Confusion over corrupted saves lost data
MrCalvinator replied to DutyStalker's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (Console)
I have the PS4 version, too, and a weird thing happened when it crashed and corrupted. I managed to get into my save before the PS4 made it disappear, and all that was wrong was the craft files, and they were just missing. All of my landed craft, such as my Mun base, were all working perfectly. Everything was normal except for the craft files, and the constant "save data is corrupted" screen every five seconds. The corruptions must have to do with those craft files, and how they're stored. I wonder if adding more storage to the PS4 would fix it, or replacing it with SSDs. -
I was going to Minmus in my prize rocket: Everything went beautifully, until... the lander tipped. ...really? Well, I ended up successfully getting back, just with only one parachute! Phew! And it was all worth it, with 1200 science! Stressful, though. I'm sure Bob is relieved!

This is the longest thread I have ever seen. Anyways, I made a jet with tracking missiles. All stock. Mach 2. oh yeah. Also, did docking for the first time in my life.
-
So, a challenge of patience.
-
Oh. My apologies. What should I do now? Should I do it, then post it? @Chiron0224

This challenge is weird, and takes patience. It's also quite simple. Build a ship to visit every planet, and a lander to land on them. The trick is, you can only use the Dawn Engine to get to every planet. However, you can use liquid fuel to build the ship. And liquid fuel for the ONE lander. But that's it! So, you need: 1 ship, with as many Dawn Engines as you wish/need, 1 lander, and whatever else you want. 1 lander, with whatever you need. 1 Kerbol System. At least 1 Kerbal. Rulez: Ship must be powered only by the dawn engine. The lander is the only thing powered by liquid fuel. Ship and lander must be separate, and be attached by docking. No mods, however, MechJeb IS allowed. Good Luck! Ask me if you have any questions.

Can you make a course for supersonic craft? @Vlos
-
Sorry, I didn't mean to sound so rude.
-
Mmkay. Using a phone... So.
-
Ok. I'll check it out.
-
Ok. That's cool. It should have medium/ large landing gear on the rear wings. And, um, what does PM mean? I'm incredibly new here. oh. Personal message.
-
No. I think it's from the patch that made the whiplash jet longer. (Late 1.1 era) Perhaps you could use the older versions to see what it looks like, then recreate it using the new update. Maybe.
-
Could you also put some pictures of it on? Possibly even a video? It's been a while, and I want to get all nostalgic about it. Thanks!

Check this out:. It's an old design I have of a plane, and I want to see if it'll work for this. As of now, I don't have time to try it on my own, so... Can you try it for me? Plane file link: Fest When you fly with it, be CAREFUL! It's extremely swerve-y. I think. It's been awhile. It's also supersonic. Hence the name. And, make the rear wheels not steer. I think I forgot to do that. Also, it's overpowered.

How do I use the EVA jetpack? PS4
MrCalvinator replied to Deafiroth's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
To go up and down with a Kerbonaut, use L2, and R2. I don't remember which one goes to which, but, I'm sure you can figure it out. (I think). Also, the buttons are the same for both consoles. For PC, it's Shift(up) and Control(down). Hope that helps! Derp, didn't see the first answer. Unobservant me... -
Apologies, everyone, forgot to say this is on PS4.

I've had the same problem as well, and it has killed me countless times. (RIP Jeb) Thanks for the workaround, and I think this was more of an overlooked thing, rather than a bug. (Too many in the console versions). However, have you experienced a massive punch(it pushes you away) from your spacecraft when you do that?(without your workaround) It also happens when I try to grab a ladder when my spacecraft is upside-down. I've had it happen several times, and that's definitely a bug. Any reasons? Fixes?

I was doing my R&D a favor by going to the mun. I tried an unplanned landing, since I was tired of flybys, and decided to take a risk. In the end, I stranded Jeb. So, I made a rescue craft, and landed it about 20 km away from good ol Jeb, and decided take some fun jumps with Jeb. I jumped so high, and fast, I killed him a couple of times. (sorry, Jeb) I realized that if I slammed into the ground hard enough, I would bounce, and the Kerbals would freak out, and magically survive. It was really funny. ( to do this, you go up, and forward in EVA, and then, at the peak of your ascent, go down, and spam the jump button.(don't go too high, or fast. Go about 100-150 m/s)). It ended up crashing my game, since I quicksaved when the Kerbals were flipping out, then quickloaded. This is more of a notice, than a question, but, whatever, right? Why does this happen, and why is it so FUNNY?!

PS4 Maneuver Nodes not working
MrCalvinator replied to MrCalvinator's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (Console)
Thank you very much for your extremely quick response. (Wow). I'll try that. If it works, will I have to do that every time my capability of putting nodes down disappears? And, also, on an unrelated note, do you have any advice for doing a flyby of a planet? I'm very new with it. -
So, I was playing KSP (REALLY?!) on my PS4, and I decided to try an interplanetary flyby. I got into orbit around the sun just fine, with maneuver nodes, but once in orbit,(around the sun), I could no longer place nodes! My ship was ion powered, so I kind of needed those. Anyone know what's going on? If there's a solution?
