  1. When would it have been obvious that it was time to look for an "ACE"? Or was this recognized and instead, the decision was made to simply hire another "Socials" person for "Marketing" as it's more "Cost Effective"?
  2. Noted.. Thank you. At what point in a development cycle would management be able to identify a problem or limited progress with the Code Team? What steps would be taken to mitigate the problem and how long would it take for a change to bring momentum back up to an acceptable level?
  3. Aren't there "Ringers" in the software code business that have a reputation of being able to get things done? Wouldn't an ace engineering lead straighten this mess out? Or, if hired months ago, been able to make a bigger difference now?
  4. Good point. Management F-ed up. Why is art so far ahead of engineering? It's almost like Art is just doing busy work at this point? Why haven't the assets that are funding the Art team been moved over to fund a larger, better paid and experienced Code squad? I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a SOLID AND STABLE "For Science" release. Cheers
  5. Just re-read some of these replies and I laughed at this part of your quote as it occurred to me that..... It's been almost 10 months since EA release and 9 months since the reply from the forum mod regarding the joystick support. I always try to teach my two kids that procrastination and laziness will just lead to self compromise when time runs out. Cheers Great idea! Lets move that to the top of the list. On that note, who needs game controller support when I can pretend to be a Kerbal.. Cheers
  6. Kerbal Hairdos. The key phrase here is.... "but was disabled due to stability issues. It'll be re-enabled once those get ironed out." Stability issues with Controllers, or just stability issues with the game as a whole?
  7. Yeah.. The fact that KSP2 has no support for Flight Controls (Joysticks and Gamepads) actually says quite a bit about the effort put forth into atmospheric flight modeling. Can IG please make an attempt, any attempt to support, Stick, Throttle and Rudders please.. At the least, give us the ability to assign multiple analog axis and mappable buttons. Thanks
  8. I don't expect much and I would bet that the post release reviews and opinions will not be enough to convince me to install it again.
  9. When was the first mention of "For Science" and when did 0.1.5 come out? Wasn't that well before Nov 21st 2023? And yes, I miss most of the announcements, conventions, marketing events.. I uninstalled KSP2 a while ago. Waiting for development maturity and product value before I install it again. I hear bits and pieces of the KSP2 news from a friend. The uptick in Positive reviews made me a bit excited, thought I missed a patch. Do you know of anything that happened slightly before Nov 21st 2023?
  10. So great news.. Hopefully T2 and IG will get more money during Xmas for KSP2 development because reviews have gone from "Mostly Negative", to "Mostly Positive" in less than one week. This should help sell the game as casual STEAM users are looking for gift giving ideas. Great news I say for the KSP2 die hard fans, or all fans for that matter as more sales means more development effort from IG. STEAM Reviews have skyrocketed positive starting on November 21st 2023 and continue to trend in the same direction every day. Most of the positive reviews in the last week are players with incredibly low time, less than 5 hours for the most part. https://imgur.com/a/aSCubNc And strangely enough, the unbelievably high uptick in STEAM Positive reviews has not changed the metrics of KSP2 concurrent users, which is still at a abysmal low level of 150-180 average. You would think that we would see almost twice as many players playing the title? Strange. It feels as if I have missed some event, maybe an update, an announcement that could have been the catalyst for this quick and aggressive change of customer opinion. What did I miss that would cause such a quick spike? Cheers and Thanks
  11. That's fair.. So back to my original question to the devs.. How is the New KSP2 Terrain/ GFX Engine Coming Along? Cheers.
  12. Sure I did.. Why did they dumb down the effect so much? And if they did so because of performance, then what does that mean for the future of KSP2?
  13. LOL... Touche.. Nice comeback. Quick and witty, I will give ya that.
  14. I am not a texture artist, nor am I a developer, but I think you know where I am going with my last comment. And I edited my post above to help make it more generically correct. Care to comment on the point I was trying to make?
  15. Lets be honest Bro.. The video of the Reentry Effects ingame is pretty bad. 90% of that effect is a static texture graphics element that scales lengthwise as dynamic pressure changes and then the other 10% is an effect that is masking the texture with little flickers of negative space. That's really it.. Subjectively if you thought the original effect was "Too much", which I personally did not, the new effect is one thousand times "Too Little". Lets stop kidding ourselves here, if they had to "Dumb Down" Mortoc's original effect that much, to relieve rendering load, then we have a much bigger problem.
  16. Fair enough, but IMHO, performance is going to have to get 2x better to handle all the rest of the planned roadmap assets and code logic. If you consider the last item on the roadmap being 1.0, then the game is only 60-70% finished.
  17. Ohh ok. That makes sense.. Question then.. You guys released this video of Mortoc's Reentry FX ingame yesterday. https://kerbal-forum-uploads.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/monthly_2023_11/reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeentry.mp4.86aaa7c517e55516c447d3183b95f9c8.mp4 It looks "Cool", but I noticed that it looks less animated than Mortoc's original Reentry FX posted in the following video a few months ago. Why the change to a less dynamic effect?
  18. I remembered this thread from March 23. The thread died in April about a month later. I figured this must be a big deal, so I wanted to inquire. Is Mortoc still with the team and currently working full time on the KSP2 upgraded Terrain/GFX engine? Please share... will it be included with "For Science" in December 23? Cheers
  19. Because they look like this... https://x.com/KerbalSpaceP/status/1727445482476351655?s=20
