I tried the gravity assist. It didn't work as well as I hoped. Best I got was an incline change of about 20 degrees. Maybe with several passes or a larger planet I could get there.

Here's my entry the X-2! I overshot the landing by an ocean, but just managed to make it to the next continent. I have got to work on my accuracy.

I have an idea on how to do this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ulysses_%28spacecraft%29. My idea is to take a probe on a 53 day orbit and fly by kerbin after two orbit. I should in theory be able to use a gravity assist to do the plane change. It's getting late now so I'll try it tomorrow.

It will remain on the Mun for as long as my persistence file last.

The new generator module is nice. I applied it to Nova's RTG from the probe pack and it works beautifully. It's really useful for deep space ion driven probes.

I've seen this too, mainly with the ball like pod. I had it on a small satellite and as soon as I detached it from the last large stage it exploded.

It makes sense to have a command station in orbit. For example a crew in orbit could control a rover on the ground.
