\'t know until we get Mars and know it\'s altitude and orbital period. I hope I don\'t miscalculate! -

VincentMcConnell replied to TheMunRules#1's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Actually, YES, you can. Travel near the speed of light or orbit a black hole and time outside you will accelerate... By the way, I never said anything about stars in my post, so I think you\'re pulling that one from previous discussions on the forums... My post was a simple fact that this photograph is a LONG EXPOSURE photo (or high, depending on what was adjusted), and that you would never see anything like that while orbiting Earth. -

VincentMcConnell replied to TheMunRules#1's topic in KSP1 Discussion
How\'s reality the opposite of what I said?? Regardless of whether you can see stars (that\'s completely irrelevant to the discussion), this photograph WAS a high exposure photo. And I don\'t care WHAT part of earth you\'re above, it will NEVER look like that photo to the naked eye... I really don\'t understand what the point of your post was... -
The Martian Rocket
VincentMcConnell replied to VincentMcConnell's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
First to go to Mars. Well that\'d be an accomplishment for me, right up with the possibility that it\'s still unknown whether I was actually the first in Munar orbit rendezvous or just ONE OF THE first. I like Pioneer. -
Apollo 18 was a terrible movie.

PLSS backpack fully detailed, OPS on top. Home made A7L suit replica, LEVA helmet, EVA gloves, IV boots, EVA lunar overshoes, sample collector, wrist checklist. Everything the real one had. I\'m basing it off of the post-flight suit pictures from the Apollo Lunar Surface Journal. If I can, I plan to make a water cooling system. Might be a little hard, though.

Hey sorry, everyone, I meant to put this in the spacecraft exchange. I don\'t know how to move it, but if anyone else does, that\'d be great.
