  1. Goodbye, Duna! Valentina has left the surface of Ike and is now going home!
  2. Todays main event: I also decided to fly to one of the "?" you see in KerbNet, close to the south pole, around the same longitude as KSC. I didn't have a fast airplane then, so I quickly built an SR-71 clone copy. She has a too high AOA at low speeds in my opinion, but at 866m/s, I can't complain: Just 25 minutes later, I arrive at the other continent and start looking. I now assume that it was a Monolith (I didn't find it, unfortunately): After looking for 10 minutes, I decided to land and end the mission. Nice touchdown speeds of 86m/s. (Scenery is the main focus of the image, though)
  3. How can a black hole even rotate? If I understood correctly, the "black" of the black hole is just the area where light can't reach your eye (i.e. event horizon?), right? It isn't a physical border, just a point at which the lack of photons starts. So only the singularity itself could rotate?
  4. Class E in orbit of Minmus. And I accepted that one. It was in the previous 1.2.2 save, though.
  5. Capturing the first asteroid in my 1.3 career. Spot it! How about now? More pictures: Aside from that, I took the opportunity to make a screenshot of my CommNet mess:
  6. Granted, but it's so outdated you don't know what to do with it. I wish I could go to space.
  7. I'm not against mods, I just don't use them (yet). I play KSP on a seperate machine and I want to wait until I have a computer capable of running KSP. I already have a few mods I want to try, like Principia, KER, and maybe a few others like Scatterer. I just want some nice additions to the game without changing too much.
  8. If you could orbit around a black hole with your eyes exactly at the event horizon (or better yet; one inside, the other outside), what would you see?
  9. Let's do another Mun landing today. Who knows, maybe I'll even find... ...the... ...Armstrong memorial.
  10. Hitting land instead of water. Yes. That is my pet peeve. Often I land just short of the coast.
  11. Here's another tip: When doing long burns with probes in LKO, like burning to the Mun, make sure that you'll have connection until the end of your burn! There's nothing more frustrating than losing the ability to shut down your engines and slowly seeing the fuel decrease all the way to 0.
  12. You don't need to do that. They will work regardless of orientation. But if you want to do that: Probe cores more advanced than the OCTO or Stayputnik can hold prograde and retrograde, but it will stop turning as soon as you leave the vessel. Synchronous need a apoapsis and a periapsis that have a semi major axis of 2,863,394m. So if you know one of them, you can calculate the other as 2SMA=Ap+Pe, therefore Ap/Pe= 2SMA-Pe/Ap. I assume you talk about transfer/launch windows? For the Mun, you can start burning 45-90° ahead of the Mun's current position. For Minmus, I simple keep burning until I get my encounter, to be honest. And if you want to get to a different planet: There are online calculators that give you angles. For Kerbin-Duna, wait until Duna is slightly behind Kerbin's tangent. For Kerbin-Eve, wait until Eve's tangent points at Kerbin. Oh, and of course, Welcome to the forums.
  13. That's not what I meant. I'm already talking about mirror symmetry mode, but it isn't acting along the axis I want it to. Is it possible to change the mirror axis?
  14. Is it possible to change the direction mirror symmetry acts in?
  15. Shading looks a bit weird. Why is the upper, lit side darker?
  16. The real question is: What is it that is unnamed? The spacecraft or the company?
  17. "Christkind"? Are you austrian? Because I've never heard that in Germany... And also: How close are you to your mic?
  18. Granted. You get a bomb that it impossible to diffuse. I wish for the speed of light to be slightly faster.
  19. Granted, but... what are you trying to do with all that "deadly neurotoxin"? (Portal reference; just in case someone didn't get that) I wish for infinity wishes!
  20. My Ike lander had a minor Kraken attack during it's way to Duna, things moved all over the place and one gear got destroyed. Fortunately I had a quicksave from not too long ago, so I still managed to do my very first landing on a body outside Kerbin's SOI. Speaking of landing: I'm getting quite good at landing my lifter at the Space Center again. The only problem is... the landing legs don't provide a lot of room for tilting. But it's manageable.
  21. Do you have a service bay on your probe? You can repeatedly open and close it to get of the ground. Not that I ever had to do that on any of my landings...
  22. Landed the first stage of my 2.5m lifters close to KSC successfully today. Not just once, but twice! The first landing took some attempts, mainly getting the location right and not burning up brakes or landing legs. After I figured out everything about approaching the KSC, the second landing was successful first try.
  23. I think it only visually rounds but still uses the correct numbers. I've seen Blender go past four decimal places, so three shouldn't be a problem anyway.
