I try to design my rockets and ships according to the mission they should perform. make them as small as possible to do the mission safely with a bit of a margin and then add one more tank or booster to account for bad flying, a bug, or something else unexpected. But sometimes it also is fun to send a 1000 ton craft to the Mun just for fun.

And my insterstellar career continues with Episode 3 and this time I do some science spamming at the KSC and explain how you can do it too in the early career mode if you need some extra science and then i try a first UNMANNED Mun-Flyby without any upgrades to the KSC. This was a really hard one to pull of because of "Remote-Tech", the 30 part restriction and my need to be able to send back some science at the Mun. I hope you enjoy it: Next episode I will send some Kerbals to check out the Mun in person and start on some sort of Remote-Tech Network.

  4. In time surely. After I get enough science to build myself a nice fleet I will do some sort of grand tour around the system.
  5. Update Number 2 to my Interstellar series of Kerbal Space Program. Today I built myself a vessel to get a few more science to get my space program of the ground and also built my first Rocket capable of getting into a proper orbit of the Planet Kerbin. Hope you enjoy it.
  6. Sometimes i start a new career with a new update if the changes are significant. And otherwise my goals depend on the mods i play with. when i play with interstellar and some colonization mods i see "THE END" when i colonized Duna and at least Laythe and established some sort of trade route system between my colonies. If i play unmodded which i don't do very often i just finish the tech tree and some missions that seem to be a challange and then see it as done.
  7. I don't know about the missing stock chutes so a Screenshot would really help to identify the problem, and if you are not opposed to mods you could look at the Real Chutes Post. It adds realistic Chutes and realistic Chute behavior that makes using them much more fun and realistic.
  8. Hmm the design looks ok, enough lift and thrust. I think it may really be the "buggy" runway. I do the "drive to the grass and start from there so naturally in my games because the first one is so uneven, that i hadn't thought about it.
  9. Without screenshots I can only speculate, but i had a similar issue in the past where planes would just pick up speed till the end of the runway and not be able to take of. My problem was, that my plane with all Wings and stuff was perfectly level with the ground, so I did not get enough uplift to take of. The second possibility i can think of without a screenshot is that you may not have enough lift all together for the plane to take of. This is all speculation, if you can post a few Screenshots I/we could help you a lot better

Yes like the posters before me already said, you can make copies of the "Kerbal Space Program" folder that is located in you steam directory and just copy it somewhere else. that is how i have my steam version always without any mods and updated to the latest version, and i have another Folder on my Hard drive with a few different KSP Folders with different mods installed. That way you can have one for Real Solar System mod, one for Interstellar Mod, and any other versions that you would like to have. Also makes sure any update does not immediately break you modded game.

I finally made the step I have been an active reader of this forum and player of KSP since the early days of the beta and have now decided to start and get active in the forum. I will try and focus on helping new players get the hang of the game and posting answers in the "Questions" portion of the Forum. I have clocked in about 800 Hours of KSP, both modded and unmodded versions and am at the moment starting my first Video series of a modded KSP Career. I hope i will lean to love this forum as an active member as much as i already loved it as a passive reader and I'l see you guys in the future. Have a nice day!
