  1. I usually think up of my own campaign missions. In example, In 0.16 I went chronologically >> ~3x Mun exploration landers >> Kerbin-orbiting Space station >> ~2x Mun exploration Landers >> Minmus-landed Research station >> Minmus-landed Rover support for Research station >> Kerbin-orbiting Space station 2 (D.O.O., with docking (legs)!), that rendezvous'ed with the old one >> Big ass Mun-landed Research station >> 0.17 release In 0.17, Since I started with a fresh persistence, >> Kerbin-orbiting Space station 2 (D.O.O., yes, the same one) >> Mun-landed Research station 2 >> Duna-landed 1-man lander. • I usually come up with a relatively realistic objective that fits my space program, and then design or re-design craft for that mission. • I also like to roleplay a bit, so I usually put a sattelite dish or a simple antenna using the yellow ladders. • I rarely use mods, but I do use a few: Crewtank from DamnedAerospace and MechJeb. • I almost never use MJ auto-pilot, but after ~20 tries of not getting an SOI with Duna, I gave up and used MJ to get a transfer orbit. Looking forward to doing it again, but not cheating this time. • I have tried the Sattelite relay network mod in 0.16, though I didn't use it a lot, and my kerbals rarely survived the Zoxygene mod. • I enjoy having a break in the Spaceplane Hangar, but I try not to get carried away, since IMO KSP main goal is rockets. I am, though, looking forward to landing one in a planet with atmosphere (I have seen someone go to Duna) • Learned to rendezvous from my second try, never missed an opportunity to do one since then (i.e. waving off to the Space station in LKO while en-route to the Mun) Oh and I suck at landing without SAS, so I force myself to build a bit bigger landers.
  2. Well i have debris on a less-than-70km-periapsis orbit too, I hope I get a chance to see something like that soon, nice Thanks. Also, why do you only post in Times New Roman?
  3. Why don't you try connecting the outer two tanks to the center tank (which is then connected to the "wing" as it is now), instead of connecting both the outer tanks AND the inner to the "wing"? The fuel flow should be the same, but it should fix the problem Also, nice creativity
  4. Thanks, now all I need to figure out is why it doesn't show on my map..
  5. Nope. Also, how can it look like something if you didn't even see it? The only actually visible thing is my cockpit with a parachute I want to make sure it's not an easter egg, it doesn't matter if i post my persistence, since i'll know if it's my debris (thats not showing on the map) either way. It's too far to show a name label, what you see is already with mouse rollover.
  6. While it seems reasonable, I cant but wonder why is my KSC riddled with debris on the map then? Will do this, thanks
  7. Everything on max. Oh but I don't have such precision for landing in earth's atmosphere. At least not with my current craft, and I don't really want to build an SSTO craft yet.
  8. I have stumbled upon an unidentified object showing on my landed pod's visor, it is 35.9km eastwards from 0° 8' 23" N 3° 25' 22" W. I tried reaching it with a heavy duty spaceplane, but ran out of fuel halfway. Not wanting to sit in front of the game doing minor flight maneuvers for over half an hour, I turn to you, fellow forum members! I know some of you can easily land a rocket there with mechjeb, or some other clever way of reaching it, so I ask for confirmation on visual of this object, so my heart can rest (without worrying that my game is broken) And no, I don't have any debris there. Thanks!
  9. Seamless stability while docking light rockets: Also, I have incorporated a ladder-only crew transfer, based on someone's idea on the forum: (works good only from rocket to D.O.O., though) Also, Solo image added to the first post.
  10. It's actually my first docking (aside from a test variant configured exactly as the D.O.O), I just happened to get the exact amount of grasp on my first try The way I view it, it's just a bit closer to the vessel (at the building phase) than the configuration in which the legs' "feet" are exactly parallel to the vessel (as if a straight upwards leg would be 0 degrees, and shift + wasd would change the orientation by 5 degrees (example), then the legs are positioned at 5 degrees (or -5, depends on how you look) Thanks!
  11. While I don't know for certain, this looks similar: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/showthread.php/18851-Almaz-TKS-Hybrid-Space-Station
  12. According to this, they aren't planning on implementing it yet in 0.17: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/showthread.php/15757-KSP-0-17-Update I expected that when i was building, but i was surprised it didn't happen. It probably depends on how tight you set the legs to clamp, how often you stabilize both vessels (my stations tend to start spinning while not being controlled, since sas doesn't stay on), and if you warp (I didn't)
  13. I have just docked my docking station ISS D.O.O. upon the 'old' ISS: Stock parts, except additional 'crewpod' from Damned Aerospace. Edit: The first rendezvous of this station is here! http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=16964.0 The ISS D.O.O. (pronounced "two", stands for Docking Optimized Orbiter) consists of 67 parts, has 1200 liters of liquid fuel in the orbiting stage, seven (!) RCS fuel tanks, weights 43.19 metric tons, is capable of housing 18 crew members, includes two communication antennas, one regular radio antenna, one satellite dish shaped for video and data transfers, and a dedicated docking port with holding gear, thus not needing to put the gear on docking vessels. Everything is stock, except the Crew Tank from Damned Aerospace. The old ISS is scheduled for deorbiting, two of the three present crew members were transferred for duty on the ISS D.O.O.
  14. You can see more of the Minmus Research Center here, since it was my base of operations for a challenge: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=17085 Edit: Updated ver. of Mun RC: I didn\'t want to add a decoupler below the command pod, I went the Jeb way for landing on Kerbin: The chute on the command pod just rips it off the main body. 8) I have finally landed the Mun Research Center! 91.6 litres of fuel left. Capable of housing 13 kerbals (an imporvement over my Minmus Research Center)
  15. I asked to put me off the list - I'm not flying this time
  16. Uh, please put me off the list, I'm a bit busy, and I am still not used to these new forums..
  17. So yeah, basically what I said. In layman\'s terms: you have to be on a landing course yourself before decoupling the object.
  18. Yeah, I have read both editions, though I meant less of a particular challenge, and more of a todo-list of ones.
  19. There\'s some info about maps and geography here: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=11388.0 http://www.majhost.com/gallery/borna123456/GTPlanet/0vxgre.png
  20. How about a small section in your magazine for a to-do/bucketlist-type of thingy for user-suggested things to do when you\'re bored or when you think you\'ve accomplished everything? Something like: [li]Exit the atmosphere[/li] [li]Achieve a stable orbit[/li] [li]Orbit the Mun[/li] [li]Land on the Mun[/li] [li]Land on Minmus[/li] [li]Do the Grand Tour[/li] [li]Orbital Rendezvous[/li] [li]Visit Kerbol (crash)[/li] [li]Mun Rescue[/li] etc.
  21. Too mystic. Though still nice. 8/10. Also, why do you post multiple times? Waiting for the 10/10 rate?
  22. You should probaly post pictures to get some interest.
  23. You\'d probably have to do a retroburn to decrease your horizontal velocity enough to lower your periapsis into the surface before decoupling, and then to save the actual ship you\'d need to do a proburn to put you back into orbit again. The way I would do it - align your trajectory during TMI for a crash course, so that it will require the least amount of delta-v to get back to a safe orbit. The object would probably be destroyed by the impact, though.
