  1. I like this music! Very nice. Context sensitive music always impresses me. I\'ve seen it once or twice... somewhere. Civilization 3 did something similar, where the tracks get more complex as you reach certain triggers. The music change check would happen at the endpoint of the loop so that the transition was smooth. So we know it can be done. For inspiration, here is the loop for designing a battle bot in Robot Arena 2, .
  2. 'We brake for shiny things' a yellow diamond with 'Warning: Kerbanauts on board!' 'Stay back 200 furlongs' 'Do not follow' I\'ll second Australian Sloth\'s idea about the duct tape. Definitely, yes.
  3. No worries, you didn\'t ruin anything. In the article, I did say But that important bit was buried in A LOT of stuff about inclination change. So it\'s easy to miss. (With infinite time to write that article, I would have punched that up, and added a screenshot of a nice rocket flying south with KSP off in the distance.)So you have actually helped a lot, by emphasizing the most efficient method. Like Rich said, peer review and scientific discussion.
  4. This might be one of those times where both answers are correct, because of a discrepancy in the way the game handles these figures. If Mun were in real life, the two methods should coincide exactly. But since we\'re dealing with a simulation, there is bound to be slight error. On the other hand, an error of 5% does seem suspicious...
  5. Thank you for filling my day with more Kerbal LOLs! http://qkme.me/3ppgwl
  6. I like the idea of loading custom decals. It\'s been done in other games too. For example, X-Beyond The Frontier had an option to load an image from the local hard drive to use as the player logo. Also, Robot Arena had decals to put on the robots. (Unfortunately, I never figured out how to hack my own images into there. I always wanted a band-aid on my robot.)
  7. I see nine. But that\'s just me. Continents are different from nations. A continent has no clear boundary. ('Is our village in northern Eurasia or southwestern Siberia?' 'Which one gets more rain?') So while I\'m very happy to see the places labelled, I don\'t think the boundaries should be drawn at all.
  8. Hey that\'s good! I usually enjoy parody lyrics anyway, but this is hokey dokey!
  9. Er, it\'s... um... because of the incredibly large amount of data being recorded, we decided the best way to transmit is by sneaker net. So the research craft is loaded with shoes terabyte drives, which will be uploaded to the cloud afterwards.
  10. Agreed, a lot! The quest for all of the (ahem, easter eggs) occupied all of my spare time for a month. (It also occupied some of the time that wasn\'t to spare!) One of them is in such an odd spot that I had to custom-build a special craft to reach it. I had to discover search techniques, solve engineering problems, crawl over steep terrain, go around obstacles... You get the idea. Finding them all the hard way is much more fun than just visiting a set of coordinates.
  11. Here ya go: Star Trek: Zefram Cochrane Being a Volume Dick
  12. So that means the space program is based on the urge to propagate the genus, and the 'male' and 'female' are actually symbiotic species. I, for one, welcome our new arboreal overlords!
  13. Sorry guys, no can do. :\'( Everyone I meet is already sick of hearing about KSP from me. It\'s all I\'ve talked about for the past few months.
  14. Why control thrust when you can contradict it for twice the cost?
  15. Awesome as always. I could benefit from such a hat. What\'s a raumfahrzheug? 'Decelerating jet'... I\'m guessing it\'s a descent module?
  16. How high you can get using only one air-breathing engine? (Hint: don\'t go straight up.)
  17. Just in case anyone hasn\'t seen this yet. It\'s Robbaz on his day off...
