I don't think this is a bug. When you deleted the craft, you deleted the saved file. The one on the launchpad had already been launched, so it doesn't need to refer to the saved craft file at all.

The craft was never launched, never used, never even loaded for launch.  It was built in the VAB, then when I had exhausted all patience on how to delete a simple part, I used the pause menu to reset it.

So...how does it show up on the launch pad if it was never loaded there?

Bugs...countless bugs.  Thats how.  Glad I waited from July 2016 to January 2018 for the same garbage.  Whats worst, Take Two put their name on this...

Yes  but the port was built from the ground up nothing from FTE exist.

    Or so they claim...

Don't take me to be someone who is just out to trash this game, but rather someone who is tired of being disappointed.

  2. I find the PS4 controls to be crap to be honest.

The instructions in game are poor.  I spent 30 minutes just trying to figure out how to scrap a part in the VAB because the instruction manual in game doesn't mention it at all.  I shouldn't need to go onto the forum to find out how to play the game.

Even after I entirely delete the rocket from the pause menu (what idiot said it was a good idea to put it or the LAUNCH button in the pause menu should have been fired), it still shows up on the launch pad until I "recover" the space craft that I deleted.  How this wasn't "found" during the many months of debugging is beyond me...or further proving Squad overstated the work that was actually being performed.

I don't see a single smooth way to access science equipment mounted on the craft during flight (trying to get science while climbing in elevation) because I have to steer with my joystick, but then due to rotation I can't get hte cursor fast enough to touch something on the  craft. There is no short hand way to interact with equipment on the rocket.

I don't buy for a single second that this is a rebuild of the game.  This at best appears like they took the old version, and said...ok...correct the issues as best you can.

Finally, when these issues are identified, the Squad response is "we will fix it with a patch shortly"....meaning you knew the issues, and STILL sent it out the door.  Maybe the PC guys are ok with this, but with console games, you expect a finished product, this iterations crap is unacceptable.

What makes you think they don't have a due date?

What makes you think they do?

@Swacer  squad has nothing left to repay its customers, for me (at least) i've received far more than i ever payed for!

    • appreciation that game devs CAN make accurate simulators fun, and can continue to grow a project they obviously love (without resorting to milking it for every cent like some other companies..)
    • an unexpected lesson in orbital mechanics
    • an introduction to, and deeper understanding of, aerodynamics (still cant decide if newton beats bernoulli for lift though..)
    • a keen interest in the history of space flight (from horseback to the moon in only a lifetime?! wow!)
    • rekindled passion for physics and the sciences of space
    • hope for the greater future for mankind (thanks Elon!)

Even if the hamburger that squad serves up is a little messy from time to time, it still tastes great :P

Maybe i would feel the same if I had a playable game...but 15 months after purchase...adn I still have nothing.

Imagine if you just turned in work that wasn’t complete and didn’t function. Especially when your job was to clean up after someone who did exactly that, before you...

You're right, and typically when a company screws up so badly, they do something to make up for putting it to the customer.

Squad on the other hand, has done nothing to repay the customers who purchased the half ass first version.  No Discount on something else, no partial refund, literally they have gotten away scott free for really messing up.

But I guess a year worth the fixing with no end date..that fixes everything, right?

I feel some of you treat Squad with the mentality of going to McDonalds, you make an order, they screw it up entirely, but you tell them "its ok, you tried"

Just be glad they're actually trying to fix it.  I think we've all bought that one game during a Steam Sale that inevitably doesn't work on Windows 10, if it ever worked at all.

"Trying to fix" is the huge key phrase here.  I'm really doubting they have any idea how to make this work at this point....  I feel its the blind leading the blind.

  6. Is there going to be a certain point where Squad just admits the console version will never come out and refunds us some money? I mean, heck, there are some of us that have had a broken game sitting on our harddrive for over a year.  Perhaps I should charge for taking up space?

  7. Squad, are you ever going to provide a DATE for the Console fix?

Most companies do their fans a decent favor and put a line in the sand with a release date as to when they may get to see a game/update.  Providing comments each week of "Submitting builds, testing builds....blah blah blah"  has become nothing but noise without any true sign of progress.  I've had the game for just short of a year now in which it has sat on my PS4 harddrive and done nothing, and I have no true sign of that ever changing.

How about providing a date, and attempt to actually meet it?

To be fair, had you read my later posts concerning point 1, I clearly stated, and shall again: I either misremembered what I read or read something wrong on that point. I then conceded it to the first person who corrected it.

