  1. well, I tried rational resources but it messed with some of the ISRU parts and other stuff from Kerbalism in ways I didn't want it to/didn't make sense so in the end I decided to use RR to take readings of all the planets including OPM cause I am playing with that, and manually rewrote the resource configs for Oxygen, CO2, Nitrogen, Ammonia and Water, I even managed to make biome specific concentrations, basically increased the ground water at the poles of kerbin and duna, I've been really busy with work this past week so only just got back to KSP and finishing it off, seems to be working exactly as I want it to now. if mortimer ever wants to re-include the configs into kerbalism so the resource harvesters work properly, I got it all done for them, or whoever is currently maintaining the mod also I am curious what the compatibility issue with remotetech is, as I kinda want to play with it, and may be willing to dive into some of the code to get it to work, depending on the complexity of the issue
  2. wouldn't it be incredible if there was a collab between Blackrack and cmet to integrate this weather system into the volumetric clouds! I mean it would be quite the undertaking but with such talented modders I'm sure they could make it happen, this is a really incredible project and I wish the best of luck! also, with volumetric clouds, weather, parallax, life support and colonization, planet packs, and everything else the ksp1 modding community has made, it's gonna be very hard for the KSP2 team to top this (whenever they can get their current game playable that is)
  3. KSP 2, 30 man studio of professionals releases barely functional ksp 1 with better graphics after several years meanwhile in KSP 1: 1 person makes Infinite planets!
  4. well, I messed around some more and the issue seems to have fixed itself on making a new save, so I think we're good now, values are much more reasonable
  5. well, I'm already in the rabbit hole of modding, so no reason not to dive deeper lol anyways, I'm trying rational resources now and this seems to fix some of the issue, there is now Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide and Nitrogen, and the filters work! however the values seem a little low only making 41.79% of the atmosphere: (35.25% Nitrogen, 6.07% Oxygen, 0.47% Carbon Dioxide, no ammonia) not sure what makes up the remaining 58.21% but this is definitely a good start, I am also using simple construction so might mess around with ore extraction to see how rational resources affects mining for nitrogen, water and ore for life support and refining into rocket parts thanks for the help! (also just figured out how to insert images)
  6. hello, just noticed something with kerbalism, I'm making a rover to drive across kerbin and using H2 O2 fuel cells to power it, thought I would save some oxygen tanks and instead use the oxygen harvester to extract it right from the atmosphere, but for some reason, on the runway I get 'abundance below threshold' and the harvester won't run, so I did a test with all the different filters, and out of Oxygen, nitrogen, ammonia, and Carbon Dioxide, only the Nitrogen filter runs, displaying a nitrogen abundance of 76.28% while all the other abundance is 'none' is this intentional? I can understand CO2 and ammonia having no abundance on kerbin, but I would assume there should be some oxygen at sea level, maybe enough to make up the remaining 23.72% of the atmosphere, there are no other mods that should change the atmosphere besides Kopernicus, which is a dependency for parallax and OPM, maybe there's a way I can go into the mod files and adjust the values to make sense? https://imgur.com/a/Ypcr8bQ edit: looking into the kerbalism resource configs, I only see files for ammonia, which seems to be specific for laythe, and nitrogen checked the github page and it seems to be consistent there as well, now I will have to do some digging and see if I can find where the other resources went edit edit: did some more experimenting, copy pasted the text from nitrogen config, renamed everything to oxygen, booted up clean install of ksp and now the air filter is detecting oxygen at the same levels as nitrogen and working! I guess I will have to manually figure out and set custom concentrations for CO2 and O2 for all the planets now that I know how to do it... at least nitrogen and ammonia are setup already
  7. guess what? neon cat is in KSP today! I'm playing KSP 1.3.1, I'm not sure which other versions have neon cat Also, I had my first successful mun landing and return in career mode since installing the deadly re-entry mod (last time there was lots of reentry explosions and 2 kerbals were lost) I may have over-killed it on the fuel, but I decided it was better to be safe than sorry, especially since I didn't want to re-enter kerbin's atmosphere too fast and explode again. and here is a successful reentry!
  8. Thanks for the help, I am pretty sure the gear could not handle the landing, since sometimes it was the front landing gear (attached directly to the fuselage) that broke. Often what would happen is the craft would bounce along the ground which probably put more stress on the wheels. I will keep that in mind when I build my next plane Wow! that looks awesome! I can't wait to see it in action! Nice rover, the beginning of that video reminds me of The Martian
  9. ok, thanks! I will check those mods out Also, good job on the landing! as for the plane, I did a few minor changes and it flies pretty good now. I'm still having difficulty with the landings. I have been testing it's landing capabilities on rough terrain and even when I bleed off as much speed as possible before touchdown, it still crashes violently into the ground. I can get it to land properly sometimes, so maybe I just need more practice with landings. When I get this plane to work, I hope to use it in my career mode. Edit: after lots of trial and error and testing, I found the problem. The landing gear could not handle the weight of the plane when landing, so after removing 1/2 the fuel from the tanks, it flies and lands perfectly! I only need 1/2 the fuel anyways.
  10. I got raster prop monitor and vessel viewer. I have to admit, this really improves the IVA experience. literally everything can be controlled from inside the cockpit! And in other news, I made a new plane prototype, this one is called the Osprey X-2 I always have difficulty designing planes capable of landing, or maybe I'm just a bad pilot. If anyone has any tips on landing planes, and making them not spiral out of control at high speeds please let me know. Note: I am playing with Ferram aerospace installed so aerodynamics are a little different than stock KSP.
  11. Today I messed with raster prop monitor and vessel viewer mod. I must say I was quite impressed. This is one of the stock SSTO's and I managed to get it into orbit from IVA, although it wasn't the most efficient orbit since I can't go too fast in the atmosphere when playing with FAR, deadly re-entry and 120% re-entry heating. I wasn't able to make a safe journey back however, even at the shallowest reentry, the cockpit blew up. The engines were facing the wrong way on the viewing screens, but other than that the mod was great! I had the screens set to display orbital information, fuel levels, drag, lift and heating.
  12. If you put enough guns on that thing, you might be able to reach orbit!
  13. well, I just found this thread and it looks pretty interesting. what did I do today? not much actually. I did a little editing on 1 of my KSP videos. Currently I have a modded career mode, the video was of installing a solar array on the Odissey station. I also debated getting Hullcam Vds, Raster prop monitor and domes mods, all of which look really well done. The main mods in my career mode include: Deadly reentry Kerbalism Research Bodies Remotetech extraplanetary launchpads KIS (Kerbal inventory system) FAR Kerbol origins Kerbal planetary base system and EVE I am also playing on 120% reentry heating and 50% funds/science/reputation gains (because I like things a little hardcore) Since I am new here and this is my first post, I don't know how to upload pictures also, nice plane Servo!
