  1. I was able to drag parts and whatnot when mid flight as I wanted my RATO to be used in the upper atmosphere instead of as RATO. I thought 'Hey that would be nice' and guess what, it actually worked. Am I late to the party and this is a feature that I just never noticed or is it new in the latest patch? I wish there was a place for discussion besides GD for this sort of thing but alas there isn\'t. If I am simply late to the party, feel free to lock this thread.
  2. Under the logic that it would fry most computers, why not simply have settings for limitations in the options menu? If you have a rig to handle the madness, it isn\'t an issue to you. (You could use common sense to know how high to go)
  3. Havent the time to try it atm, but any Munoliths on the new moon?
  4. You need to give a bit more information. Post a pic of the craft and say when it starts doing it. Could be a number of player errors.
  5. Is the debris on some reentry course? Yes) Accidental MIRV, innovation whether you like it or not. No) A challenge! Never tell me the odds.
  6. The fact that the random landing happened once makes me wonder how much debris is littered around your world to make that chance a possibility.
  7. Ohh, bingo fuel would be good. Calculate how much deltaV the engines produce along with the current mass of the craft. Then find out how much fuel you need to return to an orbit that will resolve in a landing without skipping out of the atmo. (say 30km.) MechJeb essentially has the equation you need for the deltaV calc, I just don\'t know it. Add in some leniency and you really have a bingo fuel warning system.
  8. I would love to be able to change when the warnings go off. E.G. on the Noyuz you are supposed to fire a trio of retro rockets just before touchdown to slow your landing, an I always do it too soon. It would be great if right at 10m agl a buzzer would go off to alert me.
  9. Best part about this game: Recording friends trying it for the first time and laughing while sitting in the background. Do it to your friends, its great! You just cant be funny with this game if you know what you\'re doing, I turn into a mission control type person as I have it down to a science.
  10. While I think the cosmetic changes look great, I am excited for the realistic masses/values more than the looks themselves. Having the external tank as it is just kills my enjoyment of it... as... well.. all it currently does is keeps the bottom of the shuttle warm until reentry.
  11. Something tells me it isn\'t stock parts... I don\'t think it is a 'problem' as much as overkill... you would never need to get to 2.2km/s at 30km alt... why would you need that much power?
  12. When in doubt, printscreen and paste it into a paint file, then save
  13. Name I after a famous scientific mind like Sagan, Tesla, or even someone like Bill Nye. Name plus a number which represents how many engines the initial stages has.
  14. Yeah it would need a plugin and the duration would be for a second or two, but it would be rather forceful. Just an idea I have no idea on the logistics.
  15. That usually happens when your angle of attack is so high that the air has an easier time coming from behind the aircraft than infront to cause lift. Try being a bit more gradual.
  16. There is a point in rocketry when you have too much... I doubt you need half of that lol.
  17. Put a picture of the craft pre-explosion?
  18. That reminds me so much of an area at Disney I went to as a child. Well done lol. Idea for a 'Booster' Make a slingshot that has two posts on either side of the rocket (if they made a line it would be perpendicular to the vehicle-tower line. At the bottom of the rocket would be a sling, and it would be labeled as a SRB. When you launch it pushes the rocket up with thrust but with no flame effect, to give the illusion it is being slinged upward, and detach once the bottom of the rocket is level with the posts. If you used an auto stage mechanism it would be flawless with the only hard part being the posts and tubing connecting the two. I am not sure how easy it would be but I cant see it being THAT hard.
  19. add a SAS module. Without capsule SAS it will be hard to move. The controls might be wacked due to the orientation of the mech jeb, idk.
  20. You mislabled them. One would think the larger should be more economic as it has less container but more contents. I really wish they would add a system where stacking fuel tanks simply combined them, skipping the lid and base of the ones between. (would be the most economical of all )
  21. If anyone is still interested in this, it is very easy to modify the code to enable gimballing engines. Simply go to the part.cfg files, and replace the bit of 'comments' about gimballing (two lines at the bottom with // infront of them) with the line of code in the spoiler. If I get a bit better with maya, I might try to make a full Apollo mission equipped rocket, with Mech Jeb having the ability to launch 2 spacecraft from one rocket, it might not be hard. Or I could be in over my head, would be my first undertaking of that scale either way. thrustVectoringCapable = True gimbalRange = 1.0
  22. That is a rocket challenge. If you successfully follow it to one of its ends, it unlocks a hidden part set. I wont give it away, but the runway is used for something!
