Okey-dokey. From the HoloYolo thread: Here's my entry and album. It's my general use cargo spaceplane with two disposable landers (lifted separately by the spaceplane, one left in LKO for a bit). ISRU used. The contract was completed, I swapped and carried the same MK1 capsule for each landing. For kicks I did this as a "speed run", just over 9 Kerbal years to complete the mission. This was done with the WIP Raptor engines, but I downrated them 20% from what's in the current RO based on new chamber pressure estimates from SpaceX. Had a lot of fun (no really!) playing with KOS to set up a precision booster landing program. Thanks to CalebJ2 for sample code and for getting Trajectories support added to KOS. First Stage VTVL, Second Stage VTHL, 100 Tonnes to orbit. I have the unedited version if anyone wants it, but it's over an hour due to the long shallow re-entry.

I recently started a game in this environment. It works except for part inventory. Part inventory was removed from the only 1.2.2 builds of KCT and the stable versions of Scrapyard have not been backported to 1.2.2. So it's a bit harder than intended with no part reuse. You can use a pre-release verison of Scrapyard but it caused massive VAB lag and crashes for me.

Spin stabilization is an old school method of keeping a satellite pointed a certain way. They simply spin it. Angular momentum then resists small perturbations. It's not a good idea to do this on solar array sats since it messes up the tracking. These have three axis reaction wheels, which would be considered an upgrade. But I can simply turn off SAS and hit Q to spin stabilize them now: https://youtu.be/12rNZWU7wOU.

Thanks! The nukes are for later: interplanetary transfers, flying on duna, and landing/lifting off low grav moons. Sure, I happen to have a save file right after ejecting the pod. It was unmodified from the download so crossfeed was off. https://imgur.com/sLT7uMv I also had a tiny bit of fuel left in the 2nd stage boosters when I ejected them, I make a habit of losing booster stages before orbit so as to not clutter up LKO :-)

Hi all! Here's my entry into the world of shuttles. She's called Bahamut (as a foil to my SSTO called Tiamat). Using v1.4.1, but no MH parts, some of those parts don't feel very game balanced, especially the Wolfhound. My long term goal is to do the Laythe mission as a single launch, single shuttle, Jool-5 run. But to get started and make sure I'm in the parameters of the challenge, here's STS 1a/b. Launch video: And the rest of the mission in pictures. If anyone is interested in more vid let me know. https://imgur.com/gallery/SzIEO Mods used: Environmental Visual Enhancments Stock Visual Enhancements MechJeb 2 (no autopilot used)

Sounds like you have a new challenge for yourself . I'm sure you could beat it, but I will admit to spending many hours on the transfer window calcs. -

Thanks, I guess I shouldn't have used the little imgur button in the post. Rookie mistake :-) Fixed now. -
The Ultimate Jool 5 Challenge Continued

Here's my entry and album. This was done as a grand tour under the Ultimate Challenge rules using a reasonably sized general purpose cargo spaceplane I designed during my initial career mode playthrough. For the grand tour the plane needed to stage a lander in LKO (flown by itself and shown), but for Jool-5 it could have gone in one launch. I suppose this could be either lvl 2 or 3, or both since 5 Kerbals all landed on all 5 Jool moons together. Mods used: Mechjeb Stock Visual Enhancements Environmental Visual Enhancements ISRU used and all but the Tylo lander were in a reusable spaceplane. FYI, my LT-2 landing tail-strut on my space plane explodes on any contact with solid ground. It does not say over-stressed in the F3 messages, just "LT-2 Landing Strut crashed into terrain". This happens at 0.5 m/s. I've reverted to 1.4.1 and it fixes the issue.
