Yes, it appears that moving the data transmitter module to the top has resolved the issue. -

I've made the change. Now the long wait for KSP to load with so many modules installed, lol... -

I checked the medium sized rectenna and it does not have the same issue. The major difference I noticed is the animation modules are listed in the .cfg after the data transmitter module. I suspect reordering the modules in the .cfg would resolve the issue, but I have not tested it. -

You could go the other way and increase the electrical power requirements for the NF engines. Or you could leave it to the player as there are other mods that do not balance well together. If I think of something else, I'll post the idea. Regarding the FELA, I'm talking about using it as a data transmitter, not as a power transmitter. For example, for my solar power satellite, I only get partial control of the probe core without either a relay or doing the test rotation animation on the FELA. If you like, I can make a video to demonstrate the issue. -

With v1.11.15 With v1.11.17 As you can see, the efficiency is still higher in the second image, but the power is much lower. I used your craft file for the test, except that I put in a longer truss section so there was no clipping of the radiator into the solar array. I do have many other mods installed, but the only change between the two images was the version of KSPI-E. As a side note, it appears that the radiators are under powered relative to the solar array (yes, I have NF Electric installed) since I was at >2Mm but the craft would overheat and explode if left long enough, but this is the example craft you posted earlier in this thread except for the length of the truss. Even in the current version of KSPI-E with the greatly reduced power output of the solar array, it will still overheat and explode. Also, did you notice my earlier bug report about using the FELA as a data transmitter requiring that you do the test rotation before it can be used? It seems that KSP thinks it must be "deployed" before use since there is an animation module in the .cfg before the transmitter module. -

Is there a reason that the Solar Thermal Power Mirror Receiver no longer generates as much power as it did in version 1.11.15? It appears to generate approximately 1/40th as much power as before at the same distance from the sun. Is there something that must be changed about my vessel to achieve the same results as before? -

I've not had any problems with anything overheating when i switch to the vessel. I tested it extensively with a lot of saves further out just in case. I think I have sufficient cooling for everything else to handle a moment under direct sunlight. I also was careful to choose parts with high temperature tolerances for as much as I could. I believe the FELA is the worst at 1800K. I have had random problems with warp causing the FELA to explode, but I only needed to use warp while adjusting the orbit. On a side note, there is a bug with the FELA forcing you to "deploy" it before it can be used as a data transmitter. You "deploy" it by doing the test rotation animation. I assume changing the order of the modules in the configuration would resolve the issue as there is no issue with the medium rectenna transceiver. -

Yes, 20m for most of it. It is a solar satellite based on the large solar array scaled up to 20m. It also has a folding warp drive and 6 EM drives around the center of mass after losing the boosters. It has 8 of the wrapped microwave arrays being used as radiators. They are not scaled up. I can get it close to 100,000km altitude to the sun with the solar array being the critical component for temp. -

Go big or go home! Okay, I might be a little crazy... but it actually makes it to orbit!
