  1. You just... don't try, from Eve. Everything else, sure...
  2. Aren't Bluedog parts scaled down to stock-compatible sizes? I'm using RSS...
  3. So, what exactly fills in the earliest nodes in this pack for certain trees? I installed it along with like 60 other mods and there were still lots of random empty nodes in the earlier and later parts of it... Even the StayPutnik didn't come up until three nodes deep! Does this have something to do with Ven's?
  4. That's normal life in KSP for me... 4 hours designing, 25 minutes maneuvering, a few minutes actually using my design.
  5. I put him in a space station where he's less likely to be accidentally ker(b)sploded. Then again, I never was the best at docking...
  6. It was an OKTO2, so I got that right... Unfortunately it was sitting right on top of the heatshield, with everything else above it. Next time I think I'll try heat shield -> Oscar-B fuel tank -> probe core -> battery instead.
  7. Yep, my first tiny Eve landers were supposed to use it. There were several of them intended to detach from the orbiter and land in various places. As it turns out, for some reason my probe cores heated up anyway. I ended up using larger, better-shielded probes. :\ I might try the concept again, but this time with the probe core further back in the stack... The problem then will just be antenna power.
  8. Bump? Apparently we're never getting a full revamp of everything, so this is now a bit more relevant.
  9. Why the hell are people taking "compass" in a game context, to mean "a device utilizing a magnet to align with a planet's magnetosphere and determine your approximate orientation, typically using a free-floating magnet in liquid which can result in wobble"... when "compass" for ingame navigation purposes only ever means "a UI element that indicates your exact orientation relative to the cardinal directions"? Whoever or whatever implied that it would need to somehow simulate the behaviour of the real device? The OP is just asking for some way to orientate yourself in a forward-facing ground/air vehicle such as a rover or plane, as the navball's north mark isn't particularly useful in that situation... is that so complicated?
  10. Gets two crew to orbit. If I didn't hate part clipping so much, I could probably put a mk1 can in the cargo bay somewhere and get three crew up there, but ultimately my goal was just to build a teeny tiny SSTO. This one uses RAPIERs to achieve a long suborbital trajectory, then fires the ion engines to achieve orbit. From there it has plenty of dV for rendezvousing or whatever you might want to do in orbit, and carries a little extra LF for zipping around in-atmo after you reenter. Surprisingly the 'test flight' of this had a use, as I needed to get two pilots down from my station. It's called 'Sunny' because it's best to launch this thing at dawn or so to maximize initial ion burn time. Once you're in orbit things are a little more flexible. (I should add more batteries.)
