  1. The title of the journals will be loosely related to one of the articles, in this case it was referring to the polar orbits.
  2. The KGSS Chief Cartographer, togfox, wrote an article on an alternative mapping method. You can find it in Edition 1 of the KGSS Journal which can be downloaded from the thread linked to in my signature. I hope this is helpful .
  3. All the raw map information is provided by the KGSS, so there is no reason why you cannot generate new maps with natural colours of your choosing . There is a link to the societies main thread in my signature. Good luck with the flag planting.
  4. This topic has been moved to Challenges. [iurl]http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=14697.0[/iurl]

  7. This addition to the unity platform is being discussed at the following link: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=14630.0
  8. May I ask what your idea is? If it is compatible with this journals goals, then there is no reason why we cannot grow your idea along side.
  9. Uses a bug with attachments to the wheels, but it creates an interesting plane design effect.
  10. The article has undergone peer review and generated scientific discussion, just like real science. ping111, would you entertain the idea of writing your own polar orbit guide for edition 2 of the journal?
  11. Hopefully we can include these updated and named maps in later editions of the KGSS Journal which is now being produced. http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=14450.0

  13. togfox and Zephram are the ones to praise for their articles, I merely typeset it and spoofed the national geographic front cover ;D
  14. Introducing the first edition of the KGSS Journal, please download and take a read. KGSS Journal Volume I, Edition 1 .pdf Want to contribute? If you'd like to be a part of future editions, please send your proposal to togfox via forum private message. Search tags: Gathering Map Data, Polar Orbits, Mapping Satellite
  15. You mean this one? http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=11388.0, it was also moved to the fan fiction forum. These threads focus on different aspects, one focuses on features and the other on continents. The KGSS encourages all threads which aim to promote geographic and scientific endeavours.
  16. We will run the polls on a per region/feature basis when enough names have been submitted.
  17. The fundamental difference between this project and the RP naming scheme, is that names for major locations are determined by poll, rather than on a first come first serve basis. That said, names originating from the RP board may be submitted, but will most likely undergo the poll process.
  18. Welcome to the forums , I think someone here has made a pretty good star trex style ship, considering it uses mainly stock parts. Happy Engineering!

Squad are currently looking for someone with experience in this area (http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/careers.php), so I assume they are going to overhaul the existing sounds and provide new ones in the future.
  21. [mod]Please could you include the source code for Nost_pluginModule as part of the download, so that it can be peer reviewed for any issues by the community, thanks.[/mod]
  22. Currently we are doing a mixture of placing names on a map: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=11388.msg188134#msg188134 and generating a KSP persistence map with ships named after the places:

  24. Welcome , I have two tips for you: [list type=decimal] [li]Having SAS on when you take off helps keep the plane stable on the runway[/li] [li]Make sure the wheels are perpendicular to the runway; this also helps the plane travel in a straight line.[/li] Happy Engineering.
