  1. Nope. Just drop your pictures in and copy over the link. It was a bit finicky for me for some reason but it should all work out. Make sure you don't delete the pictures afterwards though, that was a mistake I made :P. The forum needs the URL in order to display the picture.
  2. Took me a while to figure out how to upload pictures . What you wanna do is go to imgur.com and upload your picture there, then paste the direct link into the URL option in 'Insert other media'. Make sure the link ends with .jpg or .png if it doesn't already.
  3. 1 (+) Two charm and one strange (I hope that someone gets that :P)
  4. Very interesting design . Quite humorous with all of those parts exploding. Yea, I think it could be a fun challenge to convert it to carry a heavier payload. I see you took the payload to the Mun, very nice, but cutting down on the fuel capacity should help bring a larger payload into LKO. You actually gave me and idea for another challenge that I'll be sharing sometime .
  5. The Earth actually does have a second moon... kinda. It's actually a quasi-orbital satellite called 3753 Cruithne. Cruithne isn't really a moon of Earth as it orbits the sun primarily, but it's orbital period is almost exactly 1 year, resulting in the satellite entering the Earth's SOI quite frequently. The Earth also has a Trojan satellite orbiting at L4 called 2010 TK7 that you can look into as well. Just some things I thought were interesting .
  6. If I interpret your question correctly, you're asking how to change the ascending / descending nodes to 0.0 degrees. To do this, you want to make burns in either the normal or anti-normal directions when passing over a node. Set up a maneuver node and play around with it, you can learn a lot . Also, I highly recommend checking out Scott Manley on YouTube. He does a ton of really great videos and I'm sure you can find guides for anything KSP.
  7. So I was fascinated by NASA's new Orion spacecraft and I thought to myself "I could totally do that in KSP". Turns out I could, but my first result was terrible. Don't get me wrong, it looked the part, but the craft itself was incapable of doing anything spectacular. I then decided to do a spinoff of the Orion, what I call the Artemis (hopefully you all get that), and this is what I came up with. Statistics: dV = 5,130m/s TWR (Kerbin) = 0.25 - 0.48 Acceleration = 2.45m/s2 - 4.70m/s2 Crew Capacity = 3 Mass (Dry / Wet) = 19,089 / 24,445kg Parts = 43 Mods: Kerbal Engineer, MechJeb, Kerbal Inventory System, Kerbal Attachment System, Pathfinder, Procedural Parts I am actually quite surprised with how this turned out. The Artemis is highly capable of interplanetary travel once in LKO, acting like a crew shuttle more than an exploration vehicle. Despite this, it comes equipped with a full set of science equipment and 2000L of storage (thanks to KIS and Pathfinder). I think I'll be using this vehicle for long-term interplanetary missions when I need to ferry crew or basic supplies back and forth. The mods I am using are only there to make my life easier or add a small feature I quite enjoy. The craft can easily be converted to stock parts only if you'd like. Let me know what you guys think, if there is something I could improve, whatever, I love feedback. Also, show me what crafts you've made similar to this, I'm quite curious .
  8. Clearly, I am not very good at this whole challenge-making thing and will probably have to increase the mass of the payloads . I am very impressed by Temstar's and Nefrums' designs. I am actually quite jealous that I can't make anything close to as awesome as what I've seen thus far. I'll probably be attempting a design inspired by what you guys have posted (yes, I'm so bad at building rockets that I have to get other people to make them for me :P). Any suggestions as to how to make this more of a challenge? XD
  9. I am aware of that. Any amount of payload would result in a score >zero. What I was joking about was launching a rocket without a payload, so the payload mass is zero. No matter what amount of credits you divide by zero, it will always be undefined, which could either be the best or worst score mathematically (probably the latter as undefined is not a number and is, really, cheating) .
  10. Talk about something! I'm all alone in this dark corner of the universe / internet and I just want to talk about nerdy things :D

  11. Hey Everyone! I believe I've logged about 350+ hours into KSP now after 2 months of owning it and I absolutely love it (yes, I have way too much free time). I haven't thought of checking out the forums until now for some reason unknown to myself, but I'd really like to be an active part of the community. I kind of have a vague idea as to how the forums work, but I might be asking a bunch of silly questions in the future (note: no such thing as a stupid question ). If there is anything anyone would like to discuss, I am all for it (I'm saying this now because I love intuitive discussions but I'm not the type of person that just randomly hops into a conversation without being invited :P). Hope that all of you have a fantastic day!
  12. Using your scoring system, I can spend any amount of credits to launch nothing into orbit, giving me a divide-by-zero error and therefore a score of UNDEFINED. Does that mean I win?
  13. *UPDATED PAYLOADS* This is something that I've been experimenting with for a while. The title pretty much explains it; build a launcher for a heavy payload and recover the lifter. I'm very curious to see what you can all come up with as I really quite enjoy reusable launchers. I'm almost certain everyone will do better than me . Normal Mode: 50t payload into LKO. No asparagus staging. Recover main stage. Hard Mode: 100t payload into LKO. No asparagus staging. Recover all stages. Lowest budget possible. Rocket Scientist Mode: 150t payload into LKO. No asparagus staging. Recover all parts. Lowest budget possible. No external boosters. Ascent time <5 minutes. God Mode: Impress me.
