  1. Is this compatible with Free Iva? if not, does anyone know how to make a patch for it? EDIT, nevermind, it is, should have checked Free IVA's page first
  2. Update. It turns out I had made an error somewhere in entering the launch arguments for CKAN. When I launched the game through Steam using proton, everything looked flawless. Essentially, Volumetric clouds just doesn't work with the native linux version of KSP, you need to run the Windows EXE through proton if you want to use the mod on a linux system. Go to the game properties in steam (right click on the game in your library), select "force use of a specific compatibility tool". I found it works slightly better on the Steam Linux runtime than standard proton 9.0. I'm still going to see if I can get it to launch with proton via CKAN, but at least I have the thing working.
  3. Took another deep plunge into comments and posts on the forum looking for a culprit, saw something that's making me think the issue is running the mods using OpenGl instead of Directx11. I'm going to see if I can make CKAN launch this game via proton (CKAN Wiki for any future readers with similar problems) Edit: This did not work either, and turned the sky black somehow. Anyone have some suggestions?
  4. Hi, New to the forum, but long-time player. Linux KSP on Pop!OS. I decided to try out Blackrack's Volumetric clouds mod, and ran into some issues. Namely, when I load a vessel on Kerbin (haven't checked other planets yet) The clouds are showing up in front of the vessel and any ksc structures. Sometimes they're overlaid over the terrain too, like the foreground and background are mixed up. (I think this is called an issue with z-position?) The clouds LOOK like they're supposed to be far away, but when I move the camera, they show up overtop of the existing vessel and KSC buildings. Theoretically the VAB or a rocket should block out clouds behind it in a shot, not the other way around. This was on a heavily modded install, so I first figured there was some weird conflict causing the bug. I tried downloading a clean-slate copy of the game via steam, decided to install only volumetric clouds & Blackrack's deferred-rendering (and Harmony/Shabby dependencies for Deferred) as mods to make sure there were little to no mod conflicts that could be causing the bug. I downloaded Volumetric Clouds and Deferred directly from Blackrack's patreon/github to make sure I wasn't using someone's fork and to rule out possible issues with CKAN, and the Issue still persisted. I have made sure I was using Blackrack's TUFX config on my main install, didn't help. I have made sure I was properly extracting the folders into Gamedata for both installs, didn't help. I did make sure to fully remove EVE, Scatterer, Planetshine, BoulderCo, etc on my main install before installing Volumetric Clouds. I tried adding Stock and Spectra Eve configs after Installing Volumetrics to see if I just needed an EVE config I was missing, both installs. It didn't help. I haven't seen anyone else with this issue, so I'm frankly at a loss for what caused this and what I can do to fix it. In the meantime, I uninstalled Volumetric Clouds and went back to fresh installs of EVE/Scatterer/Spectra on my main save. If anyone has any suggestions to get Volumetric Clouds rendering properly, I'd love to hear them.
  5. To Clarify, I use KSP Linux x86_x64 on Pop!Os. I initially tried to install Volumetric clouds on an existing modded game, deleted all the EVE, BoulderCo, Scatterer folders, etc, Downloaded the Zip through blackrack's patreon, extracted the contents into gamedata, etc. Game kept Hanging on initial load before I could even get to the main menu. Eventually downloaded a clean slate copy of the game via steam, decided to install volumetric clouds & deferred rendering as the first mods to make sure NOTHING ELSE would conflict. No existing mods, nothing but stock & DLC. Downloaded each directly from Blackrack's patreon/github to make sure I wasn't using someone's fork, and the Game loaded. Hurray! But the clouds were rendering in a way that when I was looking at a KSC building or Vessel, the clouds would render IN FRONT of them and not become blocked by the vessel or building. It drove me completely bonkers, and I could NOT figure out what was causing the clouds to render that way. Ended up removing Volumetric Clouds and the associated files, and installed EVE/Spectra via ckan. I'd still love to use Volumetric Clouds, but I have no idea how to keep the weird 'clouds in front of everything else obscuring your vessel whenever they drift over the ksc' issue from cropping up again.
  6. Hey, Similar-ish issue? Had a tough time getting EVE and Volumetric clouds to play nice. Eventually got it all working. However. When I loaded up the game, the clouds were.. clipping? My vessels & structures. It's like they were at the foreground of the rendered display instead of in the background. I have NO idea what I did wrong or how to fix this
