  1. I know neither you nor I will back down on our views, it's pointless to continue this debate. Good day. @OP: Sorry for filling your thread with our arguing.
  2. Saying "no offense" isn't some magic catch all that saves you from any retribution. While what you said was true, nobody else seems to have been bothered by it. There was no need to bring it up and you shouldn't have said anything in the first place. I don't like a whole lot of threads. I don't go and post in every one a list of reasons why I don't like them. Its unnecessary and can only be taken badly, especially in an already emotional situation. You had no right to come in here and go ranting.
  3. Hey, guess what, these forums are optional-participation, you can go on your merry way if you don't like it. I think this was you? Way to go hypocrite. In the meantime, those of us with souls can take some small joy in what this person did. OT: I never thought to use a picture as a flag, that's cool. Touching too.
  4. My first "dock" was before docking ports and nav aids, so I can't be blamed for using mechjeb (not automation, just for rendezvous planning and killing relative velocity). Managed to semi-permanently connect three ships. Now I could do it by hand no problem, though I generally still use mechjeb for rendezvous. PRO TIP: The maneuverability and RCS capability of your ship matters more than anything. If your ship sucks, you aren't docking unless your a wizard, but if your ship is maneuverable and easy to control, its a piece of cake.
  5. I've just had the brilliant realization that the RCS display is a way of the ASAS attracting a mate! "Alright now I'll just hold this steady right here, no prob...WHOA HEY LOOK AT MEEEEEE LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ALL THIS MONOPROPELLANT I HAVE"
  6. I'm trying to set up my own server. I've connected to other servers and it works fine, but I am unable to connect to my own. Is there something I need to do server side to get it work, such as port forwarding? (P.S. I'm on Mac) EDIT: I was able to connect while VPN'd into my server's network by entering the local IP, so I know its a problem with the network/internet rather than the server.
  7. It's actually better to have multiple single person lander cans, or seats.
  8. I'll be doing this tonight. May I suggest you take a second look at some of your scoring? Moho's score in particular seems very low.
  9. I would do the same if it didn't make everything funny colored.
  10. Note that the link goes to the Space Port where theres a pic and a video.
  11. I've been doing a similar line, but I'm only on the third one. I really like these. Do you have data on D/V and TWR? I would like to know what it took to get to Eeloo.
  12. I had 6 nervas on a 200+ ton vehicle...It was going to take awhile to get even past the Mun. New design has a planned 18.
  13. I've been working on a series of interplanetary "yachts" lately. I'm at work so no pictures now. The first one was largely designed with aesthetics in mind (think the Discovery from 2001) and took Jeb to Duna orbit and back (barely). The second one took function over form and turned into a massive monster too long to fit on the screen. Sadly my engine requirements were a bit low so it didn't have the TWR to leave orbit. I'm in the process of a third one now that should actually work.
  14. So...this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interplanetary_Transport_Network Not sure if possible or feasible. A small craft maybe, but anything too large would struggle with the initial burn.
  15. Exactly. If you know you can do the maneuver it shouldn't be a big deal to have it done automatically. I love being able to leave my computer (especially during those long laggy liftoffs that I probably couldn't fly right anyways) and get a snack and come back to find my ship in orbit. I intend to enjoy the game, not fuss over tedious and repetitive actions. Not to mention that my computer is fairly bad so Mechjeb can pilot those laggy ships to orbit, this expanding my ability to play. Your welcome! It's out of context but I found it hilarious. Sometimes people get so serious about this game (like in this topic) and it's good to look at what we are really doing.
  16. NASA plays and uses Mechjeb. I use Mechjeb because I can't deal with a lot of the hassle and precision sometimes. Hyperedit lets your rocket be anything, Mechjeb still needs the rocket.
  17. http://www.penny-arcade.com/report/article/nasas-jet-propulsion-lab-is-obsessed-with-a-certain-game-and-i-bet-you-can-
  18. I'm unsure as to your explanation about your rover, pics would help. A note on the subassembly loader: it requires a free attachment node on the parent part (the command pod) in order to work. If you need parts to be attached between the rocket and rover, attach them from the rocket side and then plop the free rover pod node onto those parts.
  19. You could try replacing the decoupler with two large docking ports. Same tonnage and a bit more strength, you'll have to watch the crossfeed though. Your problem could be too much thrust, whats the TWR as it leaves the pad?
  20. You should be able to click on the hatch to access the controls.
  21. What if the mun arch gate was only activated after finding/activating all the munoliths? Traveling through it would teleport you to a very far away and possibly unreachable (via normal mechanics) solar system filled with lots of incredible stuff, binary stars, black holes, shattered planets, you know, the classic sci-fi stuff. This would make it both endgame enough that it won't be cheaty but also a good easter egg and a way to continue exploration once you have fully explored the original system.
