  1. Awesome! I\'ll try these challenges soon, since I already have a Minmus Research Center landed there Though I will have to bring some more kerbals, since I don\'t want to kill my best scientists..
  2. That is exactly what i\'m trying to do now, but I still have problems with getting a vertical liftoff design working: (I want it to be similar to the real NASA shuttle, but the fuel weights too much) Note that this is one of the test flights, it may not be my best attempt
  3. Take a look at this: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=16839.0 Is this what you\'re talking about? Though it\'s more of a surface base thing rather than the orbiting one you have in mind. I don\'t really get what you mean, can you explain? Edit: If you mean the command pod\'s gyroscope-SAS-thingy, then yeah, i didn\'t use that without the rcs blocks I\'m quite astonished i achieved that too - i took an empty plane fuselage, turned on four-way symmetry, and just clicked the sh*t out of that passenger crewtank
  4. Yes, I have noticed that too, i just didn\'t know about the jumping. Also, if you hold shift and press space without holding any of the WASD keys, you will jump backwards!
  5. Three scientist kerbals looking back home from minmus.. Are you looking for the crewtank from Damned Aerospace? http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=10138.0 (first post, in the end)
  6. Yeah, just a misunderstanding, no hard feelings Also, thanks everyone for the comments!
  7. I didn\'t intend to boast or anything.. It was meant as *my* first rendezvous. And the show-off stuff was just the writing style, sorry if I seemed a little.. narcissistic (is that the word?). Apologies, I just though this might\'ve been a fun way to post...
  8. Well, i didn\'t intend to make it a space base, more of single pit-stop or mid-destination for flights. If we could get an agreement that nobody will clog up the station, I think there wouldn\'t be any problems. Eh-? Also, I don\'t think there\'s much to manage - just label all orbiting vessels 'orbiting', and it\'s done. I never understood why public saves must have mass-landed bases anyway. Maybe someone just wants to put up an orbiter around minmus?
  9. I think it\'s 'somewhere in between' - on some other thread someone posted about getting the new big parachute inside an asas module stacked on top of the command module, so I guess a few of the new parts still contain a bug where you can place them without stacking, and somehow not clip with other parts being placend on the stack. Seems like a pretty good niche for exploits. EDIT: It wasn\'t inside an asas module, it was inside a stack decoupler (which in turn had an asas on top) EDIT 2: Or maybe it\'s just a bug with both of the decouplers?
  10. Uh... I would like to change my destination from the Mun to...... well, Kerbin Orbit. I would like to get something like this bad boy up in the sky: (I would just replace the additional crewpod with a fuel tank to keep it stock) Stock parts, except additional 'crewpod' from Damned Aerospace. Edit: The first rendezvous of this station is here! http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=16964.0
  11. I think my ISS rendezvous qualifies, but I already posted it here: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=16964.0 Single image to get the idea:
  12. I have never thought i\'d manage to pull this off.. All my earlier orbital rendezvous had failed.. I present you... (My) The First-Ever Interkerbinal Space Station Rendezvous! Original ISS post: Stock parts, except additional 'crewpod' from Damned Aerospace. Having put up a space station in orbit and never having pulled a meet-up of vessels in orbit, i thought the new EVA stuff would be perfect for my first successfull rendezvous! The full huge gallery can be seen here: http://imgur.com/a/Pi5O3 But the key moments are selected here: First logged photo of the approach Getting closer than 150m (where the label stops showing) Decelerating The captain of the ISS, Ronler Kerman, EVA\'s first for the famous handshake of the two captains The M-1C captains, Macfry Kerman\'s turn Moments after the handshake The famous meeting of the so-called 'Four HorseKerbs of the Apocalypse' Macfry boarding the ISS (addon: crewpod, http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=10138.0) The four Kerbonauts having a ball (Macfry in the upper left corner of the screen) Final bye-bye\'s Semi-powered landing Macfry gazing at the sky where the ISS should be Criticism, suggestions and applause are all welcome!
