I used the most part of favourite crafts on this picture. And now this is my youtube cover.

This is Eve aerodynamics at 1.2.1
-
Thanks a lot! :3 I've already started making new videos. Also, I'm planning to add more types of experiments.

Good day! We are looking for the best aerodynamic model, in passing figuring out the properties and characteristics of certain parts in KSP 1.2.1. Finding the golden mean between minimalistic craft and one large fairing is a very important aspect of the game. At this time, I've written a series of video experiments for you to see firsthand the effectiveness of different models. These five KSPeriments relate to Kerbin. How to make the perfect craft? Let's find out! I'm going to regularly update this thread with new videos. But, sure, you can always see new experiments there: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLTc4sm01Q9olAZW008Kn5i63YrURAoCzB This is my KSPeriments playlist. Feel free to comment and ask anything. English is not my native language, but I'm sure I can explain all that's required. Thanks for watching! :3

Do something nobody has done before
Luch replied to quasarrgames's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Fullmetal armored propeller plane! Seems absolutely indestructible. The flying speed is always below 80 m/s, the crashing speed. Litobraking is the most effective way to land it when you're bored. Hydrobraking now is under development. Limitations: not for Kerbin -

I've already returned one satellite with science data. By the way, all scientific data costs just like on Kerbin. This is more like achievement than the science gaining. -

Hedgehog airdrop time! -
Yes, I've got there completely fair (and very inefficiently). That kind of planes would survive re-entry very well, at supersonic speed it's a big aerobrake instead of a plane. I even recorded a video explaining how it works, but it's in Russian, cause I didn't plan to show it to English-speaking part of community. It's required to set engines at very low speed on Duna (and at high atmosphere of other planets), because they'll break down if will rotate too fast. In addition, KSP 1.2 requires powerful antenna, otherwise unmanned modules won't work. Also, I'm planning to record more videos with low-tech career electroplanes in future. This time, it should be more international.

Hmmm... I've made it again!

Russian Localization of 1.2
Luch replied to Luch's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Oh, this is very good translation, indeed. Actually, this is for parts only, and my version is for everything, so my contribution will be significant. But if I'd known it earlier, it would take less work. It won't be too difficult to make an unofficial patch, but the way I'll do it certainly won't be approved by the Suic Squad. I know, no one's excited when somebody gutting results of his work and making Frankenstein's monster from them. So if I can get any information about the prospects of the game, I will use it, otherwise I'll do Russian interface from the German, and re-design KSPedia at all. Thank you for answering! -
Absolutely stable electro prop craft. No yaw issues because of two mirror propellers rolling in opposite directions. Powerful enough to be at higher atmosphere. Two 1222 kg propellers make 14120 kg craft fly up to 8 km altitude. Actual load: 5 kerbals, 3000 kg of rocket fuel/oxidiser, a lot of science parts (material labs, goo, etc), 2 rocket engines, antenna, lights, batteries. Two opposite engines technology, too.

I have a serious question. What about localization? Russia is, definitely, a country associated with the space. But there are no official russian version of KSP. So I translated it. Recently I translated the descriptions of all parts of the game (1.1.3), given the subtlety, humor and specific stylistic features. I know the Russian language well, for example, I fit A.I.R.B.R.A.K.E.S. abbreviation in Russian word A.E.R.O.T.O.R.M.O.Z., saving the whole point. Also, I translated companies' descriptions, strategies, etc. Russian community appreciated my translation and made it recommended. I could translate the texts of contracts, interface and encyclopedia, but it's harder to do because of more changing the game files. So I haven't decided to do that, because the format of these files may completely change during development and everything I do can become useless. Some phrases can be translated using the module manager functions, some phrases can be translated only by taking root in the game files. It's impossible to make a complete translation in the mod format. So I want to ask the developers. Is it possible to make the language files more universal? Or perhaps you can tell how exactly you'll change the files. And can I get KSPedia textless screens? Or perhaps the miracle happens and you'll make a single format for all game sentences, and even scientist in the lab won't disappear, even if he'll be called "ucheniy". I'll be very grateful, and not just me. Therefor, I can at least offer you russian localization of 1.2 for free, and maybe I'll do something else. Thanks for the answer.

What's behind the fine words about the future of the game? I hope everything will be better and better. I really like the version 1.2, but... I allude to the fact that scares me. When developers are planning to create a something new, they are talking about make new engines, chassis, heat shields, antennas and so on. When developers do not plan to do anything, they talk about the bright future, great prospects and how good that we are all together. Chassis and heat shields must be seen to believe in them, instead of bright future that everyone can fantasize. And if someone doesn't see the greatness of the future and the wonderful prospects, we can say that he simply doesn't understand this.

Coincidentally, I've started the prop research yesterday. I'm planning to make quadcopter-like electro craft to deliver rockets/planes at 25km. Also, there is a simple propeller SSTO concept. It isn't real SSTO for now (2nd stage at 5 km isn't what I wanted), but I'm enough willful engineer to finish it. This kind of orbiting seems to be very boring. Btw, I'll do it. What do you think, should I make video with flying process and prop engine coustruction?