Now <takes a deep calming breath> @Warzouz Please understand me. You think my statements are justifications. They are emphatically not. They are truth, they are fact. Allow me to reiterate:

Fact: Squad is a SMALL operation that (not sure if still connected to the parent corp) at its start when Felipe started KSP was a Commercial Advertising Company, most likely still is, that makes games on the side or in a newly formed subdivision. They run on a microscopic budget with a small team for a game house. Especially when compared to titans like Square-Enix, EA, DICE, Microsoft etc.

Fact: Blitworks or Flying Tiger (still unclear on who is porting) is working multiple projects.

Fact: Porting is time intensive, expensive, complicated.

Fact: KSP is being translated (every aspect of that word applies) to multiple languages, both in terms of what is spoken by us humans and computer devices. This takes time.

Fact: this causes bugs in the extreme. A fix for a bug on PC may break something for both XB1 AND PS4. This isn't easy even when you do like say Square-Enix and FFXIV for XB1, PS4, PC AND iOS on MAC, and they have tremendous amounts of money. Squad doesn't. The company doing the port doesn't in all likely hood.

This list can go on ad infinitum but, the bottom line?

Its a slow, expensive, complicated process. Either accept it or don't. I have said all I am willing to say on this.

More excuses.  If you are incapable of producing something, then don't bother trying.  Half-assing something is worthless.

Squad has subsequently hired BlitWorks to substantially revisit the porting work they'd paid for once already, it's not like they've hung the console users out to dry and washed their hands of it, even if the timeline feels unacceptable, or even punitive.

Submitting PSN and XBLM updates costs a bundle (think ~five figures per platform per patch), plus takes a great deal of paperwork with bureaucratic approval to push through which means PS4/XBOne users can't get the kind of rapdi-fire/ad-hoc partial/beta/pre-release updates Steam/SquadStore users have recently gotten (if they opt in to help with the QA/QC portions of the release), GOG users have the same issue (no pre's) due to similar platform specific approval process.

It's happening, possibly (almost certainly) not as fast as either Squad or you would like, but it is happening.

How expensive it is for an update is entirely irrelevant to a customer.  Maybe had Squad provided the customer with a finished game originally, they wouldn't need to concern themselves with the cost of an update.

I emailed both Squad and Blitworks, they will not give us console players a clear release date. They will just give you a run around saying that it's coming soon and you should talk to Blitworks on Squad side and vice versa. I have a feeling that the consoles won't receive an update until late July, exactly a year after it was released.

On a side note I've filed a negative review with the Better Business Bureau against Squad, Flying Tiger Entertainment, Playstation, and Xbox One; for allowing a broken game to be released early before it was properly tested, making the console players their personal guinea pigs.

And they will continue to do such because there is no accountability for neither Squad, Flying Tiger, or Blitworks.  They have your money, and know that you will continue to sit and sit and sit, so there is little incentive for them to get anything out to us.

Maybe it would be a good idea for all console owners to submit reviews to the BBB.  Get their attention that way because they honestly have no interest in giving a legit response.

Or you could read the KSP Weeklies and see that they're being worked on, with interface improvements as well. It's clear that they are putting resources into the console versions.

"being worked on"  Doesn't mean much when we've been waiting over a year for something worthwhile.

Maybe there should have been a $30 refund as a "good faith return" while they produced a playable game (they get to keep $10 of it the original purchase)?

  12. I have been doing a lot of reading on the site about transfer windows when going beyond Minmus, but one thing I've noticed was a lot of people were using mods on their PC in order to know when the appropriate time was to utilize these windows. Since the mods (like Kerbal Alarm Clock) can't be used on the consoles, how does one go about finding these transfer windows and be able to utilize them?

  13. I know that getting readouts of DeltaV and TWR are mods for the PC versions, but is there any consideration/plan of how to add this to the consoles?  Honestly, I think it would be best if they were part of the game to begin with, and based upon the mode you pick for career, you get the option of having them or not (Normal - Gets both; higher difficulty gets option to use them).

I understand there are differences with the PC version and the Consoles, but this is something that would be HUGE to know in the game on every version and would certainly help rid me of the annoying trial and error.

  14. My question is rather simple, but I can't figure out the button combination.  For a rescue mission, I am within 2km of the stranded ship, but I don't know how to make the stranded kerbal get out of their ship.  Watching a scott manley episode, he says how to do it with a keyboard, I need to know how to do it for a ps4.

    How do you switch control?

  15. I preordered the limited edition of NMS about 6 months ago on amazon long before I knew about KSP.  However, my NMS arrived on Tuesday, and it hasn't even been opened yet.  There is just something so addicting about the trial and error of KSP that keep you stuck to it.  There are times when I just shut it off while cussing and yelling, and then times like yesterday, where I finally got our dear Bob Kerman to the Mun, orbited it, and then successfully made it home with 175 science, which makes you just stand up and cheer.

Is NMS great? No idea....for now, Jeb is preparing for a Mun landing.
