  1. *by "pro", I mean someone who has already launched a spaceplane into orbit and landed them safely back to kerbin. emphasis on "landed" since almost all of the spaceplanes I've launched in orbit entered a "death stall" at around 12km-20km altitude upon returning to kerbin without any reason at all. Tried other wing configurations, to no avail (delta, typical). Followed the CoG, and CoL guides. Still none. I've seen people do it successfully in any wing configuration and of any size (compact to fortress style) and I'm like sitting here "HOW"? So here's the question(s). -Do all spaceplanes launched into orbit around kerbin enter a death stall upon re-entering? -If not, how can I prevent it from happening? reference video:
  2. Ah yes, exams Got two quizzes and a practical exam tomorrow, yet I'm here in forums. Nvm, just taking a break, back to the grind! *poof*
  3. Wow, you're making SSTOs like as if they're just that simple. Totally a pro player (according to my old definition of course) Awesome stuff!
  4. Take your time! Feel free to post drafts if there's any. Won't be around for a week tho
  5. Grabbed straight from its part.cfg file: // --- liquid engine parameters --- maxThrust = 22000 minThrust = 0 heatProduction = 5000 fuelConsumption = 700
  6. Yup! Something big-belled that can attach to 3m parts. Worth giving it a try
  7. That was just an anticipation, but hey - it does (and can possibly) happen! Good thing no bad stuff so far. Nevertheless thanks for the feedback guys! Appreciated it modifications on the way.
  8. My parking orbit is between 70-80km, for refuel crafts, crew launch vehicles, and interplanetary ship (parked at 200km orbit) or space station (300km orbit) pieces. Large area to move around means easier intercept windows
  9. Munshot Thread: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/109039-MUNSHOT-0-25-Return-To-The-Mun "XxX_420JEBEDIAHROCKETMLGFAZEOPTICSLAYER420_XxX BLAZINGREPORTING FOR DUTY
  10. Alrighty then. Changing my request to something similar to it.
  11. Granted. Now everyone is highfive-ing themselves, including you and me. I wish for a jar of dank matter.
  12. Nope, can't find the original post of it here either. And it's already gone on the interbwebz Also, the concept of original license on mods didn't existed back then (couple of years ago...)
  13. I AM NOW OFFICIALLY A PRO KERBAL SPACE PROGRAM PLAYER!* *according to my (VERY OLD AND OUTDATED) definition of one "The KSP gods have heard their pleas... then they maketh the R.A.P.I.E.R..." So I suddenly thought of tinkering around and making my own stock SSTO Spaceplane (instead of studying for craptons of quizzes in the following days). Few prototypes, launches, stuck-in-orbits, sub-orbitals, and explosions later, I finally made one that finally works. Behold, SSTO #240158623 (Codename: Glenoid) Screenies captured during its first satellite delivery flight. Heavily inspired by the Skylon spaceplane. With FOUR R.A.P.I.E.R engines, it managed to punch through and insert itself in orbit with spare fuel left for deorbiting and landing back to kerbin. And it handles like a dream too! inb4 elitistspeople coming in and criticizing my use of R.A.P.I.E.R engines, then asserting their superiority by telling that they've made one with the old LFE-Airbreathing engine combination. [✓] Can take off? [✓] Can transition? [✓] Can insert to orbit? [✓] Can deorbit? [✓] Can land? [✓] Without explosions? [✓] Can handle like a dream? [✓] Can maneuver in space? And there it goes! Here's the video during its first mission: Landing video coming up!
  14. Title says it all! For reasons. Too bad the original maker of that mod isn't around here anymore. Or is he/she? I have the original files intact if you can't find it anymore in the interwebz... Oh and btw if it's already here way before I've posted this just tell me And in case you haven't heard about/saw it yet... here it is: EDIT: If BFE-5000 can't be resurrected, I therefore request a brand new engine similar to it. Thanks!
  15. Ilyushin IL-62 Lockheed L-1011 Predator Drone I also had an MD-11, Boeing 747-400, Airbus A340, and C-5 Galaxy, but I lost all the screenies already (all done around 2-4 years ago)
