  1. I'm no computer expert or anything, but from what I've read about the xbox one x so far, they're saying that all older xbox games will run smoother, have better framerate and shorter loading times on the new console. Supposedly it will eliminate any jagged egdes on things, have better colours and just generally look slightly more nice than on a standard xbox. To make full use of the extra power the games require extra input from the developer to make it a 'xbox one x enhanced' title. That will involve things like 4k and HDR etc. I believe that 360 games run on some kind of emulator, so that could be why they dont run any better on more powerful hardware. In fact, I'm pretty sure some games run worse, I remember reading about it somewhere. I could be wrong though.
  2. I would imagine they're waiting to see how well the 1.2.2 release goes on console before they make any decisions regarding future updates.
  3. I wholeheartedly agree, heres the whole report for clarity, looks like squad and their families are ok.
  4. A short one this week because of the earthquakes in Mexico...
  5. October would be nice, but I'm starting to think even November would be optimistic. Perhaps if we're lucky we'll get it before xmas.
  6. It's that time again... Don't hold your breath for September guys.
  7. Another week goes by...
  8. I've been wondering about this one myself. I don't know if it's possible, given how complex games are these days, to find and eliminate every single bug before a game is released. I mean, pretty much every game that comes out gets a patch at some point. There are always a few sneaky ones that make it through testing and don't get dicovered until you have thousands of people playing the game in thousands of different ways. There must be a particular point in the development of any game where the devs must say "it's time to stop looking, let's go for release", but it must be a difficult decision to make. However, as deddly pointed out, we don't know when these particular bugs were found, or how long they may have been working on fixing them. Also, some of them sound like they would be quite gamebreaking, maybe not as bad as losing all your saves, but still exceptionally annoying should you encounter them, with the potential risk of losing progress. After everything that's happened, can you imagine the backlash they would get if they released the game now with those kinds of bugs still in it? I know that you've said before legendaryace that you would be happy enough to play a slightly buggy version and help test it for a patch (as would I when it comes to it), but I know there are a great many people who would not be so forgiving, and getting a new version of the game that is still buggy would be the last straw. It seems clear to me that squad is playing it safe with this one and we'll just have to grit our teeth and be patient.
  9. I share your frustration, but I wouldn't say that we're completely in the dark. They've been giving us fairly detailed reports on their bug hunting efforts in the recent weeklies (weeklys?) and although that's nowhere near as nice as a solid release date, I can kind of understand why that may be difficult for them to give. If they don't know what kind of bugs they might still find, then they won't know how long it may take them to fix those bugs. Also taking into consideration the serious misfire of the original "early 2017" release date, I can understand why they would be hesitant to give another potentially erroneous date for us to fume over when it doesn't pan out. Still, I have to agree that some form of in-game compensation would certainly go a long way towards repairing relations with us console folks. Something to think about, right squad?
  10. Aren't we already getting the commnet, kerbnet, fuelflow and improved wheels for free? Actually, now that I think of it, I have no idea if any of that stuff was paid dlc on pc or not. I think I just assumed it was because of the emphasis on 'FREE' in the original post.
  11. It's been quiet around here lately, I guess there's not much left to be said until it finally releases. Here's the weekly if anyone's still watching...
  12. Yeah, you're probably right, it's just hard to be optimistic sometimes when the further you travel down the road, the longer the road seems to get.
  13. Yeah this threw me a little bit. A while back they were talking about it being in the final stages, now theyre saying theyre still working on the controls? Perhaps theyre making it in reverse?
  14. I get my hopes up every week and as a result I exist in a permanent state of disappointment.
  15. In the weekly... Also... ...I've had dreams like that before, not about ksp specifically, but it's usually about something I want but cant have. For example, waay back when the 360 came out, I wanted one so I could play oblivion but couldn't afford it. I remember having a really vivid dream that I was finally playing it, the disappointment when you wake up is crushing
  16. In the weekly: Would it be too optimistic to expect it in another few weeks at the most? I'll cross my fingers but I won't hold my breath.
  17. I remember reading somewhere that our old saves would still be useable but if you want to make use of the new features like kerbnet and commnet you would need to start a new game. I can't remember for the life of me where I read that though, I can't seem to find it anywhere, so I don't know how reliable that info is. As for making history, I don't think anyone knows if we're getting that or not. I doubt we'll find out before it releases on PC.
  18. This week, more of the same...
  19. I fear it's too late for that, I mean it was still being sold until about a week ago. My guess is anyone who would have been put off already has been. I fear this because if the community dies we won't get any dlc. As such, if the new port is a resounding success, I'll be telling everyone I can that it's fixed and they should buy it. I already know a couple of friends of mine have held off buying until it's fixed.
  20. It's still possible if they get it into certification sometime this week, but as you say it's unlikely. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed though because I'm off work next week and it would be amazing if I could spend all week going into space.
