Anyways, I don't want for people to think that I'm some kind of villain here. I'm not trying to disrespect or bring Squad down by any means. I just love this game too much and don't want it to drown in bugs. It needs attention. That's why I'm so vocal about it, I don't usually do this stuff.

What do you think? As usual, just going to introduce more features that are not necessarily needed and pile even more bugs on top (not intentionally, of course. I'm not saying that they do this on purpose), with some fixes for the previous ones. I follow the development of this game from like 2013, maybe even longer than that, and to be fair, I NEVER seen even one singular release devoted to just fixing bugs and nothing else (I'm talking about major releases, not about x.x.1 x.x.2 x.x.3 etc). If you are implying that I can't be 100% sure that they are not going to do a release of just bugfixes - maybe you are correct. But the history of releases says me something completely different. I would be absolutely surprised if they are going to listen and the next patch is going to only fix bugs. If that happens, I'm going to be the first at the door screaming at the top of my lungs that I wasn't correct and how much I regret saying stuff like this. But for now, we have what we have.

That's why they need to do something the whole community is begging for at this point: the ONLY BUG FIX release. Do not add anything, just fix the bugs. To show that they really care and not just half care. Whole four months should be more than enough to at least close some of the more significant ones. But are they going to do that? Highly doubt it.

Some time ago there actually was a way to set your own priority. But they got rid of it and now it's all set to low by default. And you know what else they did that's completely and utterly ridiculous? THEY ALLOWED EVERYBODY TO CONFIRM BUGS. Not a singular developer needs to even check that stuff now, any random person can confirm any bug. That seems like a good decision the first time you think about it, but If I had to guess, that is why they lose track of them. They are just opening the bug tracker and seeing a bunch of "Confirmed" there and think to themselves "Hmm, that one is confirmed, it must be confirmed by another developer, so my work here isn't needed" and they just ignore it. It was a little harsh and that's completely intentional. The past three releases piled up so many bugs, I just can't be all good and sympathizing anymore. This needs to stop for the sake of the community that love this game.

Squad doesn't know what a hotfix is. Wait four months (or even more) or live with it. That's the agenda here. Players don't matter.

It does that above Eve as well. Look just below the altimeter. It doesn't do that on Laythe or Duna by the look of it.
-
Disable pitch, yaw and roll controls on them. There's buttons for that if you right click on the part.
-
Might have something to do with this bug. I usually try not to create more than one node at a time, all the secondaries lose precision very quickly after the first node is done because I'm doing it all by hand.
-
It's not the zoom that's doing that. You just need to be below the scaled space change altitude of 160 km. I zoomed out to show the effect fully.
-
I made a white variant for it. It always seemed strange to use a space shuttle cockpit that has some thermal protection tiles textured in on planes.
-
Glad to see that response, but the team definitely missed some of the important ones in the previous releases. The prioritization is really important. We can live with some little bugs in the interface, but when kerbals start dying due to bugs in the terrain system - that one surely need some attention ASAP. Walking on the surface of the planet is an essential part of the game.

@linuxgurugamer The fix worked. Hidden orbits did persist through all scene changes and I didn't see any NREs in the console. The MapView input lock did find its way into the flight scene, but it clears itself one second after exiting the map mode, so all good here. The toolbar icon did show in the flight scene the first time I launched a craft, but after I toggled the map mode once, it disappeared. I don't think that's a big problem. Thank you.

Came to the same conclusion after some testing and came up with this thing. In forward flight it flies like a dream. Transition is a little bit rough and yaw control is not that great, but it can't all be perfect now, can it. In some areas Squad really nailed it with this update, in the others... Not so much.
-
Ok, I'll test it a little bit later.
-
I'll get back to you on that one. Is there a specific version of the game I need to test this on, or is the latest one fine, considering firda's confirmation of this happening in 1.9 as well?
-
@TriggerAu Are you guys even going to try to fix bugs that were reported in the previous versions of the game? Like this one, for example? Or this? Maybe this? <- Originally reported back in 1.7, 10 months ago. Or even this? That last one I reported back in 1.8.0, someone confirmed it and then just silence. 1.8.1 - no fix. Now 1.9.0 - still no fix. Furthermore, you managed to reintroduce one of the bugs that was fixed back into the game. Broken dlcs is a trend, apparently. Aside from the dlcs, is dying for no reason kerbals not a priority to fix? Or is this becoming normal now for the game to be half broken and the communication between the player base and Squad being somewhere in oblivion? We report this stuff for a reason. Why if the bug is not fixed immediately after the release, you just forget about it? They're not going to just magically go away by themselves. How much do we need to whine everywhere to be heard?

I launched a rocket, created a maneuver node and executed it, then got into the tracking station, exited to the space center screen, entered the VAB, got a probe with a battery and launched it to the launchpad. After this I opened the map mode and it started the NREs. Then I switched back to the rocket and all of the above started to happen.
-
WOW, JUST WOW. You really did it, Squad. You actually updated the game BACKWARDS. Bug that was fixed in the previous version of the game is back in the game again.

@linuxgurugamer Here, I got both of the log files after those NREs happened in 1.8.1. They are happening every time you open or close the map mode. I don't know what causes it in the first place though. KSP.log: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1FA2F61QwxGIveigg4bUMop3Mde_bVPuc Player.log: https://drive.google.com/open?id=11P6UfHfDQMQlGmqXjCvO8POGTkkEP5wF Considering the input locks, I think it has something to do with the map mode. After the main NRE starts to happen, each time you go into the map mode and then close it, it locks the controls with the MapView input lock. If you clear it, it will return as soon as you open and close the map again. And it also can't persist hidden orbits, they show every time you toggle the map mode.

@linuxgurugamer We need some thoughts on this.

When you hold mod+wasd, it takes a while to get to the correct trim position. The slider moves slow, that's what I'm referring to. The dissymmetry changes with airspeed as you said and you absolutely can't use SAS with a conventional helicopter. It's not compensating roll with singular main rotor at all, so you need to just disable SAS and use trim, which is not going to hold anything as SAS would. Also, you can't use trim with SAS, it just disables itself. I'm not even going to talk about slowing down and what's happening with trimmed helicopter then. It's just a nightmare if you don't have a joystick. That is why I think this situation should be at least looked at.
-
No, that's not it. I had that problem before, but quickly figured it out. Right now it's just not showing at all.

Nobody's issue is a priority these days, no matter how serious it is. Kerbals getting killed for just trying to converse the terrain? Yeah, that's fine. Robotics doesn't work properly? Who cares, it's not like people paid money for this or something. Crafts sliding everywhere? No biggie. What is a priority then? Where is the line drawn? How do they expect people to play this game if it's broken in so many places and not a single fix is getting implemented is beyond me. The bug fix section in 1.9's change log is just a joke. Four months for this? What kind of workflow do they have? At this point it's just easier to accept the mindset of "they are done fixing any bugs people are finding, it's too hard for them" and be done with this game. They need to start fixing issues if they want people to enjoy their game. At this point it's hardly enjoyable, you just jump through hoops and doing barrel rolls to avoid bugs everywhere you go. This is not how it supposed to be at all.

I seems like ambient occlusion doesn't work as it should in 1.9. Due to changes in the camera systems, I guess. Maybe something else broke.
