  1. Not entirely true about the surface, because it is still fun to explore even after you've done all the science
  2. Hey all, been thinking about this idea awhile. That is why not make the water biomes more interesting. The idea is that the KSP developers should add stock parts to build small science submersibles, and then make the terrain under water more interesting. This would add a lot more things to do in the game. Though some people might say that submersibles have nothing to do space and planet exploration, I disagree. My reasoning is that to planets (besides Kerbin) are at least 50% water (I know Laythe is more) Without anyway to explore under the water, Eve and Laythe are mostly barren planets as there is nothing to do on the water except float. And hey if it means that you can explore the ocean on Kerbin, that's just a bonus. Thoughts?
  3. That's what I'm talking about LS that you can toggle
  4. Even if they don't add an LS an assortment of base parts would give the game so much more.
  5. I know that would add so much more content to the game, and more objectives and goals.
  6. Hey guys, my idea here is to add parts to construct actual planet bases, with a life support system. I know you can get both of these things in mods, (In fact I'm running a mod that gives me planetary base parts) but I think they should add a life support system and base parts to make them stock. One because it would add so much more to the game, two because I know for some people mods can slow their game down, and I think something like this should be in the game anyway. Plus as I found out with an earlier idea, that the game developers try to keep the game realistic (Which I totally understand) and this would not really be detracting from the realism of the game, in fact a life support system would make it more realistic (if people new to the game found having to add a life support system to their ships to hard for them the game developers could make the life support system an option when a person is creating a new game) Any comments?
  7. OK, I know it might not be possible in real life, I suggested this because I thought it would be fun. I wasn't aware that the game developers were trying to stay grounded on a mostly realistic basis. So now I see that nothing like that is ever going to happen in KSP for those reasons, but hey the idea was pretty fun.
  8. That is what I'm taking about. I know plenty about science, I'm saying adding something like that would make the game more interesting. Plus it would only be slightly unrealistic unlike other things in the game like magic boulders, the fact that a kerbal can hit the ground at 20 meters per second, and not die (that's 1200 meters a minuet, and 72000 meters an hour) how is that realistic?
  9. But it still has a solid core, and Kerbals have some advanced tech so its possible they could have suits to withstand that kind of pressure.
  10. Oh, OK I can do it though. How do I tell which version of KSP I am running?
  11. I've seen this done before, but not as a challenge. The challenge is to launch a rocket, with a probe payload, around Ike and then launch the probe into an orbit next to the magic boulder. Then fly the rocket back to Kerbin. Rules: Both rocket and probe must be made of stock parts, The probe MUST be stationed in orbit almost close enough to touch the magic boulder. While the rocket does not need to land at the KSC it does however, need to be landed in one piece. Both the rocket and the probe can be manned or a drone. The probe must have a communications link with Kerbin after the rocket is gone. Size and parts do not matter as long as every thing is stock. The trip can take as long as you want, since speed is not the point of this challenge. Enjoy!
  12. I know your saying that it shouldn't be possible, but it would very cool. (BTW gas giants do have some sort of core) P.S. - What is the members reputation below everyone's profile pictures?
  13. I quite agree, with that. or maybe if they don't make Jool a planet you can land on. Maybe they should make it a planet you can fly safely through and do science in it and stuff.
  14. Well I meant that this is a video game, not real life so they can do anything they want. Plus if they did add a planet texture below the covering of gas, it wouldn't be that impossible to land on. (BTW Jool has been landed on before, but I'm saying to give it a planet core to land on here is a good video of it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WriMi5R72Pc ) And why would anybody not like the idea of given Jool a landable planet core under the gas covering?
  15. Hey guys I was wondering do the KSP game developers ever use any of the ideas put forward in this forum?
  16. Plus Kerbals have very advanced space tech. With the space technology we have today, we can only put stuff on Mars and the Moon. Kerbals on the other hand have the tech to conquer their solar system. Why not assume they have the tech to land on a gas giant?
  17. Maybe they could add a new part like a zoology lab? I know some mods give you those, but I think it would be worth it to make a part like that stock.
  18. I know everyone says that you are not supposed to be able to land on a gas giant, but there is no real reason for this other than the fact that no one has landed anything on Jupiter. Also this is KSP, and even though you guys say it it impossible KSP already has some things that are impossible. Plus who doesn't agree that this would make a really fun challenge in the game?
  19. Hey all I was playing my KSP and in the middle of capturing an asteroid, when I had this idea. Why not make it possible to land on Jool? I was thinking that they should keep the green gas cloud totally around it to impossible to see anything but green, until it disappears like 150M from the surface and then give Jool a planet surface that always looks like it is night time. I thought this would be fun challenge to, not only make Jool a Kerbal destination, but to also make a cool challenge for someone to try and land on a planet where you can't see the ground until you've almost landed. Any thoughts?
