  1. That blog post also refers to Nova as "Intern Content Designer". This is the first time I think I've seen him mentioned as an intern, I was under the impression he was an employee. Interns are typically low or not paid apprentice type positions for younger folks and are generally temporary.
  2. The docking autopilot seems broken with large ships. Got plenty of RCS thrusters and monopropellent, but it just wiggles and doesn't actually do anything.
  3. Instead of wheels the size of the diameter of the module, imagine several smaller wheels mounted inside of it.
  4. Push!: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pendulum_rocket_fallacy
  5. Go slow. For every action there is an opposite reaction. So instead of just mashing the shift key when you want to go up, give it a tap, drift into place then tap ctrl to stop, etc etc.
  6. In KSP a spinning rocket is less efficient. Design better rockets.
  7. Bought it back when 14.4 was the latest edition, just a week or so before .15.
  8. Another sighting of the Space Slender Man?
  9. As far as I know the only part you can really repair with an EVA'd Kerbal are the rover wheels. You can also repack deployed parachutes, and I guess you can have them unpack stowed solar panels (i.e. you could send a manned rescue mission to a probe that you may have forget to deploy the panels on). I don't believe the panels can be repaired yet unfortunately. As you've already pointed out, the repair still really is only partially implemented, and that's saying it generously. I imagine in the future we will have something like a strut gun that will allow Kerbal to add extra struts to docked spacecraft, or fuel lines. As far as simulated damage, things like air/fuel tank leaks, cabin depressurization, engine wear and damage, heat tile damage etc etc, I think that type of stuff may be quite a ways in the future or in the realm of mods.
  10. Back when .14 came out and was posted on a torrent site. I tried the demo then the torrent then bought the game a week later.
  11. I'm pretty sure something like this is going to be implemented in the next release by C7 with the internal views. But I agree an interactive panel like this would be glorious.
  12. Saw it posted on a torrent website. I played a pirated version for a couple of days until I got the funds to grab the full version.
  13. The one in your link is 0.5.1 of Elderberry Ni V1, this thread is for V2, so .2.1 is in fact the latest version.
  14. There is only one downloadable version on the original post of this thread, and its for 0.2.1. I have no idea where you got 0.5.1 from. Don\'t know about the java error, I\'m running 64-bit Java 7 and haven\'t ran into any issues.
  15. What, I don\'t even. ô¿ô
  16. I don\'t know if a post like this has been made before, probably has but I thought I would start my own. I\'d love to see some excellent recommendations for any space or space flight related movies, documentaries, or whatever. To get the ball rolling first of all, as far as documentaries go I highly recommend the When We Left Earth series, I know its on Netflix streaming but I am sure you can probably find it otherwise. While not really a documentary, as it\'s all based on fact is Apollo 13, if you haven\'t seen it in awhile it is definitely worth watching again. I also enjoy campy and sci-fi stuff, I am sure it\'s the type of movies Jeb likes too. One awesome movie I just discovered and watched via youtube is Destination Moon. It is notable for being one of the first 'realistic' science fiction depictions of a manned moonshot. And while it is super campy it is really cool for being from 1950, the scenes where the guy drifts away during the repair and the epic makeshift rescue using the oxygen tank is total Kerbal. And the Woody the Wood Pecker clip in the beginning does a great job of describing how the mission will work. Might not be everyone\'s cup of tea but I found it pretty fun to watch: Destination Moon
  17. One interesting thing about that super long space plane (AKA The Space Train) photo I showed in my previous post, it was all stock and I actually got it to orbit albeit in a very unconventional way. The flight for the begging is pretty hairy, but flys like how you would expect it to for the most part (straight like an arrow very unstably) but after reaching high altitude it began to tumble end over end uncontrollably, so I had to throttle up and down as it rotated, slowly gaining altitude in bursts. This also gave the orbit a slight inclination. It was a rather harrowing flight, and felt like a major achievement so I left it to continue orbiting. After several days I decided to load it up from the tracking station just to see how everyone was doing, and on load I experienced an extreme amount of lag as well as a repeating explosion sound. The ship had exploded on load: http://i.imgur.com/kxdOR.png And after several in game days, the orbits of each debris have separated enough to make a debris ring around Kerbin http://i.imgur.com/htOz3.png It\'s been there for awhile now, and I plan to eventually destroy them with a killsat. But I think it\'s a pretty cool addition to my little kerbal universe.
  18. Even as a paying customer I still wouldn\'t mind seeing them update the demo version with the current build of the game, or maybe keeping it staggered one update behind the pay-for version. If it gets more people interested the better. But I am sure Squad has put a lot of thought into their release plan and obviously the economics is working out for them. Is there an official number of how much money they have earned or how many copies they have sold, I know Minecraft had a webpage with a tally of paid for accounts.
  19. I honestly don\'t know, it was really strange that the ship remained balanced with the rear wheels off. I think the wings were still providing lift, and the act of me moving the ship and flapping the wings was enough lift to keep the momentum going.
  20. Yep, it\'s not the most stable but it\'s actually quite flyable. I made a gallery for it for the weekly challenge on the Kerbal reddit: http://imgur.com/a/h6hzC#0 The landing in that series was fubar\'d but I wasn\'t really playing seriously and was just an orbital test flight that worked. I have landed safely on the runaway several times with it in flights afterward.
  21. Even if for whatever reason Squad does stop working on the project, I am sure KSP will still be pushed forward by the mod makers and community. The game is definitely worth every penny as far as I\'m concerned. I haven\'t clocked how much I\'ve played it over the past few months, but its easily over 15 hours, so 1 dollar for 1 hour of awesome entertainment is a good value to me. But not only that, I feel like I\'ve now invested in the game and really get excited about all the updates. Seeing how open and friendly the developers are to the community, I am really satisfied with supporting them, and am eager to see them get more cash so they can devote more time to developing it. Games like this don\'t really have huge market appeal, but I still try to get the word out about this game as much as I can. If you\'ve really enjoyed the demo as much as you said you have, THEN BUY THE DAMN GAME! 8)
  22. Just some basic filter effects applied with a photo editor. Anyways heres some screenshots I\'ve made over the past few weeks: http://imgur.com/a/3z9iS
  23. There should be a slider to control how many debris exist in the game. Simply slide it all the way down to zero to disable debris.
