  1. @Athlonic : Thanks for the reply! No rush. I understand that you have other things you have to do.
  2. I don't know if this information is helpful at all but I just thought I should share it. I re-installed Chatterer and it seemed to work fine for a bit, but after a while, the chatter simply stopped. Seems a bit nonsensical.
  3. I've crashed into almost every body in the starsystem. I've landed on a few as well! I actually even had a space station orbiting Duna. It was build in orbit of Kerbin and then I flew it to Duna. I really don't recommend trying this as the thing wobbled the ENTIRE way there.
  4. Thanks for the quick reply! Contrary to what my signature says, I apparently *did* just fall off the turnip wagon...
  5. I just downloaded this from Curse. I'm only seeing the Legacy parts. What am I doing wrong?
  6. Heya. This is maybe my 16th post in the past 4 years so you could put me way at the bottom, just barely to the right of the center line. Edit: Duh. It says 59 posts right under name, join date, location etc. Also, Guess I've only actually been here 3 years.
  7. One weird way to remedy that is to edit the config file for the heat shields. Just make them heavier and it'll help keep the bottom of the capsule facing down.
  8. I'd just like to point out that this game has been in a constant state of change during its entire development. I first started playing at 0.13.2 and since then, there have been many new challenges that arise due to the increasing complexity of the game. I felt some distress when they added a moon that wasn't *gasp!* in an equatorial orbit around Kerbin (Minmus.) I worried when they added the need for oxidizer, or electricity... etc. After playing 1.0 for a few hours, I've realized I just need to re-think a lot of my old tried-and-true methods for building a spacecraft. I honestly think this is a great update.
  9. Thanks for the tip. I had a capsule with an equipment bay and a mat lab on the *bottom* of it come back from a Munar flyby. Took several tries before I realized the only way it would survive re-entry would be to aero-brake using several orbits. I'm also thinking of copying the heat shield part and just increasing it's weight to act as ballast. For now, though, maybe I'll just try putting the light stuff on top.
  10. What he said.^ If you're using Blender and you're in the UV editor there's a UV menu. Make sure all vertices of your model are selected then click on the UV menu. There you will see the option "Export UV layout." Click that and it'll allow you to save that as an image file. If you're not using Blender, I don't know. Let me know if this is the least bit helpful. EDIT: Oh yeah. Seek out tutorials. There are a hell of a lot of them and honestly, most are pretty good.
  11. I was thinking this would be a Christmas release. But... it's here!
  12. Banned for using "Douglas" in a sentence... oops...
  13. This is a fantastic idea. I kinda wondered if there would be other options for making money in the game later on but this mod fills that perfectly. Nicely done!
  14. I second this idea. It'd be nice to know that your button press registered and the thing you're trying to do is getting done. It also would be nice to have some sort of something to remind you what you bound to the keys. I sometimes forget what action group did what if I leave a spacecraft alone for too long.
  15. I like the sound of this kind of implementation of biomes. I like the biomes in that you can take different soil sample from different locations and such to help you develop the technology to send missions further afield. But as Peter1981 and I believe Geb mentioned, it should be places that we can see as being distinctly different from some other place we've been.
  16. I had an idea similar to this but for an inflatable aerobraking shield. Unfortunately, I can't animate to save my life. Can you recommend a good tutorial on how to animate an inflatable thing? ...Or you can take the idea and run with it. That'd be fine too. Also, downloading this as I find landing on Duna can be... painful.
  17. I was just wondering if the M 27 Overview command pod was still available. I can't seem to find the thing on Spaceport and I'd really like to download it again. Is it out of date now?
  18. This thing is nuts. I just took a trip to Jool by selecting Jool on the map, then steering the ship toward it and accelerating. The trip took about a day. Then I went to Eeloo and back to Kerbin. Total time for the trip was about 78 days but most of that was in a really eccentric orbit around Eeloo. Cool mod!
  19. This is a nifty and elegant way to get something in to space. This actually goes along with an idea I had involving lighter than air craft and rockets. Thanks for creating this.
  20. Well, you stole my idea for a set of smaller tanks and engines. I can't say I'm really upset though. I really need something like this so I think I'll try 'em out.
  21. Absolutely fascinating! Thanks for posting this. I never thought I'd look at pictures of molecular bonds.
  22. Welcome! I just wanted to tell you that many of us don't use any calculations at all, and have flown our way to the Mun, Jool, Eve and so forth. It just takes practice. Also, don't feel bad if you accidentally fly a rocket apart. I've been playing since version .14 and I still sometimes over-cook the throttle, tearing boosters off of radial decouplers and things of that nature. At any rate, Welcome aboard!
  23. You could add my two parts, but frankly the a.s.a.s. module is obsolete as Squads new, larger a.s.a.s. module does the same thing and looks MUCH better. The MAIN reason I'm posting is that I'd like to second the notion that this should be made a sticky. It'd prevent the necro-posting of stuff that was made a year and a half ago and it'd just be nice to know where everything is. -Menecroth
