  1. I launched vertically until the SRB ran out of fuel and burned towards the horizon. On PS4 I can only rotate the rocket at set intervals, so I don't believe that I can match that angle unless there is a different way to rotate that I don't know about. I guess I will have to work on inclining my orbit but to be honest ive not had a lot of patience with this game recently.
  2. I did exactly as you said and I was able to get into a fairly decent orbit with it not tilted at launch but it drifted west a little. Tilted it just became a ballistic missile no matter what. Ill see if I can get it into the required orbit. Edit: I have no idea how to get into that orbit. I can get my AP and PE to 12k km (only with the maneuver nodes, don't know if theres enough fuel it was pretty low) but can't get them lined up at all. (Sorry, I aaccidentally hit send on an incomplete message before this edit)
  3. I like the SRB idea, I didn't use them because then I couldn't feed the center booster but thats a good workaround. I have it strutted properly at the bottom, just hard to see. Don't you have to get to Kerbin orbit before getting to the Mun, though? Thats what I did, anyways.
  4. I have another rocket like this just without the outer boosters and I can get that one into orbit very consistently. There are some fuel lines connecting to the center booster(maybe thats a small difference) and it seems to fully refill the center booster when I decouple them. (Im not sure if that happens on PC) Also worthy to note that the service bays are very wonky. I can fit 5 or 6 rechargable batteries in one and a drone core. I thought that may cause problems so I made 2 service bays one for batteries, but I still have one clipping into my main booster. Maybe that can cause some slight physics changes. And theres always a possibility that my game is bugged or that PS4 is indeed a bit different. What about memory leaks, too many parts (this craft crashed my game once), etc. Or, as always, theres always the user not being experienced enough or just plain dumb or bad at multitasking, etc.. Theres far too many variables here to form a concrete solution. Thanks for trying, everyone!
  5. I got this "thing" into a lunar orbit and back to Kerbin...(blew up in atmosphere) Though, for some reason, I can barely get into a Kerbin orbit now. Perhaps the part of my brain required to perform simple tasks died somewhere between losing my quicksave and blowing up on my return trip. Ive never heard of that before. Also im on PS4 so I don't think its a feature for me.
  6. Small correction here. Also the engines on the sides are made up of 2 FL-T800 fuel tanks a piece. (If that even matters) I like the winglets there to help with steering, so that I can have all 4 "reliant" engines. Also I tested with and without winglets (with center engine "swivel") and the results are quite different at first but end up being the same.. (Note that I followed the prograde marker on the navball all the way up) I 'spun out' far sooner without winglets at 2,300 meters and with them I was able to get to 10k meters before flipping out.
  7. @Spricigo You may be right about the over-engineered part because I basically just put satellite stuff on my Mun orbiter. It weighs 47.5 tons and my target orbit is 12km AP and 10km PE with 11.8° inclination.
  8. @Ohm is Futile @bewing Well, I figured out one big thing I was doing wrong. And I gotta say... I feel like an idiot. I thought that the "Reliant" engines had gimbals... Ok, so, I have replaced the middle engine with "swivel" so ill see how that goes.
  9. @Ohm is Futile: All of the engines have swivel. I thought that you were supposed to put the clamps at the bottom-most part of the rocket? I think you mean to have the decouplers in the middle of the boosters? I will fix that. Also I do have struts at the bottom. You can very slightly see them if you zoom in. Those are winglets with control surfaces, will those still cause a problem?
  10. Ah, okay, that makes sense. Should I add another booster so that its equal on all sides, then?
  11. Its strutted near the bottom you just cant see it in the pic. Its very stable in flight so thats not the problem. The problem is that when I turn east for my gravity turn it starts to kinda fall north and rotate around the inner circle. Its hard to explain.
  12. http://Imgur.com/kl4Xdpb Everything works fine until I try to make my gravity turn and it tilts north and goes out of control. Ive tried throttling down as I ascend but it still happens.
  13. @Zhetaan Thanks! And, actually, since the time of posting I have made an orbit around the Mun and are attempting to make a return trip. All I need is to do is add a heat shield and im golden!
  14. The orbit for the rescue mission I have is about 80/80 so that parts easy but I don't know exactly how to rendezvous. I can get into the exact orbit that hes in but I don't know what to do from there. As for my tech I have all of tier 3 (not counting "start") , fuel systems, electrics, and I have maneuver nodes unlocked. Also, you may want to know that I have a rocket that can orbit the Mun and return to Kerbin. Maybe I could put a service bay with a drone core inside for launching satellites? Or would that be overkill? I could post a picture of it if you would like. My satellite orbits are about 12k km and kind of offset like the thing you get when you burn normal. What I don't understand, though, is the other specifics such as Inclination 11.8°, longitude of ascending node 205°, and argument of periapsis 120.8°.
  15. Thanks, I completely forgot about crew cabins lol
  16. All of my contracts are either rescue someone from orbit or to launch a satellite in some incredibly specific orbit. The satellite part seems impossible at my current tech level so im left with rescue contracts but im not sure where to even start.
  17. If you EVA it groups all of your staging into one big group. Very annoying when you forget about it and activate all parachutes and decouplers at once.
  18. If you press X or O on an observation site marker on the map the game will run incredibly slow until you cancel the textbox.
  19. Alright, ill have to look into that next time. I think I have figured out my problem but im not too sure. I launched just now and tilted a little further east than usual and when I looked at the map I noticed that the trajectory line was widening by a ton. Im pretty confused as to if this is a good thing or even exactly hoe it happened so some clarification would be useful haha. Thanks for all of your help btw. I would figure that people would get tired of helping new players all the time! (Especially if said player doesn't even know exactly what hes doing and how it works half of the time!)
  20. Im not sure how to post a pic here from my PS4 so ill try describing it instead. My rocket is incredibly simple with 4 FL-T400 fuel tanks. First stage has 3 tanks with a "reliant" engine and the second has 1 tank with a "terrier" engine and a MK1 Command Pod. Has 3 basic fins at the very bottom, a Mk16 patachute, a Communatron 16, and 2 Goo Canisters on the command pod. The first design of the rocket had 3 "hammer" engines on the side but I removed them because I couldn't make my gravity turn soon enough. So does all of that look right? My process is this: As I launch I slightly point east and once im at 10k meters point 45°. Once my apoapsis is at 100k I cut engines until im almost right at it and burn prograde full throttle until my PE is at 100k as well. Last time I went into orbit my AP was about 120k and my PE about 100k.
  21. So I finally got into orbit a few hours ago by watching Scott Manley's tutorial but one weird thing that happened is that I passed my apoapsis but still got into a very stable orbit. (and even re-landed) However now whatever I do I pass the apoapsis and theres nothing at all that I can do about it even though im using the same ship and doing the same maneuvers. Note: I am in career mode and on PS4.
