  1. I dont know if it's just laziness, low standards or some technical problem, but it is quite annoying sometimes. I find it's the games where you most need to change something that have the least options.
  2. I'm interested to see what kind of changes they've made and what new options we'll have. I'm not crossing my fingers or anything, but I'd quite like to be able move and resize hud elements. I always thought the navball was a little big and being in the centre it would get in the way when trying to land. A delta-v calculator would be nice too, but I'm fairly certain we aren't getting that.
  3. They just need a disclaimer. "This is when we would like it to be released BUT if problems arise it could take significantly longer." Just to know its in the final stages though is excellent, I'm seriously looking forward to getting stuck in again.
  4. Isnt 'boring' entirely subjective? Some people might find such a report fascinating and enlightening. Im glad that we lowly console players get any mention at all in the weekly, but just look at the 30+ lines of info the new making history expansion gets compared to the measly 5 lines the console update gets and you can surely understand where the frustration lies. Though I understand that this is probably largely to do with the fact that squad is making the expansion and blitworks are responsible for the port. Maybe blitworks need to give more info? A detailed breakdown of what they are doing and what they still plan on doing would be nice, but if it takes too much time away from actually working on it, I think I would rather they just kept working.
  5. Dont forget, even if they were to finish it tomorrow, there would still be a couple weeks of certification to wait through. Seems unlikely we'll get it before the year marker.
  6. The latest from the weekly.
  7. As excited as I am about a better control scheme, this new info is a little depressing. A while back they had said they were just testing for bugs, to make sure everything was working properly, which made it sound like they were mostly finished and just wrapping things up. If theyre still in the process of adding new things like this menu thing, it could mean theyre still months away from releasing this damn update. Couldnt they have fixed the major issues first, like the save problem, then released all the other improvements in a separate update later down the line? All this waiting is torture.
  8. I dont know where you got the idea that I was praising or defending anyone.
  9. It's playable in a purely pedantic sense, in that technically you can play it, so long as you're willing to put up with irritating instability and an inability to reliably save progress. In the same way that game preview and early access games in alpha stage are technically playable, but clearly in no way finished.
  10. I got it on xbox when it came out and managed to play almost every day for about 2 months before my saves just disappeared. It just made it all the more frustrating to get so far only to have my progress erased. Also, there are the many hours lost before that due to crashes. So sure, its playable, but the frustration it causes and the potential to be sent back to square one at any time kills the enjoyment for me. Needless to say, I cant bloody wait for this update, hurry it up Blitworks! Also, any chance of a delta-V calculator?
  11. Really they should have said "Mid 2017". That way if it came out earlier we could only be pleasantly surprised.
  12. I dont know about on pc, but on xbox it seems to cause all manner of performance drops, glitches and crashes. The most annoying one is where you discover halfway through a mission that you can no longer save, load or return to space centre and have to close the game and reopen to fix. Its basically the same as if the game had crashed, except the game doesnt tell you about it, and you continue playing for ages before realising you have to restart and load the last save. Evil.
  13. Thanks to everyone for all the info, its much appreciated Perhaps they should make a separate board for consoles, but then we would lose out on all the valuable experience of the seasoned pc players .
  14. Is there any reason to keep old satellites in orbit? Ive done a few sat contracts and they always say something along the lines of "this satellite shall henceforth belong to insert company name here". I already have the money and rewards for the contract and the space around kerbin is getting cluttered, so does it even matter if i just destroy them all?
  15. (Im on xone in case that makes a difference) So I got my first couple of rescue missions and played through the docking tutorial to learn the basics of intercepting, but when I tried to apply this knowledge to my career game it seemed impossible. The problem is in the tutorial youre going from a low orbit to a higher one with a lot of space in between. In my game, those in need of rescue are already in a really low orbit (about 84km) but if I put myself in a lower orbit to transfer up, there isnt enough space. No matter where I move the maneuver node to I simply cant get the intercept things (forget what you call them) to line up. It doesnt help of course that the nodes are ridiculously fiddly to set up, at least on console. If I try going from higher to lower orbit then it seems my projected path will lead me down into the atmosphere again. What I would like to know, is there an easier way of doing this that I havent thought of? An alternative method altogether? Also, I havent unlocked docking hatches yet, im assuming ill be able to just eva the kerbals from one craft to the other?
