[1.7.2] KK Launchers - Delta, Atlas Pack
AlphaKerman replied to Kartoffelkuchen's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
@Kartoffelkuchen, greatly appreciated. I had successfully revert to 1.1.3 (yay). I know it's not easy to build all these, but when you doing it with you passion, it just make things happy and fun. Still, this mod is still my favorite ones. And good luck with your ULA pack! -
It's interesting type of rocket though. Alternating of liquids and solids
-
In Andy Weir reality for sure. Without that, this discussion wouldn't exist

Well, yeah even though it has not much radioactive materials, most RTG powered spacecraft launch still making some concerns. And I just read the crew profile https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5TJ8ckMgQFnNnRzMjdFeHAxTXc/view So, Johansen was working with SpaceX?
-
Hmm, I've never noticed that. But to me it would more like Cygnus pressurized module, though it's only 3/4 of the pressurized module size. And BTW, if it would powered by RTG, the first IRIS launch would be a radioactive disaster (if the casing was broke).

@Kartoffelkuchen Wow, that looks awesome! And here if anyone wonder, Raptor: They say it's not much bigger than Merlin, but 3 times the operating pressure and 3 times more thrust -
[1.7.2] KK Launchers - Delta, Atlas Pack
AlphaKerman replied to Kartoffelkuchen's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Well, i mean will all ULA collection Delta's, Atlas and the future Vulcan-ACES? I'm not really satisfied with my D.I.Y Delta II though . Also@Kartoffelkuchen will there any possibility that you will continue the Delta III launcher too? (Though it wasn't ULA's launcher) -
[1.7.2] KK Launchers - Delta, Atlas Pack

Can i know what's in the pack? *PS: Never mind, it might going to ruin the element of surprise -
The Atlas V SRB a.k.a AJ-60A nozzle is fixed at a 3 degree cant away from the attachment point, so it will thrusting towards (near) the center of gravity of the rocket, pretty much like Space Shuttle did. For MUOS 5 launch, someone actually ask but for 551 configuration, the RD-180 is gimbaling 1.5 degree off center, it may higher with 411 config as it has max gimbal range of 8 degrees. As 4 in 411 stands for fairing size. 4 means 4.2 meters that come from the original Atlas II with diameter size with three different length: 9 (original), 10 and 11 meters. While 5 means 5.4 diameter (with 4.57 usable room) with 3 different length: 10, 13 and 16, developed and built by RUAG Space that uses carbon fiber composite based on the flight proven Ariane 5 fairing. Note that this fairing also encapsulated the centaur upper stage. 500 series 400 series Hope that helps you

BTW let's wait until tomorrow for OSIRIS-REX launch that also use the 411 config. I'll be ask in the social media (psst, you guys should ask too! ) and hope they will answer it.

Guid = 121a4f49-9043-4759-bae6-91fc59e8d6bc Name = Biak Spaceport Latitude = -1.07669 Longitude = 136.38605 Height = 310 Well, here we have an equatorial launch site. Situated at only 1 degree Latitude, very excellent for Geostationary missions and had clear Pacific ocean due east so it's safe for rocket stages disposal. -

Is there any antenna mods that has parts that resemble like this? It's a gigantic reflector that call AstroMesh developed by Northrop Grumman. And it's kinda look cool . Thanks

Those two size aren't even close. In fact, the entire New Shepard could fit inside Falcon 9's first stage oxidizer tank