  13. My new 'Interkerbinal Space Station', orbiting at ~85km above Kerbin: Stock parts, except additional 'crewpod' from Damned Aerospace. Edit: The first rendezvous of this station is here! http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=16964.0
  14. Previous pilot of the Minmus Lander M2-4 checking in for a flight to the Mun, I havent gotten my head pretty good around these new fat rockets, so I figure I\'ll just get to the Mun this time.. On a side note, may I name the Mun base 'Buran' station? After the russian space shuttle: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buran_(spacecraft) Edit: Basically you take the previous\' pilot\'s posted persistent.sfs file, do your flight, and upload it for the next pilot. When it\'s your turn, of course.
  15. Jealous of what? 9 kerbals on the Mun? If you think so, take a look at my earlier post: Though i don\'t know where one of them has dissapeared, I don\'t recall losing one..
  16. Well for starters, i must say it: That rocket is a BEAST. Having an i5 2500k and a 6950, i thought i might get something out of this. I was wrong. On my usual settings, a 1080p res, 8x AA and everything else on or on highest settings, i wasn\'t able to get anything more than you. The launch was successfull, though I didn\'t want to sit through the 1fps waiting for orbiting, so I decided I\'d try on lower settings. Note: before ending the flight, i noticed that the rocket steers to the side almost horizontally, and I didn\'t have any problems of disintegrating as you. I lowered the res to 720p, and turned off all anti-aliasing. No luck. I didn\'t even get a mere 1 frame boost, though fps measuring was only done by fraps, which is not known for complete accuracy. On the lowest settings possible, 800x600, lowest terrain, no terrain scatters, no vsync, etc., I was able to get 10~15fps for a moment at the launch pad, but after moving the camera, the fps dropped to 1fps again. After launch, which i hoped would provide an fps boost once the camera was panned up from the planet, i was dissapointed. And thus I have to admit, I failed.. Good luck for anyone on this beastly challenge, over & out. Few images: (note the meter refusing to show the last three or four digits)
  17. My first fat rocket did, in fact, went to the mun without any tests, but it was bad on fuel, and crash-landed. The 3 original kerbals were still alive, as seen in the photo below. Note the other part of the lander in the background. The second mission was with the classic slim rockets, with my old trusted design, so I landed perfectly, and with enough fuel to go home. I then decided I want to successfully land a fat rocket, so after enough tests, I landed one, though with only a few liters of fuel left, so stranded again. I have yet to successfully land a tri-kelbal lander and go back home | | --------- EDIT: My newest lander *may* be able to get back. I\'m too afraid to try:
  18. Mission M2-4 is a success, Minmus Lander M2-4 successfully landed at Eceron Station, despite having a leak to blame for losing one tank of RCS fuel.. Full photo of the Eceron Station: Minmus Lander M2-4 on the far right. While being higher than the other similar landers in the station, it did bring an additional ASAS module, feel free to use it as spare parts for any fixing of your craft\'s damage. Notes: I took the liberty of re-braking sal_vager\'s Ice Dancer, since it was moving toward\'s Tim_Barret\'s X10 again. Also, I contracted the landing gear on the X10, since it was moving towards the Ice Dancer too (The X10 can stand perfectly with them contracted, don\'t worry Tim). I also got the Pizza Delivery 1 standing again, since it was lying on the ground when I found it: I hope nobody is angry with me tinkering with their craft, sincere apologies if you are.
  19. uhhh.. mission control, this is captain stogas of the minmus orbiter m2-4, requesting permission to abort mission, i repeat, abort mission, one of our pilots have been temporarily relocated, expect us back soon, over..
  20. Nice selection! So I understand you have used NovaPunch almost since the day you began playing KSP?
  21. Looks simply amazing! I wanted to do a base thing for quite a while, but apart landing a few vessels in one place and somehow managing to get huge garages into space, I would have never thought of making a small habitable building. Thanks for the idea!
