  1. I am actually looking more for something in maybe Word / Excel format that can be printed... Something to physically write and track information. Here might be a basic example of information to be included: Date: Vessel Name: Mission Description: Departure Date / Time: Expected Return Date / Time: Delta V Available by Stage (1, 2, 3, 4) Pre-Flight Inspection Checklist Notes Pre-Flight Notes Post-Flight
  2. Hi all- Has anyone created any good charts / trackers to use for journaling flights in KSP? What I mean is that you would capture the time of each burn, how much delta V fuel used vs. expected, overall mission objectives, things learned / do betters for next time? Basically I'm looking for things related to flight planning and capturing information about each flight. Sorry, I'm sure there are better terms for this stuff. Thanks in advance.
  3. I'm on an '08 PC and run low graphics settings. No one plays KSP for the 'blow me away' visuals. Game is sweet even with basic graphics!
  4. Facts only mattered previously. In 2016-17, facts don't mean much. Hence... Dres doesn't exist. #DresNeverExisted #NoDres #Notthereactually
  5. How do you deploy '10 or more probes' at Eve? Every encounter (literal) that I have with the planet results in explosions! How do you get them all slowed down enough for entry and then landing? Actually, no one has ever been to Dres. Ever.
  6. Well the plan was to rescue Mielle Kerman from Duna orbit. Who knows how she got herself stranded. I would have some sense of it if I could've seen the wreckage of her ship. But I wouldn't be so lucky. While making the rescue I was also going to send down a lander to collect science. Big gas tank and nuke would stay circling the planet. Lander would go down and return. Game glitched in a way I haven't seen before. As soon as I left Kerbin orbit my solar orbit was WAY OUT, like far enough to get a Jool or Eeloo encounter. I stuck to the plan to encounter Duna. But then spent a ton of delta V getting woah'ed up enough to land. So nearly out of gas we crash landed the whole lot: The three of us, plus the would be rescue circling the planet, are here just waiting. No antenna contact, cuz we're manned so why use an antenna? Let us know if you're coming through the Duna system any time soon. Could use a pick me up!
  7. Thanks everyone! I'll watch the video after work. I normally push the smaller asteroids and this is the first time I've tried capturing a Size E asteroid, and I read it was better to pull that to push it. I don't currently use the mods for tweakscale or KAS struts, but might need to check them out. Point taken about cheating the physics engine. I'd rather not cheat doing it the right way.
  8. Yesterday I launched the "Multi-Collector" for rescue contracts and general rescues: Releasing a pod after a rescue:
  9. Finally caught up with this thing just to find out that I could fire at full thrust and make no change in orbit. I assume these nukes need more room to operate. Does this seem too close?
  10. Just linking to this since this is the forum I normally check for updates and would have missed this entirely if it wasn't linked to in another post. Also..... discuss! After finally giving up on PS4 version and switching to PC I'm still really excited to see this update. I miss trophies.
  11. If I get too far into a mission and have a failure I won't revert to launch. I try to find a solution to the problem. A recent example was launching a ship in two parts with the intention to assemble them in orbit. They had different docking ports though so they couldn't connect. Rather than revert I launched a third vessel with a connector to solve the issue. If NASA spent millions getting two ships in orbit and they couldn't connect, they would have to engineer a solution rather than starting over. That's how I play.
  12. Wow it did? That's awful. For crafts with higher mass you could waste a good minute waiting for it to get it right and sometimes it simply couldn't. I am kinda glad I'm relatively late to the KSP experience!
  13. I have been playing this buggy PS4 version for several months now and I just finally downloaded the PC version. I kept thinking my 2008 PC wouldn't play it well after seeing how the demo ran on it, but turns out it runs fine after I turned down the graphics. It would be hard to go back for me even at this point to the PS4 until a lot is fixed. There are things I didn't even realize are broken that make all the difference. Like being able to not disengage the autopilot anytime I need to click on a part. Or the way the autopilot finds the correct direction without turning so fast that it overshoots it and you have to wait for the ship to rotate back (like if you tell it to point to the maneuver for example). So many small things that make it a more enjoyable experience, and I haven't even gotten into all of the mods available. I do really miss the joystick for flying. But as many have pointed out you can attach a controller to your PC if you wish.
  14. Maybe you're answering the original poster? At any rate I am resigning from the convo, haha.
  15. PS4 - Anyone notice that any parts that are meant to make a rocket more aerodynamic just greatly reduce the effectiveness of it? For example, launch a single stage rocket with a solid rocket booster and see how high it goes. Put an aerodynamic top on the rocket and do the same launch. You get considerably less high with the aerodynamic part! It's like the only thing taken into consideration is the increased weight.
