  1. Try lifting off and immediately banking toward your target, preferably not going too fast, but getting a bit of altitude (200-300 m at most, I'd say). Then you can point your vessel up and stay off the ground until you reach your target. Once you're close to it, land normally, and you should be able to get within 50m of it. After that, it's just a matter of practice.
  2. Safer for the player than for the Kerbals indeed! Welcome aboard and fly safe!
  3. And welcome from France
  4. Moved to Mission Reports. I'll have a fried booster and some Eve oceanic water, please.
  5. Welcome aboard! I'm not sure about groups/clans per se, but feel free to join us on the IRC at #kspofficial on irc.esper.net, you'll find lots of people willing to help you there.
  6. This kind of orbit is not possible in KSP, as it uses orbital precession to stay aligned with the Sun. In KSP, Kerbin's gravitational field is perfectly even, so you can only simulate a Sun-synchronous orbit for a few orbits.
  7. I split these posts from the KGSS thread; feel free to rename this thread, though.
Perso je me suis arrêté à64 km/s :
  9. The space bar is only used to advance in the staging of a craft. When ships are docked, it is not uncommon that the staging is a bit messed up. When in doubt, right click!
  10. Moving this to the Games section. I know it's KSP-related, but it seems there are more post about finding a subtitle than there are posting another screenshot
  11. Docking ports should always work, whatever the parts they're connected to (if any, but I haven't actually tried to dock to a single docking port, floating alone in space...). Maybe if you can post a screenshot of your issue, we could find a solution? Some basic checks meanwhile: are the ports the same size? Are they placed properly? (i.e. not reversed, and attached at the proper node, since it's easy to misplace them in the VAB/SPH)
  12. Sounds to me like your issue with bigger rockets is structural integrity. You might want to add MOAR struts, especially for the lifter stages, and struts between stages as well. Don't forget launch clamps to keep your rocket in place before you launch, and it shouldn't explode there anymore. As for the rocket design itself, I would suggest one or several Nervas for the interplanetary stage, as they require very little fuel. Some other people might be able to give your better suggestions, though
  13. Hi there, Action groups work using symmetry, but I think this is not an issue in your situation. Simply put, yes, you can set up action groups for several groups of engines. Just choose "Toggle Engine" from the list, and you're good to go.
  14. Welcome l'ami ! Je vois aussi que tu es plutôt bon en anglais, ça me change d'un certain autre forum francophone, où àla fois le français et l'anglais sont... hasardeux ? (pas sur KSP, ledit forum)
  15. No, actually, here's the full story: Also, do not, ever, try to have a Kerbal re-enter Kerbin's atmosphere at... unreasonable speeds
  16. Mmm, looks like a common illness for Kerbals: Luckily it is "easy" to cure, in some situations... (where's my re-entry video, again? )
  17. Oula, miracle, un Pongo sauvage ! Cet individu se promène régulièrement (tous les jours, en fait) sur le chan IRC français, n'hésitez pas ànous rejoindre sur #kspfrench, sur irc.esper.net !
  18. The rules don't seem to prohibit the use of infini-fuel (though common sense would, since mods aren't allowed ) so here's my try: Around 60 km/s, and it takes but a few seconds to splash into the water...
  19. Awesome digital paint job, this picture looks really good
  20. Next up is the KSP Fan-Works section, with this month's featured thread being Rareden's kerbin art, for the great quality of his work!
  21. "One does not simply post while in precision control mode" aka caps lock. While this if of course the default binding, I would greatly appreciate it if you used proper capitalization of words, instead of all caps
  22. En retard, mais bienvenue aux nouveaux !
  23. This is a glitch that I like to call the Universe-breaker. Not too sure how it happens, but it will basically destroy everything... crashing into the ground sometimes triggers it.
  24. Here's mine: when people complain, when people complain about people who complain, and when people complain about those people who complain about people complaining... Wait a minute, that means that right now, I'm complaining about people who complain about - nevermind
