  1. My favorite teacher just got one! *score*
  2. If you can swim 2 miles in a flight suit and sneakers, then you\'re certainly getting on the right path..
  3. I know what you mean, and I hate it. When I have a conversation with someone of my parents generation, there is always eye-contact, and each party attempts to engage the other. When I try to have a conversation with somebody from my generation, I\'m lucky if they hear a quarter of what I say. On a really good day, I might also get an unintelligible, mumbled response before they go straight back to their various hand-machines. They even seem offended that I would hope for anything more, as you said above. It pains me to think of what the next generation will end up being like.
  4. Man, how I would love to see the 60\'s... To catch the tail end of Roy Orbison\'s career, witness the heyday of some of the greatest musicians ever to grace this little blue marble with their presence, and be old enough to see and remember the moon landings would be simply amazing. On top of that, people were a great deal less obsessed with \'safety\' than they are today, so I could get my hands on some better, more powerful (and useful) tools. I would most definitely sacrifice growing up with all of today\'s technology to be a part of that era.
  5. Same age as you, Nova, and I agree with all of the above posts. If you could inject yourself into any decade, when would it be?
  6. People have always acted very entitled to things that they feel they own, but they have been quite touchy about showing this in public (for good reasons, mind you). The difference here is, as you said, the Internet. Now, people have an environment to flame about things in that is not quite private, not quite public, and seemingly very anonymous. In Pop-Culture, this is known as the 'Greater Internet ****wad Theory'. Check this out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Online_disinhibition_effect
  7. What if you fall into another planet\'s SOI and it bends your trajectory?
  8. Now that there is a very real possibility that docking won\'t make it in 0.15, are you still planning on waiting to release/work on new stuff for KSP or not?
  9. 3.06 GHz dual core or 800 MHz? choose one. I assume you don\'t have two completely different spec\'d processors in the same machine...
  10. Omnom lander ate the universe... That\'s the weird part about video games. Two seemingly unrelated systems can easily conflict and rip each other\'s throats out. Maybe try building progressively smaller ships, removing one part or fuel tank at a time, and figure out the exact point this starts happening...? It\'ll be more useful to the dev team (and can serve as a clear warning for other massive-ship-builders) if you do so.
  11. My god, I never thought anyone would get around to doing this! I can\'t wait to try, though I probably should.. It\'s rather late...
  12. Why have the connections wobbly? I don\'t see the advantage. I see it in both KSP and Gmod, so there must be something good about it, but to me it\'s just an annoyance.
  13. Any particular reason they\'re so large? Love the parts, though
  14. Kind of a stupid question, but are the locations of the Munoliths hard-coded into the plugin, or do they actually act as a sort of homing-beacon? If not, that\'d actually be a really cool feature for Harv to add into the game. 'What the heck is causing such-and-such planet to emit all of this radiation from that oddly precise location?'
  15. All the authentication system does is check for a text file with your Steam ID in it? I would assume that it wouldn\'t be all to difficult to disable by hand, and on top of that I\'m sure one of the hypothetically-ex-Valve-employees would eventually help out with the project... they seem like that kind of company, ya know?
  16. It\'d probably be a good idea to find out what the least powerful GPU is that can avoid this problem...
  17. Saw it a while ago. More people complaining about not having N-body physics, that is all.
  18. Are you using Mechjeb? I\'ve tried essentially the same configuration, and have found through some experimentation that Mechjeb HATES large ships with thrust-vectoring engines. It can\'t help but overcorrect, even if you\'re just using the Smart A.S.S. for some stabilization. I\'ve yet to find a heavy rocket configuration that won\'t cause Mechjeb to do a backflip... or shake itself apart.
  19. I agree wholeheartedly! But Couldn\'t one (read: the devs) simply turn off physics at ridiculously high warps? There are certainly situations in which an N-body simulation would be beneficial, but I would assume that people warping at ludicrous speed aren\'t really looking for an accurate simulation...
  20. I take it this 'instability' is the Mun affecting the orbit in a realistic manner?
  21. Oddly enough, I\'m running on almost exactly that same rig (\'cept I\'m using an i5-2500k OC\'ed to 4.5ghz). It runs like a dream, and I haven\'t had any issues with any games so far. I suggest you look into OCing your i7, just so you can when you eventually want to. I have to say, though, I am using EVGA\'s Step-Up program to trade my 570 for a 680, not for performance reasons, but because I\'m having a sort of PC-power war with a couple of my friends. EDIT: Aaaand I would like to apologize for being a MAJOR part of the problem... I\'ve got a feeling that it was my comment that really got people off topic (including myself..).
  22. Don\'t feel bad, it really wasn\'t your fault. This is what happens when people converse. They go off topic. Not only that, but that thread should\'ve been locked the MINUTE the target release date was missed. The community already had nearly run out of stuff to talk about in relation to the update, and postponing the update with so little new news didn\'t really help.
