So I'm playing 1.12.5.3190 KSP (at least I assume that's the version) w/ 1.12.1 Making History and 1.7.1 Breaking Ground. I have 4 alarms set in the stock Alarm Clock. I want to switch to the vehicle associated with one of these alarms but I don't see any way to do it. Is there? Cycling through the tracking station or orbital view to switch to each of the 4 vehicles is tedious and they are not close enough for the '[]' keys to work Thanks!

I don't see how it can be anything except location or the other factors that I cited. I'm orbiting Kerbin. I've got a geostationary orbit that is good enough that I'm not drifting off target. The Radial in is dead center on the tracking icon. I'm on the correct side of the world. I've managed to do fly bys for other targets (with an exhausting number of tries) that were sub-orbital. This is the first one I tried with a geosynchronous orbit (and I lucked out getting that lined up after only a couple of burns). I'm making slow burns, trying to drift the tracking icon down through the radial in marker to see if there is a spot that triggers a 'near' effect. I was hoping the screenshots would would give a clue to someone to say 'well, you are totally misreading this' or something like that :-)

So, from the sources I could find I understand that I should be able to 'measure temperature in flight above X meters near Y from orbit (above Kerbin in this case) I managed a mostly geosynchronous orbit and when I'm pointing down the tracking icon is smack dab in the middle of the radial in marker. But I never get a message indication I'm in the vicinity. And yes, I'm on the correct side of the planet for the target (so I'm not looking through the planet at the far side). I've slowly adjusted the spacecraft to move the marker about a little bit but no luck I've linked in some screenshots to show what I'm seeing: KSP1 Screenshots (hopefully the link works) So I'd appreciate some insight here. Perhaps there is a maximum height for measuring temperature (contrary to what I could find)? Or the tracking icon 'center' is at the top or the bottom and not towards the center? Or I'm just too far out and the area that corresponds to 'in the vicinity' is lost in the granularity of the interface? (if that even comes close to legitimate terminology :-)) Thanks, Gordon

Hopefully I'm starting off in the right forum I've been going around collecting temperature and pressure (and goo, eva, etc) readings at various locations at the spaceport. Some I seem to be able to get the full amount and some just stay stuck at one value. For example, temperature scan from launchpad shows 2.40 and the bar is full (ie the white bar in R&D in the archives section) But temperature scan from mission control (and runway, SPH) all show 1.68 and the bar is only about 3/4 full. I have repeatedly gone to the various sites with a new mission, recorded data (usually it says 0.7 for temp and 1.1 for pressure), transmit it back or return it via recovery but nothing changes. Should I just assume that is the most I can get at these sites or is there another way to collect the last bit of data that I'm missing? Right now I've got a modified plane that I'm riding around to the various sites. Any suggestions? Not sure about this version info: 1.12.5.3190 Windows player, 1.12.1 Making History, 1.7.1 Breaking Ground --- Well this simply appears to be the diminishing returns discussed in https://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Science#Crew_Report . By sticking 12 temperature sensors on my car plane and going to one of the sites stuck at 1.68 I was able to boost it to 2.4 and the bar is now full. Similar results with using multiple pressure sensors. Previously I had an antenna and was transmitting the tests and then repeating them. Perhaps that still only counts as one test? Anyway, I'd delete the thread but I don't see a way to do that. Perhaps this will enlighten some other newbie :-)
