While this is true, to say that they blew up and lived just didn't have quite the dramatic impact.

Well, I can't say I'm particularly skilled at the game, but I am a bit of a steampunk nerd. I would certainly be up for a good game now-and-again.

KSP .21 and Kerbal Drivers around space center.
Astrobug replied to Diewoe's topic in KSP1 Discussion
LUDICROUS DRIFT Its glorious. Clearly this is the best aspect of 0.21. -
I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for here. But going by exploration alone, a couple of my recommendations: Terraria: Fairly well known sandbox/exploration/hack-and-slash Antichamber: An interesting title similar to portal in its first-person puzzle style gameplay. Don't Starve: A silly little survival game.

This thing is the best thing. I AM THE DUSTBUNNY ANNIHILATOR. -

+1 for the hipster Choose This. Gonna become a trend. -
Another thing: I'm not sure exactly how this landing system is intended to function, but from my experience, nuclear thrusters are very fragile and should be used carefully. In cases like this, I generally use skycranes for my rovers. Just some more things to factor in. That is a boss rover, by the way. Nice work!

Oh my gosh. It looks like he's flying a lobster... I lol'd, hat's off to this vid.

FTL is also rather tough to beat in a hurry. As I heard it described once: "It's a bit like climbing a ladder. And then halfway up the ladder, someone punches you in the groin and you have to start over". That being said, it's still a tremendously fun and unique game, and reminds me of old pencil-and-paper starship RPGs I used to play with my friends back whenever. The game's atmosphere is fantastic, and you get surprisingly attached to the going-ons of your little starship crew as they hightail it from sector to sector. Terraria, on the other hand, gives you more variation with its gameplay. I went into it expecting a Minecraft clone, and got a notably different experience. Much more to do there than first meets the eye. It lies somewhere between sandbox builder and side-scrolling adventure. Given these two, though their very different games, I would probably recommend Terraria, especially if you have a friend or two to play with.

A quick virus scan might be in order. As said above, while its likely you didn't get anything, it's still a possibility. It's also probably best that you take the hyperlink down and just say the name of the website, so people know what to look for without actually being directed there. EDIT: As long as I'm here; It's worth noting I've seen some phony Java update alerts going around. I'd recommend always updating through your computer's existing updater or the official website.

I remember having tons of fun with this one. ...I should mine more kethane...

Well, thanks for that. I guess I'll forgo sleep in favor in replicating this with clampotrons.

Better to push or pull payload?
Astrobug replied to JaySmoka's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Beyond things that KSP models, I have to wonder what the effects might be of putting your payload "downwind" of your propulsion. This sounds like it would have less-than-ideal results, especially in the case of nuclear thrusters. -
Well, darn

Hey, listen! I have an idea! How about we buzz the tower?

Wallet full of sepratrons...

Tread carefully here, were dealing with an unknown substance. Who's to say it isn't wasabi paste?
-
Pumped that this is going to be a thing. While I do remember things like that Clucth Powers job, the fact that this isn't completely in-house production (I think?) bodes well. And the big question: Can we get an Orange Transparent Chainsaw?
-
At first I thought that was a quickpost meant for the Warthunder thread, I think I get it after a couple of replies though. I've done both. Not specifically a Spitfire or anything, just general "craft vs personal" flight. I don't have a ton of experience, but flying aircraft tends to be easier than willing yourself into the air for me. On the other hand, I also struggle with correctly summoning an aircraft. My personal favorite so far has been a relatively small Steampunk airship that I played around with once. Don't be afraid to get creative with it!

I saw this too, and was interested enough to go look it up later. Apparently, it is the same VA (Ellen McLain) and filter as GLaDOS, and was put in as a direct shout-out to the game. I thought it was a little odd. But still, GLaDOS! I also believe it was said the filter will be toned down to sound less Portal for the actual movie.

Congrats! It's not unusual for the first few to be over quickly, the excitement from your success can bring you out pretty quickly. My recommendation would be to stay calm, and begin focused observation of your dream. Touch, listen, feel, smell, taste if your up for it, the dream around you. This should make things significantly more vivid.
-
+1 for Dreamviews, its where I learned my stuff. And, as stated earlier, dream journals purposefully task your brain to remember enough to write down. It's tricky to remember much the first few nights, but you'll be blown away later on. I could recall 3 or 4 dreams per night when I was faithfully keeping up with it.
-
Lucid dreaming is absolutely fascinating to me, for whatever reason. It took me quite a while to really get it working, but since then I can manage to get one with only some concentrated effort. The thing that I've had the most success with is counting fingers; Hands never look right in dreams. It's also worth noting that a reality check does not induce lucidity, but confirms it. The trick is just being aware of your surroundings, especially during the day. I rarely spend time altering dreams, however. I have a strange preference to simply explore what my mind likes to churn out. Some surreal things can pop up. Oh, also, using The Force is pretty boss.

What really grinds my gears? People who can't properly drive a standard.

Kerbals stranded on Mun? Publicize your intrepid new Munar colony! On the subject of the Apollo landings, though, I believe what they had planned was a speech. The LEM ascent stage had no backup and, IIRC, was impossible to test beforehand. So if something didn't fire, there would be a permanent change of address.
