Manufacturing Update

I totally agree with your idea , I even proposed the same idea on this forum , but nobody seemed to like it . -
Mars 2020/Perseverance Landing Challenge
Hdeedose replied to UomoCapra's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Here is my perseverance mission . I did it without any DLC (because I dont have them) . I had to improvise to solve the lack of parts . The launch Duna transfer . Landing A look at the rover -

Is it fine if the rocket doesen't look at all like an Atlas V ? I need a bigger rocket for what I want to do . -
Manufacture parts in space
Hdeedose replied to Hdeedose's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Sooo Breaking Ground main feature basically? I've built mini arm with docking port at the end, so construction arm (as long as it's structurally strong enough) should be possible to make. Yes ... The main goal of the 1.11 update was to permit the kerbals to assemble different parts together in space , without needing to connect them with docking ports , so my idea was to have a robotic arm that can solder parts together , because on high-gravity celestial bodies , kerbals can't move around heavy payloads . It can also permit probes that can build themselves without needing a kerbal engineer . Yes , there are mods thhat add this . But my idea was to propose a way to make it easy , and stock-like . If we can make all types of fuel from one ore , why couln't we also manufacture small parts ? I wouldn't steal much from ksp 2 , because it would allow to build only parts that fits into the containers . And finally , not everyone plays with mods . IFor me , it just feels nice to play with the stock game , without having to update mods (but ths is my personal opinion) . I agree with you on this point , and that's what I was saying . We could only manufacture parts that fits into containers , so no bigger than 1.25m size . -
In the 1.11 update , we can store pieces of all kinds in containers , and we can then use these pieces then to build vessels . So why can't we just manufacture new pieces in space or on celestial body directly from ore ? The only new part to add is a factory part , and if we really dont want to add new parts , we could just directly use the convert-o-trons to do the job . Every new crafted piece would go into a container with still empty space , and it would limit us into only building parts that fits into containers . If all of them are full , we can't build anything more . I also think that adding a robotic arm for building purposes would be very convinient to build on planets with high gravity . It would look like a big robotic arm with a claw , and permits to build big things , whitout even having to go out of the craft . I hope all of this would be added , and I beleive it would give a new big interest to build large surface bases .

1 year after announcement... what are u most excited about

other : I'm most exited for the new way of building colonies -
I'm very sorry but unless I'm significantly mistaken, you didn't carry any Solid Fuel bombs? Here's what I'm gonna do. Since it was clearly a misunderstanding I will count your liquid fuel bombs, but not for full points. Rather, I will count them as if they were Mites with the equivalent total weight. So since a mite has a total weight of 375 kg while your tanks weigh 275, I will be counting your liquid fuel bombs as Mites with 26.67 units of solid fuel each, so that they would weigh 26.67 kg. Therefore your score will be marked as 1453.3, Ok? Ok , no problem . I still beat you , so no problem .

I present to you : The Thing ! I forgot to take a screen of the flight report , so I re-flew this plane just to see how fast I can do It . But it took me so long to finally manage to use the two bombs and to land , that I just dropped the first bomb , and looked at the time . Sorry , it's French , but you can see that I dropped the bomb at 2min46s , and I noticed something . The bombs can't explode when they fall on the hangar roof . So we see that it exploded 8 seconds later , when it bounced off the roof and felled on the floor . Bomb load to island : +100 Left hangar hit : +300 Right hangar hit : +300 <3 minutes : +300 Occupying force : +500 Retro style : +1000 Pyrrhic victory : -1000 1500 pts

Well , yes , but you would have to load the save 4 or 5 . https://www.cjoint.com/c/JFffLCnjmud
