  1. Here's my entry to the challenge. Hope folks to mind my yakking the whole time! Tried to really talk through the process of the mission. Thanks again to the KSP and IM folks for hosting and offering the prize! Now, off to go see some of the other entries. I suspect there's some cool ones out there!
  2. So, how is the "up to 40 Points" scored? My gut reaction was the closer to the target coordinates the better, but that's not really realistic to the IM-1 Mission. The real mission is more about finding a safe landing space within the 1 degree range. So I started to think it would be more accurate to find a level spot free of boulders while on the fly within the 1 degree range and put the lander down there. Any official guidance? Thanks!
  3. So, here's an entry. I call her the Queen Bee. Mainly because it has this "head and thorax" area and the bulbous "abdomen" where the rover goes. She was designed to fly to Minmus, but I think with a couple modifications, I could get her to another planet (will be trying that next). Powered by 12 atmospheric engines, 2 atomic rocket motors, and 8 radial VTOL motors. Mods Used: B9 NovaPunch (VTOL engines) MechJeb Kethane (the rover is capable of locating, drilling, and converting kethane) RemoteTech As for points: 2. Kerbin orbit: check 3. Minmus orbit: check 5. Minmus landing and offload: check 6. Return to Kerbin: check Multipliers: I brought 3 Kerbals, but left one w/ the rover (but I think that is still 3x1.5) Unloaded 1 manned rover on Minmus Landed on the KSC runway I'll let you do the maths as well, but I think that totals to 1237.5. Screenshots: Loading the rover Ascent Pushing to orbit Minmus burn I don't have any pics from the Minmus approach. I was too busy trying to not crash. Unloading the rover Minmus Ascent Kerbin Reentry Final Approach Landed and ready for fuel and another rover
  4. ok, I'll bite... here's one I threw together in about 30 minutes. 22.57t for mass. It's not gonna get to space, but it flies well enough. It can do about 200 m/s near the ground.
  5. So, I'm having the issue of KAC is causing the game to freeze up when starting a flight. I've seen that this has been an issue in older versions, but nobody is apparently having this problem at the moment except me. I've removed all of my mods so I'm left with just the basic KSP 20.2 (which I fresh downloaded and installed to make sure) and KAC. I've tried every version of KAC from 1.4.1.0 to 2.1.2.0 with identical results. I start up the game, create a ship that is just the command pod in the VAB and try to start the flight. I let the game sit for ~10 minutes using 2.1.2.0 and still got no results. I do get the following in the output_log file regarding the incident: 6/13/2013 10:09:37 AM,KerbalAlarmClock,Active Vessel unreadable - resetting inqueue flag (Filename: C:/BuildAgent/work/7535de4ca26c26ac/Runtime/ExportGenerated/StandalonePlayer/UnityEngineDebug.cpp Line: 54) 6/13/2013 10:09:37 AM,KerbalAlarmClock,Adding DrawGUI to PostRender Queue (Filename: C:/BuildAgent/work/7535de4ca26c26ac/Runtime/ExportGenerated/StandalonePlayer/UnityEngineDebug.cpp Line: 54) 6/13/2013 10:09:37 AM,KerbalAlarmClock,Starting Version Check-No current web version stored (Filename: C:/BuildAgent/work/7535de4ca26c26ac/Runtime/ExportGenerated/StandalonePlayer/UnityEngineDebug.cpp Line: 54) 6/13/2013 10:09:37 AM,KerbalAlarmClock,Reading version from Web (Filename: C:/BuildAgent/work/7535de4ca26c26ac/Runtime/ExportGenerated/StandalonePlayer/UnityEngineDebug.cpp Line: 54) I'm pretty much out of ideas when it comes to what is setting me apart from others, so any ideas would be appreciated. I have no problems running any other mods from a pretty long list of ones I use on a regular basis. But as some people have already commented: This mod is really invaluable when it comes to running several concurrent flights. If you need more info, just let me know and I'll do what I can. Thanks in advance.
