  1. They are testing the flaps for Infiniglide capability.
  2. I think they're done fiddling with the rocket on the pad, so once they park the cherry pickers they should be good to clear the area. Looks like some people are already leaving. Who's mentally prepared for a last-second abort?
  3. Well it's not a bomb right now, just an empty can. I'm sure they're tethered to the little cage, too.
  4. Teams are driving back to the pad. Hopefully thy can get things all ready for a flight.
  5. I don't think so. It must be something deliberate which comes prior to the flight, or they would have removed the tethers on the flaps when they were on the lifts. They will probably come back and remove them and then start readying for flight later today.
  6. I don't think the stream start time was ever indicative of when they actually plan to perform the test. They have all day to do it.
  7. I think that's just a generic "start of the day" time. Fin hype!
  8. You would be able to hear such sounds as your breath, heartbeat, and digestive movements. You would also be able to hear noise from objects you touch. Apart from that, there would be no sound. Not enough to hear - it would be more like a nebula through space. If there was 1 atmosphere between here and the sun, though, you'd need to wear earplugs.
  9. Jool Intercept CLOUD-ONE performed a series of several burns at Kerbin's twilight, each one raising its velocity closer to escape into solar orbit. On the final burn, it would breach Kerbin's gravitational influence and fly all the way to Jool. With science experiments, landers, and Kerbals all ready, it was time to meet the green giant and find out just what it was that they would be exploring.
  10. A lot of asteroids we could also paint white, and allow solar photon pressure to move the asteroid out of the danger zone (which is usually a hoop only a few tens or hundreds of kilometers across)
  11. I wouldn't even want to go near Jupiter because of the radiation.
  12. I think there's a third one off the side of Node 3 - they could maybe move it to the nadir port on Node 2 with the Canadarm.
  13. Yep, that's it! It's a big issue with fighting bacteria in various settings, so people will periodically switch out between a few different antibiotics to keep any one strain from getting too powerful.
  14. A vaccine filters out the viruses that can't survive it. If a few viruses happen to be immune to vaccine, due to mutations that happen randomly and without purpose, then you risk eventually ending up with those viruses becoming the common ones, and you need to modify your vaccine.
  15. Duna zombies have got to be the creepiest thing I've heard of in KSP. Well done!
  16. If the payload is mass-limited and not volume-limited, then they could use the same cabin and get more to orbit without the Superdracos.
  17. Do you think that Imgur album embedding will ever be possible again? That was a nice feature in Ye Olden Days.
  18. Ready for Departure The last of the inhabitants of CLOUD-ONE have launched from the runway at KSC in their ultra-high power rocket jet to join the space station in orbit. The Phoenix gets its name from...well, this: The effect soon fades as the plane becomes a rocket and cuts free of the air. The rest of the ride is as smooth as the liftoff is tumultuous. Now that the spaceplane is attached and the passengers are in their cabins, CLOUD-ONE is finally ready to fire its engines for Jool, the mission it was designed for...
