  1. STS-4/4R in Stock Size RSS. STS-4's mission is to launch the Earth Station One root module. However, the ullage motors don't fire, and we need to send a rescue mission. It also did STS-5 (set up a station module), does this count? Mods used: Kerbal Engineer Redux for readouts. Ven's Stock Part Revamp for the new parts and cool looks for old ones. CXAerospace for docking ports and the payload. Real Fuels for real fuels. Procedural Parts for the fuel tank. Stock Size RSS for the real solar system in Kerbal scale. RealPlume, Engine Lighting, Collision FX for visual effects. ED: Forgot about Cormorant Aeronology for the orbiter.
  2. I've been out of here for a while now, I think I'll try to do the STS-4 in Stock Size RSS tomorrow. Unfortunately, Cormorant Aeronology isn't compatible with Real Fuels, so I have to find a way to fit the fuel somewhere.
  3. Uhh. There appears to be nothing in the save. No flights. There's also a directory with no name in the zip. It contains nothing. I think I'll just move the refueling depot to the inland KSC with Vessel Mover.
  4. No, I think I missed that post somehow. I'll do the proper mission today then. By the way, the Marcus can (and usually does) land vertically thanks to the struts on the nose.
  5. Sometimes on really harsh reentries, on Eve especially, long and narrow stuff flips and overheats. So why not add a radial heatshield to fit of surfaces with barely any protection?
  6. Here's my entry. Introducing: FAR Marcus I decided to do a mission with an ore tank, since the rover won't work on my version. It carries 6 pilots, 16 troopers, and 15,5 tons payload. It's fully stock, but I tested it with Ferram Aerospace. The drill is suppposed to be a gun, it looks kinda similar. Link to craft - https://kerbalx.com/telomce/Marcus
  7. Welp. The craft is finished, and I tested it with some of my rovers. Unfortunately, as I said, the rover isn't compatible with my version, but why is that? Were there even new parts added in 1.2.1 - 1.3?
  8. I'm in. Going for a RATOL with FAR. ED: Oops. Incompatible with my KSP 1.2.0. What the heck? There is no FAR for KSP 1.3!
  9. Here's a shot of my new & cheapest (in the long run) creation. It's fully reusable (if you have stage recovery mods), orbital, and the orbiter only uses solid fuel and monopropellant, and costs 12k funds! Click on the album since the embedded album has arrangement issues. It's stock by the way.
  10. IR mechanisms require engineering done to do what you want them to do, as well as support stuff (i.e. struts). So as long as you make your own mechanisms (which is inevitable), you can qualify for anything.
  11. I don't think this is what SM meant. You can go anywhere you want, and STS-2 requires you to go over LKO. But if you can manage the asteroid, you'll manage the interplanetary missions.
  12. Is completing the STS-9 mission for an Astronaut badge considered completing the mission to move on to the interplanetary challenges? PS. I moved just about yesterday, my big ol tower PC will get shipped in like a week. Working on paper now.
  13. A little question about the STS-3 challenge - can the MMUs be merged with the panels? So it's like a kerbal sits on top of the panel and then docks it.
  14. If that's the second stage, I can't imagine what the first looks like. ED: A question to SM/Alchemist - Is Interstellar mod viable? These things are big and weighty.
  15. STS-2a in the same craft. Mods are the same as in the STS-1A. (http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/156151-shuttle-challenge-v4-the-12x-sts-thread-stock-and-mod-friendly-new-mission-100217/&do=findComment&comment=3057306) When I finished the mission I realised those were NOT relay antennae. But technically I did the challenge, right? right? RIGHT?
  16. Wow. It turns out I has launching the STS-1 with under a half of its fuel. I think it might even be capable of going to the Mun and back in just the basic configuration.
  17. The 3-in-1 Matryoshka Shuttle WIP... sort of. It used to be 4-in-1, but I had problems with that. Along with the mods in the pictures, I also have Modular Rocket Systems. I forgot to take a pic of the orbit. However, on the last pic you can see MET = >1d. You can't spend so much time at 100km without being in orbit.
  18. STS-1A in a... Space Shuttle? The landing was quite bumpy and I ended up turning around. Thank you!
  19. Do the words "capable of horizontal landing" mean that the missions have to include horizontal landing, or rather that the craft should prove to be able to land horizontally, but when it did land so once, it can land like a rocket? Basically, can I land some missions horizontally and others vertically as long as I use the same craft?
