  1. uuuuummmm being a bit nitpicky here Sumghai, but ogive fairings normally come to a point Ignore the better worse thing that is for non-supersonic drag... Granted you cant come to an infinite point so some are capped, but the nose radius should be AS SMALL AS POSSIBLE PS really for a bullet, but what is a rocket other than a propelled bullet?
  2. Hey Rickorite, would it be possible fot you to move all your parts into your own tab in the VAB/SPH? Much like IR and RealChute do. It would help a TON in finding other parts and keeping all of your parts organized.
  3. budgie then you have more than I, because i have no casings
  4. Locked As there is a new thread at http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/117471-1-0-RasterPropMonitor-still-putting-the-A-in-IVA-%28v0-19-0-28-Apr-2015%29
  5. Bill Phill... Yep new line on my list says check rail alignment and buttons as last step FishInferno... Lost a rail button so need to get a new pair, thrust ring on the bottom is nice and charred and burned, so I have to sand off the burned part and glue a new thrust plate on (with the access to tools i have less than 4 hrs of work)
  6. I launched again this month... And had issues... One of my rail buttons that guide the rocket got jammed under the rail somehow which meant my rocket sat on the pad for longer than it should have ~3 secs ~.5 sec once the motor was ignited. The album below should show what happened. The rocket was successfully recovered, minus one rail button.
  7. ah 445 years ago is not long enoguh on the the cosmological scale for the planets to have formed and cooled enough for life to form Starwhip
  8. It is a rabbit hole that NASA is chasing... The tests of the earth based articles have provided nowhere NEAR the thrust and only about 50% efficiency, which is below what they need for it to work.
  9. red5 look on the bright side, we wont have to do as much work now
  10. I much prefer bacon to the parachutes acting as rockets, remember folks downloading things on 4/1 is always a hit or miss event
  11. Worir4 more importantly it could distract the pilot and as I said earlier the times when the plane or chopper is flying low enough would be when it is landing or taking off or doing SAR, all times when you cant afford to be distracted. That is why it is illegal to do it.
  12. Wow that is some detailed photos, I wonder if they will release one of Ceres
  13. Any way of trying to resolve the pressure and other issues would involve a lot of money and could set off the thing so it would not be advisable to do it with current technologies
  14. To put it in a nutshell it is against the law in most places and if you get caught it will put you in jail for a long time. You should never try to distract a pilot while flying and even more so when a plane is flying low as that means that they are looking for something, or are landing or taking off, some of the most dangerous phases of flight.
  15. Tommy off the top of my head maybe? but remember you also have to be able to oxidize it really fast... In other news I finally got pics of my rocket under flight and
  16. skyler there are a lot... How fast will the water be leaving the mouth of the bottle? are you using a Nozzle? what is the PSI of the tank?
  17. Bill i think he means payload to mars, and to be successful they would need a LOT more than 10 tons or they would have to do multiple launches like the plan described the in the book The Martian by Andy Weir. Even then it would be very hard and dangerous
