first i built like a huge ssto, my pc couldn't even load it in, then rebuilt by your ideas in small... it still needs flights but what i learnt from that is that bigger is not allways better
-
an ssto that small? hmm that birdie looks noice... also its incredible how it can fly so far away...

Can i use the deltav map to see how much Dv I need by the nuke engines? Also glad we have that deltav tool that shows your total Dv in VAB, I mean, If MaTt LoWnE dId It ThEn EvEn I cOuLd Do It DoN't YoU tHiNk?!

I'm planning building one with mk4 parts to hold 16 kerbals in it, but all I know is you need rapier engines that can get you to LKO, and then just nuclear engines to the rest of your flight... though should i calculate the delta-V with that little community map? or just test if the rapiers work, and then just off we go? I really would like to know if I would need to make any calculations with the nuclear engines...

yes it happens during reentry update: i landed my old shuttle with small wings and it worked. then i built a bigger winged shuttle but it had issues with the launching so i sticked with the small wing design, cuz if you reentry you just have to pre-align your orbit with normal-anti normal, and when you enter then you just have to play with prograde and 40° degree angle

What is total delta-v?
amateur astronaut replied to amateur astronaut's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
hmmm... interesting... can u see somehow how many dV your spacecraft can make? -
In one of Matt Lowne's videos I heard that to go to eloo your rocket need to reach a total delta-v of 4000 m/s. But what this mean? Is this means that that's the max deceleration or acceleration what you'll need to make, or what? He also stated out that his fuel just ran out before reaching that speed. I wanna make some rockets and put some stations on distant planets and an ssto that can send crew on them and back to kerbin, and i was just curious what could this total delta-v mean, and how it could help me make it.

i did a hohmann transfer rendezvous but i have no idea what's next... slow myself down to zero at 15,000 m like the in-game tutorial showed? I hate the KSP tutorial because its just complete BS and it works very differently. in the tutorial, your target speed allways reduces naturally, and the prograde marker alligns up with the target marker... i used to slow down to 5.0 m/s and then speed up to 10.0 m/s back-and-forth-back-and-forth until i managed to get close enough but then both craft started to spin like they wanna orbit each other, and drifting away, and dancing around, and i have no idea what to do cuz im tryin' like for 3 days now and i'm frustrated!!!!!!

How to land a shuttle at KSC?
amateur astronaut replied to amateur astronaut's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
well, first i bend the spacecraft 40 degrees to slow myself down, then when the map show that i'm gonna "fall onto KSC" i set myself a bit to prograde until my navigation to KSC alligns up to prograde on the nawball. You'll start to descend and lose speed rapidly, but you just need to do a preflaring and you're done! -
How to land a shuttle at KSC?
amateur astronaut replied to amateur astronaut's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
hey! I tried something before using the mod: I warped until my spacecraft was 90 degrees ahead of KSC, waited a bit, made a maneuver node a bit behind my craft, (so that it needed to circle around the planet), and the planet, the periapsis, and the spacecraft were alligned perfectly! -
Right now i have a 110 km orbit, but i have 4 main questions: Where to put the maneuver node, where to aim the periapsis, how high the periapsis should be, and how to calculate with all that to the earth's rotation, and the drag what air makes. I made a test flight earlier on with the shuttle, and then i put the node 90 degrees ahead of the KSC and aimed the periapsis 90 degrees beyond the KSC, but i only used my eye, (just like i read somewhere in wiki) and when i reached the maneuver node, the KSC and the periapsis alligned up just to the right direction, but now, i have no idea how to recreate it again.

It is facing where i wanna go, the problem is that when i use pitch, its also bit tilts to the left, and later it's become uncontrollable (I guess because i dont used symmetry tool to take on the vector engines, because if i would, it would not allow me the thrust vectoring) . but when i dont touch anything, it flies nicely until it reaches 800 m/s, (in the 4th picture you can clearly see that the navball shows that its flies straight, but the vectoring makes it go forward you can see on the navball that i tried to tilt it to counteract the forward motion of the vectoring, and how it tilted to left (for no reason!)
-
so i built a NASA style spaceshuttle, and when i dont touch the controls, its flyes pretty well... but when i touch the pitch, its starts to tilt to the left.. and then make barrel rolls uncontrolably. also, when i reach 800 m/s, its tilts backward and starts to descend. I tried to eject down SRBs at 800 m/s but there were plenty of fuel on them.... what a waste...

1. drifting: sometimes i just launch a rocket and when i try to make my orbit by turning into a 40 degree its starts to drift (sometimes i turn it at 7000 m, when i want a lower orbit, when i want to visit a planet i turn it at 14000) 2. spinning around the navbal:l sometimes i use struts, but whenever i try, my rocket becomes instabile, and starts to make a delicate spinning around the nawball. this is very annoying because when i try to modify my orbit, its sometimes modify it vertically too. 3.making orbits: my basic method to do an orbit is to fly up to 14000 m, and then turn it to 40 degree. after that, at 30 000 m i turn my rocket to 90 degree. when my periapsis comes out from kerbin, i travel to the apoapsis to make a burn in prograde, and make my orbit "circular". i think its a very primitive and fuel-wasting method, so somebody pls tell me (or take in a scott manley tutor i dunno) how to do it.

unknown rocket exploding

but i dont can put the screenshot into the description. when i take it into the desc. its allways showt the fully image and no button for continue writing.
