Thursday seems to be the day that they preview something new, hopefully today we see something really exciting.
Any minute now

Depends on the personal time warp.
ahh of course! How could I forget?
Seriously though, I can't WAIT to see what's next -

A week has passed.
It's a time to unveil the next enigma, what new has been added? What change in gameplay?
eh? It was posted on Thursday... its currently Monday, give or take some timezones. It's deffo not been a week lol

How do I build it?
over and over and over and over and over...
I have a bad habit of progressing so far and then erasing everything.. then rebuilding the crafts with slight tweaks/optimisations/aesthetic additions.
haven’t done so for a while... but probably will when the next update drops and I need to edit all the docking ports and solar panels

Guys the pods design is the exact same as the MK1-3.
I don't know how any of you haven't noticed yet.
Edit: on second thought, I'm pretty sure it is the same

MK 1-3 Revamp or MK 1-4?
I think a hypothetical MK 1-4 would be a revamp. Wasn't the last version of the pod called the 1-2 before the last revamp it received?
But yes, I was wondering what cp we were looking at in the video too...27 minutes ago, Atomic Engineer said:All I saw were the Orion Solar Panels and the Circular Panels. I must've missed soemthing.
No, you've not missed anything, you're just thinking of the word 'array' a little differently to everyone else I think.

I would LOVE curved solar panels - especially if they make them similar to the flag/decal things we have 2.5m curved would be an absolute god-send for me at the moment

These looks pretty nice!
Was hoping for a bit more info from this KSP Loading though... but that's just because I'm super excited for the next update -

Sure...bugfixes and rarely performance improvements come with each update,
But there is a lot more bugs that came with each update than are fixed.
1.11 has a LOT of bugs that came with it. Not that many were fixed.
1.8 also had a LOT of bugs that came with it. Not that many were fixed.
If that were true, wouldn't KSP have gradually got less and less stable?
As it stands we're about as stable as the game has ever been and bugs seems to be far less game breaking and less frequent than they used to be -
As a side question, where does it measure the height from exactly? Both images below feature a 2.5m panel attached to the lowest component of the craft with B set to 2.5m as above the panel is placed *after* pressing B and is only there to give a sense of height
This one is okay, albeit slightly out (I'm not *that* fussy) :and this one is a good 1.25m out for some reason:
I have another one perfectly aligned with the floor and another a good meter too high :S
and again, I do appreciate you're a busy individual and this is by far the least concerning issue you likely have at the moment -

And that isn’t close enough?
Absolutely not I mean, how dare it be 4.9cm too high!
9 hours ago, linuxgurugamer said:The save file, persistent.sfs
Ahh thank you got the little tike
I appreciate the help, I know you're an exceptionally busy individual within this community, let alone whatever else it is that you do in life Quite frankly I'm amazed you find time to eat or sleep -

Slider goes from 0 to 20, in , I believe, 0.2m increments
Closest I can get is 2.5490 or 2.4510 either side of 2.5m

which file? I can't find reference to those vars in the GameData folder

all these new parts are cool, but what about bugfixes and performance improvements?
we literally get bug fixes and improvements with every release - I don't know why you bothered asking
though we also get some fresh bugs of course... mmm juicy fresh bugss -
hey So I'm one of those people that finds the B key to be absolutely brilliant and scratches that particular itch (I think you know what I mean) I've recently noticed in settings it can be changed from 5m to whatever - (I manually do this as 5m is too high for my tastes, but i do love it being centred :)) unfortunately its one of those stupid sliders where you can get every number except the one you actually want I'm aiming for 2.5m - so I thought there must be a way to change this in a file somewhere seeing as the slider is about as useful as a chocolate teapot - but I can't find said file (I can find various settings but no reference to 5.0m setting
Any help on this one? -

The mod is called Konstruction
That should have been fairly easy for me to remember thanks haha
8 hours ago, klesh said:This game just keep giving and giving. Easily the best videogame purchase of my life. Thank you so much to everyone responsible for bringing more KSP to us.
100% - I' bought the game and all DLC at full price It's absolutely worth it to me - the way I see it more money for SQUAD keeps the game in development PLUS, even if they charged £100 for some DLC, it'd *still* far and away the best price/time spent playing game I've ever bought - thought I do hope we don't get DLC for that price lol!
-
How could I forget! While you're looking at docking ports, could we have those construction ports that "weld together" (can't remember the mod) as stock? Would be super useful in reducing part count for large craft/those with with low-end PCs

Would it be possible to get variants without the Black and Yellow warning stripes? It would really help clean up craft designs.
I hope so! I've already agreed to this in a similar comment by someone else in this thread Hopefully they see there's a fair few of us that don't like the stripes
It's a bit like the old 2.5m decoupler if you remember that@Anth12
Thanks for that, I had no idea that was an issue! I'll deffo be keeping my eye on that one - though it does seem (from JPLRepo's reply) we won't have to worry about that with the docking ports -

Awesome!!!
The only thing I'm not sure I like is the black and yellow striping on the sr docking port tho.
Other than that, looks epic!
I agree, I would quite like the stripes to go away
I always try to hide them when building anyway
3 hours ago, Anth12 said:Are they susceptible to robotic drift?
I’ve never heard of this :S got a link to a thread/image/video of it?
-
Will the new docking ports replace the old ones on existing builds/craft files?
Or will we need to update ourselves?
Thanks! -
There's not really much advantage to orbiting Kerbin... but there's not really a disadvanatge either. You're going to circularize at some stage after launch, whether you then carry on burning to reach escape velocity or not makes no difference to the amount of dV used - you might as well plot an efficient transfer while you're in orbit of Kerbin. It doesnt waste any fuel.. arguably saves you some with better planning.
also un-necessary hypen is unnecessary

Ahh sweet! These really got me going "ooh" and "ahh" like it was a firework show.
The mrs told me to shush
Could anyone answer me this... how come some part revamps are a completely new part and others are just a reskin? And crucially, what's will it be for these panels? Only I might put some work on hold because I don't fancy changing all the solar panels again lolAlso, I know im venturing into gameplay updates rather than lovely retexutes, but I hope this is indicative of a rework of the electrical system
I think it would be awesome to have crewed parts require ec over time (like how the science lab does when its working only) - as a settings option ofc -
I think I might be late to the party, and I suspect someone might have already said this...
But why not make it somewhat realistic?
Funding unlocks new parts > New parts means you can gather more science > Science gives funding.
The science itself doesn't unlock anything, but is more of a result - for example, gathering scientific data from Jupiter doesn't generate money. But it does pave the way for future expeditions by generating interest/making more funding available. Conversely, if every single rocket launch/mission in human history had failed, I doubt there would be *any* interest in funding government bodies like NASA or interest from private ventures.
I hope that makes sense, I also appreciate reality is much more nuanced and complex, but I think its a good way to boil it down to a game mechanic. Successful mission (gathering science) = more funding for developing new tech/parts. Sounds about right to me.

And after last nights comment, I’ve installed the mod.
super impressed! Less performance hit compared to real plume which is good news for my pants gpu and looks spectacular!
thanks for creating such a nice mod!
edit: omg the jet engine heat distortion for stock configs looks incredible!

Not with my pc at the moment so I can’t try Waterfall, but it looks absolutely incredibly from what I’ve seen on here!
I wouldn’t normally ask (but I’m not with my pc like I said) but is this on ckan/will be in future?

I don’t think anyone was expecting that..
Edit: I'm also not complaining
